I have had very good luck with Gorilla tape when patching a Harbor Freight 10ft x 17ft canvas building. So far it has lasted 2 years without any type of failure. T-Rex has worked well when applied in weather below 32 degrees F in the same application as the Gorilla tape was used.
Hi, Phil Swift here with Flex Tape! The super-strong waterproof tape! That can instantly patch, bond, seal, and repair! Flex tape is no ordinary tape; its triple thick adhesive virtually welds itself to the surface, instantly stopping the toughest leaks. Leaky pipes can cause major damage, but Flex Tape grips on tight and bonds instantly! Plus, Flex Tape’s powerful adhesive is so strong, it even works underwater! Now you can repair leaks in pools and spas in water without draining them! Flex Tape is perfect for marine, campers and RVs! Flex Tape is super strong, and once it's on, it holds on tight! And for emergency auto repair, Flex Tape keeps its grip, even in the toughest conditions! Big storms can cause big damage, but Flex Tape comes super wide, so you can easily patch large holes. To show the power of Flex Tape, *I sawed this boat in half*! And repaired it with only Flex Tape! Not only does Flex Tape’s powerful adhesive hold the boat together, but it creates a super strong water tight seal, so the inside is completly dry! Yee-doggy! Just cut, peel, stick and seal! Imagine everything you can do with the power of Flex Tape! There you go. The more you know!
Thank you very much! I've already purchased Flex Seal and am in the middle of test design. I've other other rubberized spray products to compare it against. Should be interesting.

OMG! This is THE best product review video I have every seen on TH-cam. Usually it is bubbas spouting opinions and BS. But you used science!!!!! So awesome. The next test might be longevity. I've seen duct tape on HVAC ducts that had dried out and let go. I used, I think it was Gorilla tape, to patch a 4 inch diameter hole in the bottom of a kayak. That was 4 or 5 years ago. It is still in great shape- no leaks! Thanks again for a great video!
Project Farm You're very welcone! The editing has improved a lot since diesel in a lawnmower, and wooden piston. I also really enjoyed the clear cylinder head, and cooking bacon in the crankcase.
Excellent testing! I just bought a roll of T-Rex tape yesterday at Office Depot. They're selling the rolls for 2 bucks each on clearance. Get 'em while you can. Original price is $6.
Codie Kennedy I currently use gorilla as my heavy duty and 3m duct tape as my standard, when my gorilla runs out I’m going to give Trex it’s place in the tool box.

A while ago I found this tape called FiberFix tape. It’s a black and red woven plastic and from my testing it simply will not rip. Decent adhesion too. It would be interesting to see how it compares to the other premium brands, I don’t think it was that expensive either. Love these videos!
Michael York It would work great for that, drill a couple holes on either side of the crack and run zip ties through for reinforcement, then put a layer of flex seal or fiber tape over it. Sanding a little will help adhesion
Dear Project Farm, Thank you immensely for these videos. There are a THOUSAND times I have been at a store trying to decide what product is best for what I need. (SIDE NOTE: I ride a 1980s Japanese motorcycle, there's always something falling off/breaking) So these videos you produce are FANTASTIC, literally the meaning of the word. I use your videos as a guide when purchasing products in stores now. And I am very proud to report that your investigations, if you will, are SPOT ON!!, Most likely because you have no financial vestment in these products. I think that is your strongest asset. You aren't beholden to a corporation. You're not selling anything. You are giving REAL WORLD factual data. Something that is becoming harder to find. Thank you again! Sincerely, Magnanvox50
Again I'm impressed with how far you have come in your testing. Very accurate and fair testing. Use caution or some company is going to want to hire you for an underpaid , over worked job testing their products as long as you don't prove theirs to be bad or harmful to ants in South Africa.
Thank you for putting up informative videos, unlike a lot of the junk on youtube. Youre objective and try to test these products scientifically, which I appreciate. I hope your subscriber base continues to grow so you can test other more expensive products too!
*Project Farm* Another home run video, you are very creative in your testing and it is excellent to see unbiased testing as a principle. I used to like reading consumer reports back in the day, now I just refer to you and your channel. Have a great day!
As a former videographer and sound technician, I can tell you that the primary purpose of Gaffers tape is to tape down wires and keep things from moving for a relatively short period of time. You want a tape that comes off easily and leaves no residue so that you don’t add hours to the load out. In addition, you absolutely don’t want to damage any finishes that could cost more to repair than you made. The other tapes are designed for longer term use requiring strength, grip, and sealing ability. I would love to see links in your description to the comparison charts that I could access while in a hardware store looking for products. It takes time to find a chart in the video and it is hard to read when paused. What would be really cool would be a single chart with all of the test results for each product together separated by product. Then you could pick the best product to fill any need at a glance. Thanks for all your incredible work!
