My 4 year old will sometimes ask to watch “you know mom, the video where they make over the room and surprise someone and they say ‘WOW!’” Haha! She likes Graham and points him out every time she sees him on screen. She also has decided that she wants to ‘style’ our house and we find our items moved about! She wants to makeover her room into a safari room and is very excited to help us and be like your show!
Okay, but how did yall know that this is exactly what I'm looking for to decorate my own space?? I can never find bold, colorful, almost chaotic decor ideas and make it come together, but you NAILED this! Amazing!
Same here. I am slowly decorating my house and want bold and colourful, mixed with dark and moody. I don't want neutral colour schemes. This really gave me a few design ideas
I am 100% sure that I lived in that exact unit with my sister from 2009 to 2017. It was absolutely wild to recognize it! Love the fun colourful take!!! And I wish we had those swinging doors into the kitchen! Such a great idea!
I recently decided to stop pretending that everything needed to be beige and "sophisticated" and went full on Grandma Rave. 😂 I LOVE this eclectic style!! Props to everyone!
One thing: I think you remove the masking tapes too late. Paint should not be allowed to dry completely with the tape on because when you pull it, it can chip away paint from where you want to keep it. Basically as soon as you are done with all your coats and the paint is not dripping any more is when the tape should be removed for the best, crispest result ☺️
I honestly had some initial doubts about how that magenta was gonna vibe with the green... but holy disco cowgirl glam realness, it turned out so perfect! Everything works beautifully and seamlessly together and has such a good lighthearted and fun energy to it. Love it! ❤️
I need to say this again!James editing skills are of the charts! So so fun!! The makeover is amazing. I like seeing all of the different styles living together nicely!
There are SO many things I loved about this video: the pink trim! the saloon doors! the flush mount light! the tiger print! The color!!!! But most of all - James' heroic editing steals the show. I dieddddd at Carla's "I'm just the video person!" and especially the "epilogue" section of the outtakes after the reveal section. Hysterical. Please include more "behind the scenes" / team being goofy footage - it makes it feel like we the viewers are part of the team and in on the fun.
Love this video, I love how you designed the space more to their taste and not just because it's on trend. Super fun love it. Definitely inspired me to be more adventurous to what is more what I like in home decor rather than what is on trend and not worrying what everyone else thinks in what a space should be
Great Video! So proud of Graham, Alexandra and the entire AG Team - you guys are hitting it out of the ball park and I look forward to Team AG's ongoing evolution - a special shout out to thank you for sponsoring Thumper while I was away! He's a superrrrstar!
no joke, her inspiration photos look like my place, and are my colour palette. It's nice to see someone else loving that style, because I know I'm a maximalist and love over top prints and bold colours which not everyone is into.
I love how you’re able to do totally different styles for different people. With each one, you adopt the style and then go all in, creating a little and complete world. I’d say this is one of your best but I’ve said that for so many of your makeovers lately. (Though James’ apartment is still my favorite). What a wonderful living room and so glad you did this for one of your team members!
I’m so surprised that you picked green for the sofa. There was four sofas in the inspo pics, three of which were pink/peach and only one was green. Team AG! A client screaming out for a pink sofa! This was the perfect opportunity to use one without it being your own choice! 🤣 Still looks amazing. As always 😊
The ending!! 😂😂😍 The room turned out soo fun and colorful, but the absolute best part is the bantering between you and team AG! Just love the fun and loving wibe you have going on! ❤️
Hi everyone that’s the most surprising video ever . I would never have thought of putting those colours together !! The room works so well … it’s stunning 😊
I have been WAITING AND PRAYING for you guys to do more stuff that’s colorful and wild like this. It’s my favvv style and I can’t wait to paint doorways and molding like that one day!!!
Love this room! It's eclectic but so put together. I find it so personal. Almost as though had the girls been able to do decorate this is exactly how they would do it.
I am OBSESSED with this makeover. Probably my favorite makeover to date! The rose gold disco ball, amazing! But my favorite part was the horseshoes on the door painted gold!! I love it all so much!
