TheHappy_P0tat0 I have reason to believe Shirou also became a heroic spirit considering how it did indeed take centuries of both of them pursuing and waiting, endlessly, it seems like a miracle like that would need far more time than a few decades. As well as the fact that, Shirou as a human was so reckless that he was most likely going to die at a young age just like Archer, he would not live till the end of his natural life running after being a hero regardless. Thus, it wasn't THAT long a time, to the point where he could not even remember his teen years, and even what he previously believed. Remember that Archer only became worn down after being a heroic spirit for so long. he died with a smile on his face in his original life, glad he was achieving his heroic ideal. Fate Shirou most likely was the same.
MrInuhanyou123 I believe it was said that due to the nature of the modern era, it was no longer possible for people to become Heroic Spirits so Shirou probably died as a nameless hero, who then became a Counter Guardian. If Shirou could still access Avalon (a perfectly Traced copy since he returned the original to Saber in Fate), even without a direct connection with Saber needed for its full power, its innate healing properties definitely would have helped extend his life.

Fate Shirou becomes a Counter guardian after making a contract with the world for power to achieve a miracle and save people from a disaster (Late 20- Early 30). Then he acts as a counter guardian for long but unlike Archer, despite seeing and suffering the worst of mankind, he never regrets the path because of his memories of Saber. Because of that change of attitude, the times that he was summoned as a CG, people of the age started to acknowledge him as a kind of "hero". Because the collective conscience of the humanity now held spirit Emiya as something more that a CG, he ascended to a complete Heroic Spirit status and broke free of the Counter Force and could reach Avalon. I don't know if that is something different but it is an unconventional path.

I want Ufo to redo Fatr Stay Night, and after the final credits have this scene. It would be beautiful and make some people maybe cry. I will admit I nearly cried at the end of this, cause I just finished FSN. There's no words to describe how much I love this route. I don't care if everyone says it's the worst route! it's beautiful. Shirou and Saber deserve a happy ending like this after all they have been through. Please Ufo!
+Numair Javaid Some people say that this is the worst route because compared to the other routes, this one is the weakest and the most boring one. Honestly, I don't see why they think that, I mean, this IS the first route. Where it serves as an intro to the Nasuverse. What did they expect, to be slapped in the face with the mindfuck of them all - Heaven's Feel - first and go on with the VN not understanding something? Or to be given an easier and understandable route where things are explained further as you progress.
Makes you wonder... Personally, I think the Fate Route is the best one since it's the most solidly written out of all three. My only issue with this route is that it's missing a few details which could have made it more fleshed out, but Nasu purposely left them out for the other routes. Bad decision for this game. Also, Arturia & Shirou are the best couple for one BIG reason: They constantly call each other out on their flaws. Arturia's route is the only one where Shirou's biggest problem is solved: His trauma from 10 years ago. At the end of the day, there's nothing wrong with Shirou's ideals, the problem is that they come from such an empty person. The other routes bring it up for a quick second but never fully explore it like this one does. That alone makes Arturia the best girl for him. And a LOT of people miss that. And I think this is what damned Archer to take the route that he did: By failing to save Arturia, he failed to save himself because he couldn't see what was wrong with the path he was taking. When Shirou decided to make her as happy as he could, he started to realize his problems.
They did a UBW movie and a full anime. And Heaven's feel gets a trilogy of movies. WTF. Here we have the original and one of the best routes all the way from 2006. FFS.
This is beautiful, a much much better love story than that of UBW and Heaven's Feel. They are star crossed lovers yet they refuse to accept the fact that their dream of being together is impossible. 2006 Fate/Stay Night could have been so much better.... Hopefully they remake it improving both the artwork and the way Shirou is portrayed. Absolutely love the "One must wait continuously, while one must pursue endlessly." part. It explains just how impossible it is to achieve what they yearn for.
+Mister M Exactly, just beautiful. Nasu(the author) said that redoing Fate would require redoing a lot of things, so it wasn't just the same as the original. I personally welcome that, keep it fresh and exciting as long as it ends this way

2SSSR2 Yeah I agree, it's pretty unfeasible. I guess they could "cheat" and make it so that Sakura is Shirou's romantic partner in life, but Saber is his soulmate that he'll spend his afterlife with. I still think that's a reach though and it doesn't flow well with the story.

