      Might be worth your while to get several cans of dry gas and try that also check where your gas inlet is it could be leaking from there when water is rough or it's raining

      IDK what is it about boats, it's like their blursed or something.🤷. Wish I could help.
      Anyway, excellent video, as always.

    Water in the fuel can be from a few things. Don't leave the tank partially filled. With the tank being vented, temperature changes will produce moisture.
    Cap the filler neck, vent hose and apply a couple of pounds air pressure like from a bicycle air pump to the fuel hose supplying the engine and see if it holds pressure. If it holds pressure, the fuel system is tight.
    I've seen lots of boat fuel tanks have water leak into them from the filler neck having a cracked or missing gasket. Easy check. The vent hose would need to be disconnected from the tank.
    If you add a gallon or two of methanol to the fuel tank, it was absorb the water into the gasoline.
    Don't go off chasing your tail until you run the simple tests I typed above.

  • @Volusia1
    @Volusia1 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    Chances are Heiko you have a fuel line pinhole between engine and fuel tank. You should have an access panel to the tank. A check would be is to disconnect fuel line at motor and at fuel tank. Pinch off one end and get a vacuum gauge and pull vacuum through the hose. If it won't hold vacuum, then it is in the line itself, not the tank..

    Man, I envy that clean ass water. Texas is rarely laid down - 3ft most of the time. Can't go out a lot because my 22 tidewater gets pounded. Was just in Key Largo and I dreamed of having my boat there.

  • @zuluromeo1232

    2 relatively cheap things to check before thinking about replacing a tank. There is a fuel filter screen at the bottom of the fuel intake down in the bottom of the tank. It may be gunked up and restricting flow at high RPM. There is usually an easy to get at access plate covering it. Do a quick check of that. Your boat has some age. This happens occasionally. If it's ok and your tank is just full of crap there are companies who will come to your boat and "scrub" your fuel. It's less expensive than dumping a full tank of gas. They suck out your fuel and run it through a series of separators and filters and return it to your tank with the crap removed. I've replaced tanks but only when they developed pinholes and leaked gas into the bilge. Open up the bilge and stick your face down in it. If there's a leak you'll smell it right away. There also may be a restriction at your anti-siphon valve. Also easy to replace. If thats the problem don't just remove it. It's a safety device and required

  • @robertlittle8672
    @robertlittle8672 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Heiko,trailor your boat, call a friend or anyone that does boat repair,and get a fuel pressure test done. It's very easy to do. You need to make sure whoever is doing it knows how many #s of air to put in it, it's just pinching off your fuel lines and putting the pressure gage into the fuel fill,about 3#s of air for 30 minutes. If the gage drops,get the soapy spray bottle out re pressure the tank and spray.tank and hoses as well. I have done this,and the sucky job of cutting out the fuel tank. Hope this helps.

  • @SaltyPirate71
    @SaltyPirate71 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Your boat's fuel tank is vented to the outside. That lets water condensate in your tank every night. Open up the access panel on your tank with the boat on your trailer. Then lift the tongue of the trailer a couple feet so that the fuel and heavier water collects at the back of the tank and use a hand pump to empty the tank. Refill with fresh fuel and enjoy. Running an engine on fuel with water mixed in it, like happens when you run in choppy water, will destroy the engine. Drain it once or twice a year and you'll be good

    Your gas tanks after leaving that station should not be yellow in color of the gas. If the tank truck drops gas and has extra ethanol blend, they are probably dropping that in the Rec90 fuel. When the tank truck drops gas the water and sediment that maybe in the main tank can pump into your tank. The pump does have a filter for the sediment, but the water could pump into your boat. Warm gas into colder ground tank causes condensation into the main tank! Like a cold glass of pop and warm on the outside of glass to cause condensation, but that is happening on the inside of the main tank. Try some Heat like alcohol additive or ethanol additive! Should evaporate from the tank, it's not the same alcohol as ethanol. Might work in tank and save you money my friend! Additive in tank let sit for a few days run gas out! 🤔

    Heiko, in regards to the fuel tank the water buildup is probably from the boat sitting in the water full time with humid air. i would completely drain n clean the tank if possible. check the tank vents on the outside of the boat aren't clogged with salt. I've seen clogged vents stop a 383 stroker from running properly lol . also check the Anti Siphon Valve on the tank itself. if those go bad they can give you problems. check the condition of the filler cap seal/Oring too! you should Absolutely put a 200 or 250 on the boat :D

  • @scottsautomotivecenter5612
    @scottsautomotivecenter5612 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Heiko if your still having performance issues I doubt it’s air in your fuel tank your supposed to have air I’d look at your vents make sure the are clear (mud dobbers ) if clear go to feed pipe pull out of tank see if pickup is rotted of cracked ant the check ball is working (located in barb) then check rubber hose to water separator. Air in the tank it’s not!!!

  • @georgeniebergall7074
    @georgeniebergall7074 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hico here’s a suggestion for you get clear containers. If you’re gonna gas up at a gas station you’ll be able to see the water in a clear container. I had to do it myself the red containers you can’t see nothing just food for thought I go to bed guess is definitely coming from the gas station. Where are you buying gas

    I know your boat sat unused for a while it was out of commission . Did you drain the fuel tank before using it again? How much fuel was in the tank while it sat? If the tank wasn't full, the water most likely came from condensation, not introducing bad fuel into the tank. I'm sure you know your tank is vented. So the humid Florida weather will get into your tank and introduce water thru condensation. I'm in the middle of the state and it happens to my boats. You live right next to the water so it's going to happen to you even faster.
    The old school of thought was to leave as little gas as possible in the tank due to gas breaking down. But modern fuel lasts much longer so it's best to keep your tank full. With less surface area in your tank for condensation to occur, you'll get less water in the tank. I say less because, with a vented tank, it's impossible to keep all water out in Florida. So keep it full, add a stabilizer, check and change your fuel/water separator often, and you'll have less trouble with water in the tank.
    As you know, water is heavier than gasoline so it sinks to the bottom... right from where your tank pickup pulls fuel into the motor. Even a little water at the bottom turns into almost pure water when sucked into the motor as you first start it after it's been sitting. Trust me I dealt with this countless times before I wised up. Now, ii a boat has not been started for more than even a few months, I will disconnect the fuel line at the motor and suck out a gallon or two of fuel into a glass jar. Even though a use 93 octane ethanol free fuel, I almost always find enough water to cause a problem.
    Before you start chasing air leaks between the motor and tank, drain the tank completely and fill it with fresh fuel.

  • @fungus4758

    Yo Heiko,
    The water separator filter should be removing all the water from the gas before it goes to your engine. If water is still getting through, you will need to change the filter. Check all your lines, make sure they are in good shape and check your ball too. Man that almost sounded weird 🤣🤣🤣🤣
    That sucks what happened to your fillet knife. Time to get a replacement one lol
    I know many people who love eating amber jacks. Like all fish, can't overcook them. Same with chicken breasts.

If your getting a lot of water in the filter and bypassing it, try a step down in the Micron. Should empty the bowl every day before you start it up. if your still getting water, then its time to empty the tank clean the gas.

    You should really buy the Yamaha, I’ve never ever had a problem with mine.I’ve had many different outboards. The Yamaha is by far the most reliable and best running motor I’ve ever owned.