"I only work for the the subscribers of this channel" is the best part of your videos. And your videos are the best. You've saved us a lot of money and frustration something everyone loves. Keep up the good work.
Woo-wee! At some point the high cost of some of the products is going to be more of a deciding factor than what they can do. *Still super cool knowing just how much better some products can perform.
You can glue the hurricane tape onto the flex tape with crazy glue, or put the flex tape over the hurricane tape since the width is double. I always used hurricane tape on antennas and stuff because it doesn't react with the antenna when wet (outdoors) and rain beads off of it. When you make your own antennas using tape tends to work until it gets rained on or dirt starts sticking to it and then it causes your antenna to detune.
I have a heated laminator, I have scrap non stick backing. Not sure how laminating will work with hurricane tapes adhesive. I suppose the next question is if it will need a layer of non stick so it won't become a solid puck after the re-wind. My scrap release liner is 50lb or 12 point. Would make a super thick roll. A thinner polymer release liner would probably be better for a production test run.
Honestly, these products are absolutely the majority of my discretionary spending and because I have not done tests, but just from experience, I’m sooo glad to find that the products I’ve spent a premium on being proven correct. Thank you so much projectfarm!!!
Man I love this channel! Although that said, don't think a shear test is fair to FlexTape, as it's not advertised for use like that, rather a sealing tape, like roofing seams or such, and at that, especially when it sat in the sun a bit, shows it does work at, which you mentioned at the end. Need to buy regular duct tape soon, and will start watching for one of the better testing ones from you to come on sale hopefully. Thank you for your work, and keep doing your comparisons and other testing please.
Well in that case it's not fair to the duct tapes to submerge them, almost none advertise for sealing leaks underwater. I think the test was great and well rounded, they all have different strengths/weaknesses, this was putting actual numbers to those differences and there were quite a few surprises, imo.
Can you please do this same test on double sided tapes like the different 3M and gorilla tapes so we can know which one is best for attaching car parts on the body? That would help a lot!
seropserop There's a 1" exterior grade Scotch branded tape called 'exterior mounting tape'. This is used my many auto dealers to mount emblems, etc. I've used it several times and never seen anything better for double sided tape.
Project Farm thank you so much! I've been looking for a comparison video forever to see which one would hold better when the spoiler starts to want to lift from the sides!
Thanks for all your time and effort. Really good job, I watched the other tape videos as well. very clever testing also, I wouldn't have know were to start. You have saved me some money and a lot of effort. I have been a Gorilla and Hurricane tape fan, but I have been unhappy with the Hurricane tape, you have proven why. Thanks again, keep up the great work.
Todd Excellent content. I don't think I could've done a better video myself. Thank you for changing up the music much better.time to blow up some engines. Lol . Excellent editing, great film maker. Thank you General repair
Thank you very much for the positive comments! I sure wish I had access to more music selections. As it is, I'm boxed into using a very short list of songs or else I face copyright problems. I'll keep searching for more good quality music. Thanks again!
I've used the Gorilla Tape for about two years now to repair tears in my Weber Grill covers and to tape two sections of Bamboo Bean Poles together for my Pole Beans in my garden. It works quite well for my needs. I don't have much experience with the others, and your video was quite helpful comparing the advantages and disadvantages of each brand for particular applications. Thank you...
Would love to see a comparison test for VHB / UHB tape products. Your ability to come up with ways to conduct the tests is awesome...the outcome(s) are icing on the cake.
Great tape review! Well planned and presented. Also made with scientific touch. Special thanks for the courtesy of using also European standards! Love your other videos too.
I specifically watched this video hoping that I would find the best tape for different surfaces since I already have 3 different brands (3m, gorilla, duct tape) but they won’t stick to many different surfaces that I’ve tried, so I believe that the only test here that was missing is different surfaces
Thank you for the feedback. Tapes are designed to work well on smooth glossy surfaces and most don't perform well on fabric or things that don't allow the adhesive to grip the entire surface of the object being taped. Glues, epoxies, and adhesive products that can flow can better attach to porous materials. Hope this helps!