Let me just say, the ending of the original Fate Stay Night by Deen still is the one that hits the hardest. I'd wager that movies simply about Shirou's journey across time finding his path to Avalon intermingled with his time with Saber would be a dream come true. Make it happen UFOtable.
I have played this game in its entirety 4 times now... and I've just begun my 5th playthrough. Each time, I have laughed; I have cried; I've gotten angry at the characters and yelled at my screen; and I've facepalmed at how dense one distorted redhead can actually be. Yet, I keep returning to the single greatest Visual Novel I have ever played, despite the fact that it takes me almost 100 hours per completion. Fate/Stay Night is the standard that I hold every other VN up against in comparison. It wasn't my first VN, nor will it be my last, but I've yet to find one that comes close to its league. This ending.... the True Ending of the Fate Route... is the kind of ending that can leave anyone feeling satisfied, yet still wish you could see what happens next. Thank you Type-Moon for producing this fine piece of artwork and thank you, Nasu-sensei, for creating this amazing world for us to enjoy.
Even though I've just recently become a Fate/Stay Night fan recently because of Fate/Zero and the recent adaptation of the Unlimited Blade Works route, I must say, this was truly beautiful. Like so many others I do hope that Ufotable does get to adapting the Fate route eventually. Hopefully after they're done with the Heaven's Feel route.

In garden of Avalon Merlin watched saber's last moments in the 5th holy grail war and was pleased with the outcome. he probably watched the entire war. the fate route version. that's probably how he knows about Shirou other than saber telling him

I'm glad i watch this video i never seen this before. After watching this finally after long long time i can fill this hole that Fate/Stay Night left in me. It was a long 10 years, but in the end i got my happy ending just like in this story.
Will thou stay with me through this fated night ? Hence, the story, Fate Stay Night. What is it that drives man the will to fight? To survive? For pride? For honor? For one's ideals? For love? We never know. Man, such fragile creatures, but in the pitch black cloak if darkness , there's a ray of hope that shines among those who holds firm to their ideals. They're heroes. But then again , what is a hero? Just a mere title, a word , let's not take it seriously. For those who are embarking on the mystical journey of this metaphysical world , fate stay night is not for the faint of hearts. Neither is it for the feeble simple minded. Should one prevail till the final conclusion, one may change in life , well, that's my part, haha. But words cannot describe the details of Nasu Kinoko's works , they're beyond beauty , beyond grandeur, they've reached somewhere ever distant beyond the imagination and fantasy of men. No words, only silence remain May he forever be engraved into the records of the throne of heroes for this grand masterpiece
I feel like this ending definitely should have a OVA, even just one episode of Shirou's journey to Saber. It wouldn't really be hard to make, and it would please a lot of people... what are they working on right now?

I watched this fresh off of finishing the Fate route, and damn, ALL OF THESE FEELS. At 8:30 I get a large rush of emotions, and then at 8:57 I'm nearly tearing up. Seeing Saber's face like that after seeing everything that she has went through, just absolutely wonderful. Really looking forward to starting UBW.
This ending is why I hold Fate Shirou in high regard and why he is tied with Miyuverse Shirou as my favorite incarnation of the character. Out of all the 3 originals, Fate Shirou is the one who made it to Avalon while the others simply never needed to reach the Ever-Distant Utopia. Ever pursuing the Once-and-Future King who has continuosly waited for him, becoming a legendary hero of the modern age, his unyielding heroism, idealism and will eventually earns Shirou an eternity in Avalon with his beloved after the end of their respective lives. Both free of their burdens to stay by each others' sides for all of eternity. The character development and arc in this route from the start till this ending, with all things considered, is one of the best I have had the pleasure of reading. EDIT: I will admit, I teared up first time I read this. A beautiful segment indeed.
Miyuverse Shirou is the worst Shirou, writing-wise. It's Heaven's Feel Shirou with none of the weight of his choice and none of the conflict because it's not what Emiya Shirou was. It's basically someone's fanfiction Shirou.
I love the 2006 series much more then the Fate Zero and the UBW. And i could not stand the fact that they didnt meet again. man all these series are quite complicated.. But this is the ending i was hoping for al along. It took me some time but the internet helps a lot . That said, Ufotable should make the perfect remake of the 2006 series from Deen. The graphics are much better from Ufotable, .

hey can you explain to me these "routes". im pretty confused here as i just got finished with fate/zero and really enjoyed it, so i researched into the other anime series and found fate/ubw for 2006 and fate/stay night for last year that is adapted differently. i have also read that at some point a heavens feel movie will be made this year. but im confused as to what heavens feel is, if people are saying that the ending of sabre and shirou being together is the true ending of fate.

