I plan to visit June 4th - June 11th and stay around Big Pine Key. Probably kayak fish around the Bahia Honda Bridge and Bahia Honda Channel and later some backcountry around Sugarloaf. Still open to any other suggestions and flexible. Have a 16 foot Jackson Kraken fishing kayak and Garmin 53DV Echomap Chirp with the latest G2 Vision map for the Keys so that should be fun. Basically find the steep drop-offs from 20ft to 4ft and drift a jig. Still learning what to do and where to go. BTW, I shoot video for social media (day job) and may bring my 2 cameras along. Also have a wireless Rode lavalier mic with windscreen if you want someone to shoot an episode for you. Can give you the footage to edit as you like. No pressure, just offering :) Cheers…..T
Yea shoot me a message, maybe we can set up a day where we do some patch reef fishing here in Key Largo. Yea drifting and verticle jigging can produce. I'de also look around little mangrove islands and find the deep side of the island and throw some live bait at the mangroves. That should almost always produce some nice sized snapper.

It keeps the bait at the top of the water so it doesn't swim down to the bottom and get stuck on rocks. I'll be more detailed in future videos about all my rigs. This is one of my newer ones. My last upload I already added a bunch of 'tip' popups heh.
Why don't you get a tripod for your camera or a chest mount and what language I was letting my kids watch the videos until I heard the F word on several videos. So only I can watch first but no big deal Thanks Bill Alloway

I like all the shimano reels. I use a lot of penn reels and they are ok and much cheaper.
That’s why we use comventional and casting gear in SoCal. So we don’t get rocked!

I lived in Fort Lauderdale last year. Traffic was killer, but I loved that I could take the boat out 1 mile and be in Mahi territory.