There is so much to love here. Starting with the incredible ceiling lamp. It's like a gorgeous molecule. The swinging doors (complete with horseshoes) are amazing. The tiger print is so dramatic and the mirror ball is a dazzler. Alexandra, Graham and the team have outdone themselves and that is saying a lot.
Love the transformation and so fun seeing Oxford's own, One of a Kind Antique Mall coming in with the conversation pieces. So glad you found the disco-vibes stall!
Prep day is not boring!!! It’s so exciting to me to build furniture, because then you have furniture!!! It’s all exciting to me. I love the initial color reveals… all of it.
I'm always looking forward to the "bloopers" section after you say goodbye, because I always piss myself laughing at your antics. You have such a great team and it looks like you genuinly have so much fun working on these makeovers, it's such a joy to watch!
I wish the dark green wall was a happier color. Love the saloon doors. I did the same thing with louvered saloon doors in my condo with an open doorway to the kitchen, it works.
The room turned out beautiful and fun. Such a great job! Graham is so talented in his woodworking not to mention what a fun guy he is. Love his sense of humor. You guys all work so well together and have such a great time filming.
This is what I want my house to look like! I love literally everything (well I wouldn’t use the doors in my house, but they still look good here). That’s never happened before
When I first started watching your videos, I didn't really like the colors or the taste in paintings or wall decor... but then the more I watched the more I liked watching the process of making it cozy and working for different people and tackling different styles, and I saw more of the colors I like (such as green) and other bold statements and overall just nice stuff to watch and give me ideas for my own nest. There's moments when I ran out of Alexandra Gater videos and would have to wait. I can definitely see a progress from the first videos to what it is now your business and hobby and I love it. I wish there wasn't an ocean between us so I can dream of you tackling spaces that are closer to home when the time comes. Keep up the good work, bringing light in people's lives with your smiles and beautiful colors and candles!
Alexandra. I am 65. I just love watching your channel. I live in Florida, but still work. Watch you on my days off. Love your teams personalities. Can't get enough of you.
Ok, this makeover surprised me! I would not do this in my own house but somehow, I loved how this turned out, such a fun, stylish room!!! You overdid yourself!
I love this makeover so much. It's fun and whimsical. I wasn't sure about the colors on the walls working together, but they do and it looks amazing. The sofa is my favorite item in the room. I wish I could get one of them but they're just a bit out of my price range. One day I will have one. You and your team always do such incredible makeovers. However, this one was so different and beautiful.
I love this eclectic style! This makeover and James' are probably the closest to my personal style I've seen! While the makeover looks great as always, something about the wall paint didn't do it for me. I think it was the combination of two very bold colors both on one side of the room that seems a little overwhelming. That being said, I'm still always so inspired by these videos and hope to one day be able to decorate half as good as you guys do!
Your designs are always amazing- but what I just love the most is that each design is layered with happiness. You are all inspiring and beautiful people. Keep going!☮️🌹
@@AlexandraGater Everything is sooo good! What happened to their little bookcase in the living room they had before your awesome makeover? Did they keep it or was it thrifted? Just curious.
One of my favorite makeovers from team AG yet!! You put so much personality into the space but it doesn’t feel overwhelming at all and it’s still SUPER functional - definitely want to channel this balance into my own place where the goal is boho brooklyn loft + colorful eclectic (but is currently cozy college apt 😅)
Oh my gosh Alexandra this makeover is just the coolest. I love the colors they really give this space such a cool cowboy vibe, love those saloon doors those are really awesome. All of your videos really give me so much inspiration to get busy on decorating my space, if the weather would just get better I could for sure paint my walls in the livingroom, and do a lot of DIYing in the doorways and steps up into the kitchen. I have close to 200 house plants and want to eventually build a sunporch on the front of my house which would be so perfect to put most all of my plants out there and also build a catio for my cats. Once again I want to thank you and also Graham for being so incredible, team AG is so cool. I hope that you have a blessed and happy day, sending love and hugs, bye! 🤗😂😻👋👍🙏💜💜💜💕💖
What a fun make-over, smiling here! And what a fun video! It doesn't matter what your own style is, this is just a happy place and vid! Btw, Alana has talent as a vlogger!