You must wonder: why this ending is the last and it's show after all the other routes? I cannot quite understand that myself, but it seems no matter which path Shirou chooses, in the end of his life he will always persue to find Saber at Avalon (The Utopia, The Unreachable Place), as it seems he himself goes through a loop in his life choices where he, 1st prioritizes Saber and establishes a promise to reunite himself, 2nd he follows his ideals in order to reach a place he knows impossible for him but keeps going anyway, 3rd he completely dismisses his own ideals and at the end he becomes a being free of the body as his soul is transfered to a "container" in order to keep him alive. My explanation might be all jumbled up, but I suspect that at end of his human existence, Shirou from all multiverses gather into one and are able to reach a place which is impossible to reach even using all five elements magic. But what I most want make certain, is that Shirou only reaches at that end after going through a lot, if not all spirit realms that there may be in the Fateverse.
ABlazingThunderJon The reason this ending is at the very ending is probably because of Nasu's intent to show that Shirou could still find happiness in some way pursuing a meaningless dream. In the original visual novel(not realta nua), the implication was left open that for both Fate and UBW Shirou, they never found any happiness in their lives and thus were "wrong". While HF Shirou who was free of those ideals was "right". I belive that this ending(as well as the UBW extra epilogue episode of the recent anime that wasn't in the VN) was meant to show that even in Fate and UBW, even Shirou at his most idealistic could find peace without throwing away that ideal, and all that came with it, even if it was meaningless by itself.
MrInuhanyou123 But the Ideal at the ending of those routes was supposed to be a guidepost, not something to blindly persue. Once you staple something as your limit, it is very difficult to overcome that target. But if you have that desire as a motivation, rather than something to seek above all, you don't even notice when you actually overcome that personal target, and thus can keep going to reach other "lands" and objectives. That is why I always thought Fate and UBW was the least meaningless of all the three, and the third one you needed to stuck to reality and couldn't go beyond of what you see, a huge wall that forbiddes you to keep reaching other places. I see it like this because on the Fateverse is the only place you see things going beyond the reality human realm and makes things that are after death even more real and meaningful.