Project Farm yes very true, thank you for replying, I just wanted to see which one had better adhesión to different surfaces so I could purchase that tape, I really liked all your tests and appreciate all the Hard work you do o to demonstrate the best Results, thank you
You are JUST TOO GOOD!!! Every project is exhaustively thorough and each Video is a masterpiece!! My only fear in the quality of your testing and video's is that someday soon, one of the national television company's will take you away from us so they can use you for their own network! YOU ARE THAT GOOD!!!
Sir, even 4 years ago you were the man! You answer so much, thank you for what you do. Here is something that only you could test & review correctly, how about RV roof sealants and tapes? With all the new RV’s out there on the road there are bound to be questions about respective repair products. Again, absolutely love your channel, professionalism, your scientific approach and creative thought process that goes into your tests, and your graphs. If I am going out to buy something that matters, you best believe I check your channel first to see if you have tested them.
I mean, not really... you pay 13 bucks for 5 freakin feet dude. For about 30 bucks you're getting nearly 180 ft of nuclear tape. It's absolutely ridiculous how much the flex tape costs in comparison.
The Slow Motion and the underwater tank shots are greatly appreciated…. answering the eternal duct tape questions is also a most noble quest… I’m trying to figure which brand would repair a radiator hose or a split plastic radiator seam … which actually happened to me….
Project Farm my car take 4L of oil i drained 2L and replaced it with ATF and drove it to 250Km and when i checked the it was very dark so i think it did help.
As a new dad, and starting my metamorphosis into taking the dad shape. It’s channels like this that disprove all the myths my father drilled into my head. Data like this makes my heart flutter. Subbed!
A UV test would be great...leave them outside on the plexi for variable amounts of time and see what happens, week, month, year ? Possibly different ones with all of them and ones with just a single so you can see what happens over time, or we can see......

Thanks for the suggestions.
The real test is being able to repair a boat sawed in half
Great point!
"..Harbor Freight is leaking and I haven't even peeled it off the roll yet"
Ok we where at 26 pounds of pressure
Tape explodes camera shuts off
FBI OPEN UP
LOL!
That was cringeworthy but it was made two months ago so I dont care
NUKE DROPS
Project Farm what about eb green? The navy uses it
Time stamp?
"I only work for the the subscribers of this channel" is the best part of your videos. And your videos are the best. You've saved us a lot of money and frustration something everyone loves. Keep up the good work.
Thank you very much!
Great video, love the unbiased information!!!
Thank you!
The tape holding the weights on the end of the tank underwater is the most impressive!
I was thinking that too . What is that tape
5:35 the tape was like stfu xd
AKROMUSTO lol
I thought you funny guys are supposed to comment oh yeah yeah
Got me on a binge...up since 7am watching... its 9:30 now and still going. Great job.
Thanks for watching!
Woo-wee! At some point the high cost of some of the products is going to be more of a deciding factor than what they can do.
*Still super cool knowing just how much better some products can perform.
Great point. Thanks!
Laminate hurricane tape on top of flex tape and THAT will be the best tape.
Great recommendation! That'd be an unbeatable combination!
Layer of Flex Tape
Layer of Hurricane
Layer of Flex Tape
Unbeatable.
Project Farm how about all of them stacked
To show you the power of Flex tape
I SAWED THIS BOAT IN HALF
lol
Honestly, these products are absolutely the majority of my discretionary spending and because I have not done tests, but just from experience, I’m sooo glad to find that the products I’ve spent a premium on being proven correct. Thank you so much projectfarm!!!
Thanks for watching!
Great constructive feedback. Thank you!
Yes, I'll definitely test double-sided tape. Thank you for the video idea!
seropserop There's a 1" exterior grade Scotch branded tape called 'exterior mounting tape'. This is used my many auto dealers to mount emblems, etc. I've used it several times and never seen anything better for double sided tape.
seropserop didn't know that was obvious - just trying to offer help -
Project Farm thank you so much! I've been looking for a comparison video forever to see which one would hold better when the spoiler starts to want to lift from the sides!
Another great video. You really put a lot of thought into your testing methods.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Todd
Excellent content. I don't think I could've done a better video myself. Thank you for changing up the music much better.time to blow up some engines. Lol . Excellent editing, great film maker.
Thank you
General repair
Thank you very much for the positive comments! I sure wish I had access to more music selections. As it is, I'm boxed into using a very short list of songs or else I face copyright problems. I'll keep searching for more good quality music. Thanks again!
Try elecrtical tape use a microvave oven transformer and a variac to see at witch voltage the tape burns trough
Thank you for this recommendation!
these are really good tests
Thank you!