LOOVVVEEEE! Graham and Alexandra banter is such a mood! Alexandra I've watched you for a while and the way you're growing and maturing with your designs is beautiful! There are still some gimmicky stuff like that neon slay light stuck to a battery pack or the plant hanging off the curtain pole which would hinder movement of the curtains which themselves are see- through without any underlying blinds. But overall, every video is like watching you hit new milestones in design goals! Love it!! ❤️❤️❤️
Sooooo love this video. From the eclectic style, to the dualing vacuums, to the team collabing, wicked awesome job Team AG! (And that light fixture, omgee!)
OMG loved this one!! I love that you are always doing different styles. This was so fun to watch and see how everything came together! Disco cowgirl is a vibe
While I really wouldn’t want any of this in my living room, I still admire the massive transformation you guys brought about here. The saloon Doors are genius as is the ceilling light, the gum ball machine, the rug and the pink disco Ball. Way to go team AG🎉❤🎉

Cute. I painted the baseboard trims in an even brighter magenta in my daughter's bedroom, as the bright green paint she chose did not work with the golden oak floor. The magenta acted as an interesting transition and fooled the eye into making clashing hues acceptable. Love the swinging doors, very pretty.
Love the saloon doors and all the colors you used! The couch was so much better and so was the TV mount. This place looks so much better with a round table too.
This is so spot on to my style! I’ve spent the last few months curating my apartment with this same kind of vibe- retro, disco, fun! I love the colours and the styling!
I love love LOVE everything you guys did in the space. Colors on point, light fixture - gorgeous, salon door - immaculate, gallery wall 🥰 I can't I just can't, soooo gooood!!! I wish for more makeovers like this❤
I can’t with that vacuum showdown 💀😂😂😂 Okay also, the room is so cool! Really enjoyed seeing a more eclectic aesthetic as that’s what I’m drawn to myself, and that flush mount light was just *chef’s kiss*
I thought the living room was so cute to start with (except for the tv table maybe, lol), but the finished product was chef's kiss! Alexandra is amazing!
I love it! the colors are great and i love the pink borders! One suggestion I always thought of. I feel like making placements on the kitchen tables make such a difference
The saloon doors really made such a difference in separating the space from the kitchen while still allowing light!

This is so spot on to my style! I’ve spent the last few months curating my apartment with this same kind of vibe- retro, disco, fun! I love the colours and the styling!
As the years pass, your style matures beautifully! I love it.
I love love LOVE everything you guys did in the space. Colors on point, light fixture - gorgeous, salon door - immaculate, gallery wall 🥰 I can't I just can't, soooo gooood!!! I wish for more makeovers like this❤
This makeover is 100% my aesthetic! So fab! Imagine if you did a makeover that was entirely Taylor swift themed because I’d be here for that too! 🥰
Team AG always portray positive vibe!! Love every makeover video! ❤
That style fits them you guys did good and once again Graham did good with the salon doors love it ❤ can't wait till the next one
The streaky green looks really cool. Like a surreal forest.
I can’t with that vacuum showdown 💀😂😂😂 Okay also, the room is so cool! Really enjoyed seeing a more eclectic aesthetic as that’s what I’m drawn to myself, and that flush mount light was just *chef’s kiss*
I liked it but then it made me aware of the popcorn ceiling...🤢 lol
Team AG took all these items and color combinations that I would normally dislike, and created a total effect that is beautiful.
I thought the living room was so cute to start with (except for the tv table maybe, lol), but the finished product was chef's kiss! Alexandra is amazing!
You need your own show. I like how you sit and explain everything in between "scenes"
finally someone that dares! colours, colours!
I love it! the colors are great and i love the pink borders! One suggestion I always thought of. I feel like making placements on the kitchen tables make such a difference
yessss all of the colour, the velvet sofa, I am so excited for this one 😍
Love the Saloon Doors. Graham is so talented. That Bubble light is everything!