And for me the best of them all is UBW because of the clash of ideals between Archer and Shirou. But that final episode though... It gave me a new perspective towards the story haha.
Mads Corfix I'm fairly certain that it's actually usually assumed that all of the paths do happen and that there is in fact some form of "multiverse" or at the very least parallel dimensions. I'm somewhat certain that this is proven in some of the extended stuff (Fate/Hollow ataraxia comes to mind).
I have a good feeling about the new remake. The opening make me feels that they are going to merger both Fate and UBW route together, and even in the ending Shirou is depicted to be together with Saber while Rin with Archer. So the ending is possible to be animated somehow. Please Ufotable just make it, I don't mind if it is inside Bluray version or whatever version, take my money.
I dunno about that.I would not count on any major upheavals of the story like that. I just wish we could get saberXshirou and this true ending somehow animated by ufo..arturia deserves ultimate happiness cause its so beautiful, and i really like the early dynamic Arturia and Shirou have in UBW as opposed to Fate, cause he's not a sexist for her telling her not to fight cause she's a girl for a lot of the time. In fate they seem more at odds with each other for a while. But in UBW they get close as friends and partners much faster.
Derek Bates No...Heroic spirit Archer EMIYA as we know him in all 3 universes in FSN(Fate, UBW and HF) is an alternate universe Shirou himself, who never ended up with any of the girls, and never seriously thought about his own goals. He based his life on only the promise he made to Kiritsugu as a child. He didn't make the goal truly his own or discard it like the 3 Shirou's in FSN. So that's why he(Archer EMIYA) ended up regretting it and how he became such a bitter and cynical individual. Nasu has stated that because the Shirou's in the 3 routes find their own paths with help from the girls they individually fall in love with(aka Arturia, Rin and Sakura), they don't ever become such a miserable regretful person like Archer EMIYA.
Derek Bates Shirou in FSN, and Heroic spirit EMIYA came from the same original circumstances. But they diverge in the circumstances they have gone through. So you cant call them literally the same. Future Trunks is not Z/GT Trunks, they are different people. Even though they were born in the same form , they have gone through different things and experienced life different. Their minds and outlook on life are completely different.
While it's good if Ufotable remakes this, but I wouldn't be surprised if studio Deen handled the remake, its reasonable since they were the ones to introduce its anime. And if the rumor of Ufotable not readapting this to respect Studio Deen is partly true, then I wouldn't disagree with them cos it might make Deen lose more face assuming the amount of dislike they already get. But for some reason I feel like Ufotable can't handle that mysterious feeling that you get from Deens Fate, I can't really find the words to explain it, but some might know what I mean, that different feeling you get when you watch Fate route, Ufotables Fate has that “Over dramatic” and “modern-ish” feeling which I think imo doesn't really fit well with Fate route. The studio Deen now I can expect that they can pull off a good remake, it might not have UFOs animations nor does it have to be perfect, but I dont really mind that, I want to see it animated well with the newer technology now in the present with this ending. But if Fate route does get remake, I really wish for one thing that they bring Kawai Kenji back, honestly his music is so simple and beautiful, I can't imagine Fate route without his music. I really want to see Artoria and Shirou have their happy ending animated, at least Rin and Sakura had a happy ending, but I really wish to see Artoria's happy ending. Even now Artoria is my favorite female character, I was so surprised to see how feminine and beautiful she looked in that dress and her hair down when reading the ending. I will keep hoping for that one day that Fate route gets a remake. It's my favorite route out of the 3.

No, your absolutely correct. In all 3 routes, Shirou does not become Archer by different circumstances. In Fate, he's closest to Archer, as in, he still becomes a heroic spirit and everything, but his reasons for seeking justice are different, and so he can no longer fall into despair. Arturia is his reason for fighting now

I really wished Ufotable went with an orginal route instead by combining aspects of all routes and made Saber the heroine and ended with this as a post credit scene as the rumors that spread around led some of the fans to believed
Shirou wants to chase after Saber forever. If he becomes part of the Counter Force, he will never be able to meet her, as she waits for him in Avalon. It's unlikely that Fate-Shirou or UBW-Shirou become Archer. Besides, Saber wasn't the person Archer cared about the most.

Zero Strife It's implied that Shirou never makes the deal with the Counter Force like Archer.
If he did, he would never get into Avalon.

Honestly, I don't see why they think that, I mean, this IS the first route. Where it serves as an intro to the Nasuverse. What did they expect, to be slapped in the face with the mindfuck of them all - Heaven's Feel - first and go on with the VN not understanding something? Or to be given an easier and understandable route where things are explained further as you progress.
Makes you wonder... Personally, I think the Fate Route is the best one since it's the most solidly written out of all three. My only issue with this route is that it's missing a few details which could have made it more fleshed out, but Nasu purposely left them out for the other routes. Bad decision for this game.
Also, Arturia & Shirou are the best couple for one BIG reason: They constantly call each other out on their flaws. Arturia's route is the only one where Shirou's biggest problem is solved: His trauma from 10 years ago. At the end of the day, there's nothing wrong with Shirou's ideals, the problem is that they come from such an empty person. The other routes bring it up for a quick second but never fully explore it like this one does. That alone makes Arturia the best girl for him. And a LOT of people miss that.
And I think this is what damned Archer to take the route that he did: By failing to save Arturia, he failed to save himself because he couldn't see what was wrong with the path he was taking. When Shirou decided to make her as happy as he could, he started to realize his problems.
They did a UBW movie and a full anime. And Heaven's feel gets a trilogy of movies. WTF. Here we have the original and one of the best routes all the way from 2006. FFS.
This is beautiful, a much much better love story than that of UBW and Heaven's Feel. They are star crossed lovers yet they refuse to accept the fact that their dream of being together is impossible. 2006 Fate/Stay Night could have been so much better.... Hopefully they remake it improving both the artwork and the way Shirou is portrayed. Absolutely love the "One must wait continuously, while one must pursue endlessly." part. It explains just how impossible it is to achieve what they yearn for.
+Mister M Exactly, just beautiful. Nasu(the author) said that redoing Fate would require redoing a lot of things, so it wasn't just the same as the original. I personally welcome that, keep it fresh and exciting as long as it ends this way