@@ProjectFarm hi
I've used the Gorilla Tape for about two years now to repair tears in my Weber Grill covers and to tape two sections of Bamboo Bean Poles together for my Pole Beans in my garden. It works quite well for my needs. I don't have much experience with the others, and your video was quite helpful comparing the advantages and disadvantages of each brand for particular applications. Thank you...
You are welcome!
Would love to see a comparison test for VHB / UHB tape products. Your ability to come up with ways to conduct the tests is awesome...the outcome(s) are icing on the cake.
Thank you for the video idea!
Great tape review! Well planned and presented. Also made with scientific touch. Special thanks for the courtesy of using also European standards! Love your other videos too.
Thank you very much!
Thank you!
I love it,,,this is straight out of the Possum Lodge and the Red Green show,,,Ducktape!!!
Thanks for watching!
Husband: What’s for dinner?
Wife: Duck Tape.
LOL!
Oh
duct
fun fact : Duct tape was actually called Duck tape back in the vietnam war as it was waterproof
@@idkidk3378 I should probably search this up myself but why is it now called duct tape
Dang i have never seen such a fair test before lol
Thanks
The amount of ingenuity in your testing methodology is your slogan, very impressive. Absolutely love your videos.
Thanks!
Just watched some Red Green before this. I think that was fitting. 😋
Thank you!
BTW, looks like some of these tapes really are the "handyman's secret weapon". 😎
you should try different types of wood glues and resins.
Thank you for the video idea!
You should do which Razer blades are the best
Thank you for the video idea!
The 15" pro, probably.
Razer blade stealth
Sir, even 4 years ago you were the man! You answer so much, thank you for what you do. Here is something that only you could test & review correctly, how about RV roof sealants and tapes? With all the new RV’s out there on the road there are bound to be questions about respective repair products. Again, absolutely love your channel, professionalism, your scientific approach and creative thought process that goes into your tests, and your graphs. If I am going out to buy something that matters, you best believe I check your channel first to see if you have tested them.
Thanks so much! Thanks for the suggestion.
Great video, I mean it. I concluded from it that flex tape seems to be the most price effective
Thank you!
I mean, not really... you pay 13 bucks for 5 freakin feet dude. For about 30 bucks you're getting nearly 180 ft of nuclear tape. It's absolutely ridiculous how much the flex tape costs in comparison.
Do the tank test after you heat the tape
Great recommendation!
Welcome to the most useful cooking show on TH-cam 😂
lol
@@ProjectFarm cook the tape at 400° for 5 years and watch the results are surprisingly amazing 😂
The Slow Motion and the underwater tank shots are greatly appreciated…. answering the eternal duct tape questions is also a most noble quest… I’m trying to figure which brand would repair a radiator hose or a split plastic radiator seam … which actually happened to me….
Thanks for the suggestion.
THAT'S A LOT OF DAMAGE
Great quote!
@@ProjectFarm it's cool u know the meme lol
6:59 “Let it soak in the oven” 💀
Thank you!
Just said that aloud to myself.
i did put ATF in my car engine crank case because of you 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣
Did it help?
i also want to know
Project Farm my car take 4L of oil i drained 2L and replaced it with ATF and drove it to 250Km and when i checked the it was very dark so i think it did help.
Thanks for coming back and doing the premium tapes.
You are welcome!
5:35 ok so we were at 26 pounds of pressu- *explodes*
That was crazy! lol
Your voice reminds me of the Banana Guards from Adventure Time!
lol. Thank you
As a new dad, and starting my metamorphosis into taking the dad shape. It’s channels like this that disprove all the myths my father drilled into my head. Data like this makes my heart flutter. Subbed!
Thanks!

lol.
Unknown Unknown you mean 5:36
RockyZ no, he's right.
I actually laughed

Phil swift:Use the flex tape
Anakin:Wut!

Haha
Jontron would be proud
Thank you! He's a very funny guy!
i'm proud
hope you didnt sniff so much flex tape to see martians
I usually buy the Nashua 357. Glad this test proved that it's pretty reliable. Ty!
Thank you!
I wonder if at the end of filming and editing this video on adhesive tapes , Project Farm Guy exclaimed.. "It's A Wrap!"
lol. Nice!
A UV test would be great...leave them outside on the plexi for variable amounts of time and see what happens, week, month, year ? Possibly different ones with all of them and ones with just a single so you can see what happens over time, or we can see......
Great recommendation. I began a UV test 6 months ago. I'll provide an update in a few more months.
