Seriously, these videos are what’s keeping my energy flowing for the need to go fishing. Beautiful water, only a few boats(and a rude one)blue sky’s and the joy of never knowing what might eat your bait. Great great video dude. SoSoCal
That was definitely a schoolmaster snapper at 3:20 At the moment The Keys are closed. I'm still making videos (since I live here), but it's a bit strange not having any tourists down here. Hopefully this will all be over soon.
Thanks 🤙🏻 and I mean after catching that fish it was tough to get mad. In my mind that would be like winning the lottery and being upset I lost 5$ bill lol
@@FishAholicTV I lost a 200 dollar radio under the Throgs Neck Bridge at a dark 4am ...to make matters worse, it wasnt mine and had to fork out the 200...plus I got skunked.. So I had a complete different reaction than you had LOL....
@@dandy4040 Thanks, that is what I though but wasn't sure. Can you have and run a small electric motor when launching in the park or is that prohibited.
the attitude you just showed us is the difference between a fisherman and an angler you don't let nothing spoil a beautiful catch like you just did with that smoke and that booty shrimp congratulations.
That's a cubera, the stripes are similar to a schoolmaster but the mouth and lips are bigger and the body is longer. You can get a good look at the head at 15:41
Gorgeous snook. My favorite fish to go for when I visit the sunshine state. Usually let em all go, but I’ll keep one or 2 in season. Especially since snook, mahi and walleye are the only fish I target for eating. Lol. Everything else goes back after I catch it. Great job out there in those beautiful mangroves. Brings back a lot of memories.👍🏻
Fishing the Keys is number one on my bucket list. Need to do it soon. Father time is definitely catching up with me. Hopefully 2022 is the year for me. Also need to hook up with my first tarpon. Catching my first Tarpon is right up there on my bucket list.
My very first time out in my kayak I lost a brand spanking new St Croix rod and Penn spinfisher reel. Now I bungee everything to my kayak when not in use. Lessons learned... The hard way. Enjoy the videos man.
Hey really nice snook, an a few drag pullers wish I would’ve saw the catch, every time I take my kayak out I actually take a fishing magnet wit me, they come in handy if I drop my pliers or anythin, that I’m usin that’s worth retrievin, an I jus tried it out my magnet will catch my cam, not sure if it’ll work after bein dumped, but always worth the footage in the cam, can’t wait for the next,🤙🏼🤙🏼
Yeah I mean once that camera was totally underwater the only thing salvageable would possibly be the sd card so I just excepted the fact it was gone lol.
By the way, you are fishing a channel called the intercoastal which runs from miami down to key west where all the main boats run through on bayside, love that area, I want to go fish it again.
Hi there! Visiting my son in Homestead and we’ve been doing some bridge fishing. We tried taking kayaks out and had a heck of a time finding a place to launch from that wasn’t an arm and a leg to do so. Any suggestions you can provide? Thanks! Great videos by the way. Love that you explain what you’re using and why you’re using it.
You came at the right time. They're going to block off the 18-mile stretch and card sound road because of the virus I believe tomorrow. Non-residents will not be allowed in. I also heard they will have screening stations leaving as well. When you leave to go north, get up early because that traffic on the 1 lane road is going to be hell. I live in the keys.
@@FishAholicTV can you do a video covering the equipment pls. So the kayak and that kind of thing. The tackle is another story I know more about but that would also be good. TY
After watching this I went to Bass pro and bought some more bait including those shrimp. I planned on going to those spots in a few days and this was great to find
Great fishing buddy I love the Florida Keys. I actually got married in Key West. Sorry about your camera but great spirit 👍🏼 maybe I’ll run into you on Long Island this year. Be well buddy and stay safe

haha thanks!! Going to be back down there sometime this week and next week! Hopefully won't drop a camera and will make a few more banger videos!! Tight Lines!
Why kind of wading booties are those? Really enjoying your videos and just subbed. Also how do you like the power knobs compared to regular paddle knobs on 3000 size reels? Is there a benefit to power knobs
Hello, I just got to watch your video now, great vid by the way. I was wondering if you could tell me where exactly you launched your kayak that day. I always launch from John Pennekamp but that leaves me in Largo sound. Please let me know of this kayak launch. thanks again, be safe!
I'm trying to figure out where you took your kayak out, so we can launch in the area, but darned if I can locate.... any tips would be great. Thanks for the interesting video!
Awesome man! Can’t wait for you to fish NJ again! Stripers are coming! My uncle “Darrion Hefner” told me about you and he met you so you know him? Thanks! Great video! 👊💥🎣

Having spent my entire life fishing in freshwater it’s amazing how many fish pull loose after being hooked.

“There’s a snook”
All I see is the pole bend right away
Snookalicious! My new favorite word!
This must have been earlier bc the Keys are pretty much shut down as far as lodging and going out to restaurants etc....😎
It was right before. So I’m glad I made the trip.
That's South Channel right outside Pennekamp Park, mile marker 102. Great spot for fishing! I've gotten solid 16" mangrove snappers back there.
Thanks. My wife and I are heading down and can't figure out where this is or where to launch a kayak.
best place to launch a kayak is at John Pennekamp State Park. Especially if you want to be right in there.