Yeah I agree, it's pretty unfeasible. I guess they could "cheat" and make it so that Sakura is Shirou's romantic partner in life, but Saber is his soulmate that he'll spend his afterlife with. I still think that's a reach though and it doesn't flow well with the story.
I think the Blue Ray special would be more appropriate , kinda like what they did with the Sunny day ending of UBW.

Let me just say, the ending of the original Fate Stay Night by Deen still is the one that hits the hardest. I'd wager that movies simply about Shirou's journey across time finding his path to Avalon intermingled with his time with Saber would be a dream come true. Make it happen UFOtable.
I have played this game in its entirety 4 times now... and I've just begun my 5th playthrough. Each time, I have laughed; I have cried; I've gotten angry at the characters and yelled at my screen; and I've facepalmed at how dense one distorted redhead can actually be. Yet, I keep returning to the single greatest Visual Novel I have ever played, despite the fact that it takes me almost 100 hours per completion. Fate/Stay Night is the standard that I hold every other VN up against in comparison. It wasn't my first VN, nor will it be my last, but I've yet to find one that comes close to its league. This ending.... the True Ending of the Fate Route... is the kind of ending that can leave anyone feeling satisfied, yet still wish you could see what happens next. Thank you Type-Moon for producing this fine piece of artwork and thank you, Nasu-sensei, for creating this amazing world for us to enjoy.
Even though I've just recently become a Fate/Stay Night fan recently because of Fate/Zero and the recent adaptation of the Unlimited Blade Works route, I must say, this was truly beautiful. Like so many others I do hope that Ufotable does get to adapting the Fate route eventually. Hopefully after they're done with the Heaven's Feel route.

I'm glad i watch this video i never seen this before. After watching this finally after long long time i can fill this hole that Fate/Stay Night left in me. It was a long 10 years, but in the end i got my happy ending just like in this story.

They do embrace at the end tho...so beautiful. The tale of their romance is an impossible fantasy of star crossed lovers from beyond time and death, it makes sense for the ending to be like this...its so great

I watched this fresh off of finishing the Fate route, and damn, ALL OF THESE FEELS. At 8:30 I get a large rush of emotions, and then at 8:57 I'm nearly tearing up. Seeing Saber's face like that after seeing everything that she has went through, just absolutely wonderful. Really looking forward to starting UBW.
This ending is why I hold Fate Shirou in high regard and why he is tied with Miyuverse Shirou as my favorite incarnation of the character.
Out of all the 3 originals, Fate Shirou is the one who made it to Avalon while the others simply never needed to reach the Ever-Distant Utopia.
Ever pursuing the Once-and-Future King who has continuosly waited for him, becoming a legendary hero of the modern age, his unyielding heroism, idealism and will eventually earns Shirou an eternity in Avalon with his beloved after the end of their respective lives. Both free of their burdens to stay by each others' sides for all of eternity.
The character development and arc in this route from the start till this ending, with all things considered, is one of the best I have had the pleasure of reading.
EDIT: I will admit, I teared up first time I read this. A beautiful segment indeed.

Miyuverse Shirou is the worst Shirou, writing-wise. It's Heaven's Feel Shirou with none of the weight of his choice and none of the conflict because it's not what Emiya Shirou was. It's basically someone's fanfiction Shirou.
An OVA, just make 1 OVA with this ending, is the only thing i wish for this series :(
I love the 2006 series much more then the Fate Zero and the UBW. And i could not stand the fact that they didnt meet again. man all these series are quite complicated.. But this is the ending i was hoping for al along. It took me some time but the internet helps a lot . That said, Ufotable should make the perfect remake of the 2006 series from Deen. The graphics are much better from Ufotable, .

