I would love to see Alexandra go outside of her comfort zone with design. I love her energy and her tips but would like to see her tackle darker colors or more "masculine" decor. Also a holiday decorating tips series/ episode.
@@CathyS_Bx that is just a matter of opinion.do not think it will stop her from getting a " resl man" .one thing i hate about you tube is mean comments. From those who hide behind the fact you are. Anonymos.and hay she is a professional.are you
Ruth Goddard interesting take on this comment. I didn’t see it as hate at all. I actually read it as a fan stating she’d like to see Alexandra go even further with her designs and try new things
What about Design & Alter? It's both your initials and cross collaborative because Danie who's the D will Alter the space with a Diy and Alexandra will Design it with a new Aesthetic. So it's Ds and As all around. Plus it's a play on divide and conquer. Which I know the Sorry Girls have a simiar series but who cares! I love you both...all four? Lol. Rant over.
I looove the sofá in the middle. I live in a studio and I actually placed my (large) couch in the center. It allowed us to create a living room, a dining room and an entryway in a 500sqft studio. Friends and family that asked about the set up were very freaked out about us doing this.... and after they saw it everyone mentioned how wonderful it looked. it’s always worth trying controversial designs! If you don’t like it just move the furniture back 😊
You could call the series R.A.D (Redecorating with Alexandra & Danie) ! You could even ironically say something like "That's soo R.A.D!" at the end of each makeover lol! Give a thumbs ups if anyone else agrees! ;) . Love the channel, thanks for the quality content! :)
I like how it turned out! But I would like to see you design a room with a totally different aesthetic for a change! I feel like I just always see the same look with pinks whites and gold, boho and pompoms. Just a friendly suggestion!
Nicole B Agreed. Throwing down a challenge. Don’t paint everything white, no polka dots, no pom poms, no brass, and no pink. Oh, and no using the same jolly lamps. You are both resting on your laurels...innovate! Inspire us!
Wow! What a huge difference! As soon as I saw the room, I did think you would need to move the sofa where you put it. So, I love it there! Definitely cozied up the room and lets the space by the window shine with that fabulous swing chair! I would also hire a contractor to install that chair in fear that I would end up falling on my a**. Ha ha. I like the layered rugs, especially because it would never have occured to me to try that. Thanks for sharing.
This is one of my very favorite rooms you’ve done... love the sofa location... and so so so LOVE that swinging chair! Like a swing from when we were little kids...💕💕💕.. I could sit there all day..reading, people watching, etc.., oh, how could I forget that coffee table? Love the shape of the legs and the marble top! If I were young and single again? I’d so want my apartment to be exactly like this! ... I groaned when u used that same rattan light, again!... but it looks so good in ombré pink colors, I actually ended up liking it.. if you use this light again in the future, please do some very creative hacks with it.....TFS ... sometimes I wish the reveal would be longer with the client... let her walk around and notice all of the fun changes you made.., it’s too fleeting... the after/reveal... would love a slow pan around the room and a zoomed out look at it as you walk into the apartment...btw, where is her kitchen? Separated?
That polka dot wall is a fire idea! I'm not a fan of polka dots personally, but I'll still give it a shot in my space 'cause it's an easy, practical fix!
I love how you use the exisitng pieces but make them unique and with a buget so everyone feels like they can try as well. Love how this room turned out- great job !
I love the energy with these two ladies, but how old are the people she’s designing for. Millennial pink is so 2017. I’ll have to come back in a few months to see if there’s been any changes in design aesthetic.
Could you do a video about how to control extension cords? I feel so limited in where I can place lamps because of where my outlets are in the room. Thank you so much!
I think you should call it "Feeling the Room".... because that's exactly what you do. Kind of like those people who find water with dowsing rods... except that you instead... feel their style and transmute it into all the little details for their living space. Kind of remarkable. It's not just interior design.... it's much more like interior design plus psychology. Btw... I've just found these videos... and have been enjoying them enormously.
I love the transformation! I can tell from her reaction that it suits her to a T. I hope she adds more plants over time--those windows are amazing and bring in so much light for plants.
I love the makeover. The chair is adorable and the polka dots and poms are a delight. But, if it were my room l would bring those cute flower cushions back in. I think it is nice, if at all possible to retain just one element from the former decor.
I would really love to see you try something different! You have such great energy, and I would love seeing different styles instead of just the same white/pink/pomspoms/ikea lamp shade. You really can pull a room together - don't be afraid to expand your horizons with other colors and styles!
Artists, in all fields, or areas of the arts, have their own "signature" style. In Alexandra's case, it seems to be colors and items that create an atmosphere of warmth and coziness. She did mention in one of her videos, that she loves to use light, and lots of it. I'm in agreement with that sentiment, and of course, that is one person's opinion. I've become a huge fan of her videos. Actually, her love of light and of warm colors is one of the biggest reasons why I continue to return to her videos. There are times (when I am really stressed) when I will watch a video of hers, which I've seen before, simply because the combination of her personality, her personal style in decorating, as well as the background music, have an almost meditative effect on me. There is enough darkness in this world. Let's hear it for light!
The layer rugs totally works for me... 👍 and the curtains, and the polka dot wall, and the swing, and the... wahahah... all in all its so girly! Love it! 😍
Love this makeover ! So pretty and girly. I’m nearly 50 years old but I would love a room like this 😁 Just one small thing I’m not sure about the spotty wall but it might grow on me , but I absolutely adore the gorgeous patterned rug. I know that it has been two years since you and Dani made this video, but I had to comment and tell you how blown away I was by the idea of painting the wall. It fit perfectly the client's Joy inspo, but I never would have thought of it!!!
Love the pink wall, the hanging chair, the curtains, the dining table painted white, the furniture placement and the pink ceiling lamp. I have always hated that Ikea lamp in its natural colour but the pink makes it look so much better. You guys did such a great job. Looking forward to more of these.

Cute transformation but feel like the picture frames and matting should be darker. The pictures fade away into the wall.
Yeah, I think some golden frames would look sooo much better
I think her original art work might have been more present. The art used seemed to fade into the walls.

You can get cord covers and they are like plastic strips that stick onto a wall and the cord neatly sits inside.
It’s Jess I rent. Do they come off easily?
But with floor lamps and stuff does that mean I need a cord cover to go all along the baseboard?
Royal one the ones I’ve seen don’t come off easily 😬 you can wrap your actual cords in contact or string to make them more appealing to look at though

I also would have put bolder art above the television. The art gets kind of lost on the wall.
You can easily paint over it, no issues
Same though. I'd want to move the dots around and painting is such a hassle.

"The art gets kids if lost on the wall" - would you mind explaining this sentence to me?