hey can you explain to me these "routes". im pretty confused here as i just got finished with fate/zero and really enjoyed it, so i researched into the other anime series and found fate/ubw for 2006 and fate/stay night for last year that is adapted differently. i have also read that at some point a heavens feel movie will be made this year. but im confused as to what heavens feel is, if people are saying that the ending of sabre and shirou being together is the true ending of fate.
***** Fate/Stay Night is a visual novel, and based on what choices you make while you play it will diverge into 3 different routes that will focus on a specific story and characters, some characters will for example get indepth development in one route while in another they'll be just extras, the 3 routes are named Fate, UBW and Heavens Feel and each one has its main heroine, Fate is saber, ubw is rin, and heavens feel is sakura
saber and shirou being together is just a possibility, but theres this epilogue thats unlocked after you finish all 3 routes that basically focuses on what happened after the end of the fate route

Ufotable please complete the collection!! You remade Unlimited Blade Works, then you should at least do the same for Fate Route.

You must wonder: why this ending is the last and it's show after all the other routes?
I cannot quite understand that myself, but it seems no matter which path Shirou chooses, in the end of his life he will always persue to find Saber at Avalon (The Utopia, The Unreachable Place), as it seems he himself goes through a loop in his life choices where he, 1st prioritizes Saber and establishes a promise to reunite himself, 2nd he follows his ideals in order to reach a place he knows impossible for him but keeps going anyway, 3rd he completely dismisses his own ideals and at the end he becomes a being free of the body as his soul is transfered to a "container" in order to keep him alive.
My explanation might be all jumbled up, but I suspect that at end of his human existence, Shirou from all multiverses gather into one and are able to reach a place which is impossible to reach even using all five elements magic.
But what I most want make certain, is that Shirou only reaches at that end after going through a lot, if not all spirit realms that there may be in the Fateverse.
ABlazingThunderJon The reason this ending is at the very ending is probably because of Nasu's intent to show that Shirou could still find happiness in some way pursuing a meaningless dream.
In the original visual novel(not realta nua), the implication was left open that for both Fate and UBW Shirou, they never found any happiness in their lives and thus were "wrong". While HF Shirou who was free of those ideals was "right".
I belive that this ending(as well as the UBW extra epilogue episode of the recent anime that wasn't in the VN) was meant to show that even in Fate and UBW, even Shirou at his most idealistic could find peace without throwing away that ideal, and all that came with it, even if it was meaningless by itself.

But the Ideal at the ending of those routes was supposed to be a guidepost, not something to blindly persue.
Once you staple something as your limit, it is very difficult to overcome that target. But if you have that desire as a motivation, rather than something to seek above all, you don't even notice when you actually overcome that personal target, and thus can keep going to reach other "lands" and objectives.
That is why I always thought Fate and UBW was the least meaningless of all the three, and the third one you needed to stuck to reality and couldn't go beyond of what you see, a huge wall that forbiddes you to keep reaching other places.
I see it like this because on the Fateverse is the only place you see things going beyond the reality human realm and makes things that are after death even more real and meaningful.

I was greatly strucked by the essence behind the ideas that are hold in each VN.
And for me the best of them all is UBW because of the clash of ideals between Archer and Shirou.
But that final episode though... It gave me a new perspective towards the story haha.
Mads Corfix I'm fairly certain that it's actually usually assumed that all of the paths do happen and that there is in fact some form of "multiverse" or at the very least parallel dimensions. I'm somewhat certain that this is proven in some of the extended stuff (Fate/Hollow ataraxia comes to mind).

I have a good feeling about the new remake. The opening make me feels that they are going to merger both Fate and UBW route together, and even in the ending Shirou is depicted to be together with Saber while Rin with Archer. So the ending is possible to be animated somehow. Please Ufotable just make it, I don't mind if it is inside Bluray version or whatever version, take my money.

I just wish we could get saberXshirou and this true ending somehow animated by ufo..arturia deserves ultimate happiness cause its so beautiful, and i really like the early dynamic Arturia and Shirou have in UBW as opposed to Fate, cause he's not a sexist for her telling her not to fight cause she's a girl for a lot of the time.
In fate they seem more at odds with each other for a while. But in UBW they get close as friends and partners much faster.

No...Heroic spirit Archer EMIYA as we know him in all 3 universes in FSN(Fate, UBW and HF) is an alternate universe Shirou himself, who never ended up with any of the girls, and never seriously thought about his own goals. He based his life on only the promise he made to Kiritsugu as a child. He didn't make the goal truly his own or discard it like the 3 Shirou's in FSN.
So that's why he(Archer EMIYA) ended up regretting it and how he became such a bitter and cynical individual.
Nasu has stated that because the Shirou's in the 3 routes find their own paths with help from the girls they individually fall in love with(aka Arturia, Rin and Sakura), they don't ever become such a miserable regretful person like Archer EMIYA.
MrInuhanyou123 that's a technicality; it's like saying Roddenberry's James T. Kirk and Abrams James Kirk aren't the same character.

Shirou in FSN, and Heroic spirit EMIYA came from the same original circumstances. But they diverge in the circumstances they have gone through. So you cant call them literally the same.
Future Trunks is not Z/GT Trunks, they are different people. Even though they were born in the same form , they have gone through different things and experienced life different. Their minds and outlook on life are completely different.

While it's good if Ufotable remakes this, but I wouldn't be surprised if studio Deen handled the remake, its reasonable since they were the ones to introduce its anime. And if the rumor of Ufotable not readapting this to respect Studio Deen is partly true, then I wouldn't disagree with them cos it might make Deen lose more face assuming the amount of dislike they already get. But for some reason I feel like Ufotable can't handle that mysterious feeling that you get from Deens Fate, I can't really find the words to explain it, but some might know what I mean, that different feeling you get when you watch Fate route, Ufotables Fate has that “Over dramatic” and “modern-ish” feeling which I think imo doesn't really fit well with Fate route. The studio Deen now I can expect that they can pull off a good remake, it might not have UFOs animations nor does it have to be perfect, but I dont really mind that, I want to see it animated well with the newer technology now in the present with this ending. But if Fate route does get remake, I really wish for one thing that they bring Kawai Kenji back, honestly his music is so simple and beautiful, I can't imagine Fate route without his music. I really want to see Artoria and Shirou have their happy ending animated, at least Rin and Sakura had a happy ending, but I really wish to see Artoria's happy ending. Even now Artoria is my favorite female character, I was so surprised to see how feminine and beautiful she looked in that dress and her hair down when reading the ending. I will keep hoping for that one day that Fate route gets a remake. It's my favorite route out of the 3.

This ending is beautiful; it would have been great if they included it in the anime. Since Gilgamish was defeated by Saber, the timeline was altered so Shirou doesn't become exactly like the bitter and cynical Archer when he gets older, at least I don't think so.
No, your absolutely correct. In all 3 routes, Shirou does not become Archer by different circumstances. In Fate, he's closest to Archer, as in, he still becomes a heroic spirit and everything, but his reasons for seeking justice are different, and so he can no longer fall into despair. Arturia is his reason for fighting now
MrInuhanyou123 In UBW, Rin is the one that fills that role. Saber acts more like a good friend and supporter to Shirou then a love interest, the role that Rin had in the original series.

Also, its never confirmed how Shirou lived his life in UBW after going to the clocktower with Rin. He probably never became a heroic spirit to begin with, like in HF
I'm not sure about that; I think in HF, Shirou might have lived a normal life but there's a chance he may have become a heroic spirit himself like Saber but he might turn out different then the Archer that Rin knew.

He never wanted to be a hero in HF. The whole point of choosing to become a heroic spirit was based on his desire to be a hero. Especially in HF, he threw that away, and so its impossible.

I really wished Ufotable went with an orginal route instead by combining aspects of all routes and made Saber the heroine and ended with this as a post credit scene as the rumors that spread around led some of the fans to believed

i guess this ending should have been the ending for fate and UBW route where the future archer in ubw is shirou from fate route
Shirou wants to chase after Saber forever. If he becomes part of the Counter Force, he will never be able to meet her, as she waits for him in Avalon. It's unlikely that Fate-Shirou or UBW-Shirou become Archer. Besides, Saber wasn't the person Archer cared about the most.
I know right no one in the entire Fate series so far deserves a happy ending than Saber does.
