- I HATE VACUUMING!!! I have an expensive Dyson and yet I vacuum maybe once a month. Especially with dogs there is hair and dust everywhere. I needed an easier solution to solve my everyday life problems. The iRobot Roomba Vacuum i7+ solves those issues by making my life easier with a self emptying bin.
I saw online that Costco was selling the Roomba i8+. The biggest difference between this and the i7+ on iRobot's website is that the i8+ has a slightly bigger battery, extra filters, dirt disposable bags, as well as a virtual wall sensor.

Thanks for a Great Review! Just wondering what your experience and thoughts are regarding the Roomba vacuuming along 4” baseboards throughout the house. I have heard some people indicate that the Zoomba leaves a black line when vacuuming along that part of the cleaning.
So it doesn’t get the baseboards right along it which sucks. No black line but you can tell that it wasn’t vacuumed. Not crazy noticeable but I do use my handheld to get those edges maybe once a month. This way I don’t forget how to vacuum.
I bought Roomba i8 on sale $125 off at Costco. This thing works way better than i expected.

It can for basic cleaning! But the app helps the roomba with mapping etc

A função de aspirar para o saco, só acontece se o recipiente para onde foi o lixo estiver cheio, ou cada vez que regressa a base, “clean base”?. Na primeira semana que utilizei, apercebi-me que esta função se activou. Tenho um gato e no sei se dessa vez, aspirou mais pelos ou outras sujidades. Hoje, por exemplo e a semana passada, aspirei o apartamento, mas quando regressou a base, não activou a aspiração para o saco. Para a Clear base. Se puder explicar-me, agradeço muito. I understand the mapping that it does which is great but how do you do your 2 story house. Do you just carry the roomba upstairs and then bring it down to the bin or bring both upstairs . Thanks
Yes carry it upstairs and it maps a new floor. Only thing is you can’t use the self emptying dust bin unless you bring both up
@@EverydayChris Chris I splurged and got the i8+ from Costco. We're in the midst of a house reno 🤪 but the upstairs is pretty much done with carpeting etc. I thought I was tech savvy but when I set it up to do mapping I brought the base upstairs, plugged it in and on the app chose mapping and brought the roomba into the MBR to start. I closed the bathroom doors and figured the roomba would go from the mbr then thru the hallway and do the other two bedrooms.
It didn't do that. Am I doing something wrong? Should I just be making each room individually?
Try resetting it and letting it create a brand new floor mapping !

Ok so I have 2 dogs one is a huge guard dog and one is a tiny schnauzer and the only one that barks at the Roomba was our guard dog. I wonder if she will actually protect me

I'm confused about the no instructions for mapping on the app. Do you open all doors and let it vacuum the whole house and then a map magically appears?
Yes! You can do a vacuum cleaning session or do a map run so it saves battery. Clean up. Turn on some lights and let it map the entire home

How do you like it? We have 2700 sq ft carpet, tile and vinyl. One Persian cat and 1 girl. Concerned about pet hair and ability to clean carpets. Any issues with emptying the dirt bin or hair breaking or getting stuck on rollers etc? How is the maintenance? Does it auto detect when the on-board bin is full and go back to the base for a clean or does it keep cleaning but doing a poor job because the bin is full? Does the robot detect when the outside waste bin bag is full?
Any issues scuffing or damaging furniture?

I was really happy with the roomba, so i got the S9+ for my second floor. Turns out it was really bad at mapping and got struck alot so i sent it back an tried something new. I bought a roborock S7 with an auto empty dock. I much prefer it over anything roomba makes. It doesnt bump into things like the roomba's all do. I would highly recommend looking for a robot with lidar at this point. My roomba has been relegated to my basement it does a great job on carpets but not nearly as efficient at moving around, getting its work done in a timely manner or not getting stuck as a robot with lidar. Roomba's get lost, bump into things hard and have a propensity for getting stuck.

How does it perform with objects on the floor? Such as power cords, socks, pet toys...etc.
It’s not the newest so it definitely sucks up power cords but not pet toys or socks
It can untangle cords by it self.
Hi Chris - we just bought the i8 from Costco and ran it once so far. I am hoping once we run it a few more times we will understand how the mapping works. We want to do the bathroom floor every other day and haven't figured that out yet. Also, we have a finished lower level and am wondering if we have to bring the entire unit downstairs when we want it to vacuum? What's UP David!!! Yes. Keep running it and check your app and it will show you a map of your floor plan. Then you adjust it to different rooms and on the app will be a schedule where you can set it to run every other day AFTER it creates a floor plan. You can also bring it to a different level but would have to create a NEW floor plan. I love it and it works great. It really feels like I paid a cleaner to come clean our house but there isn't one! Yes! It will create a new map to the new floor that way bob can vacuum the new floor. You will have to move the base unit and the roomba which is the most work the humans do haha
@@EverydayChris Hi Chris ... another question for you ... Bob finished his mapping and we named all the rooms on the main floor. If we move Bob and the base temporarily to the lower level to vacuum those floors will we lose the mapping / named rooms etc on the main floor ? Can Bob store the mapping / room layouts for both the main floor and lower level without getting confused as to where he is, as we will be moving him upstairs / downstairs as needed. Apparently it can remember up to 10 floor plans. It does remember the floor plans that it maps out!
Do you have a second one for multiple floors or are you using the same one if so how are you doing this?
I'm using the same one! I just bring up the roomba and let it vacuum upstairs on it's own. It creates a new floor plan as well.

Hi Hailey! I just take the roomba upstairs and let it vacuum and when it’s done cleaning Or needs to be emptied I bring it back down. Haha you also won’t lose your floor plan as it can store multiple. Just bring the roomba upstairs and press clean

Very well once it sets up the map. I run mine in the dark all the time
I’ve recently bought this, but cannot get it to mop? Keeps telling me the bin is full before it even starts the mop
Weird. Try force restart and remove bin and mop pad and reinstall

Haha thank you!!! Isn’t the s9 more expensive? I can say they redesigned the brushes so it cleans better and also they made it square shaped so it cleans the corners better! If you can afford it cop the s9. But for me the i8 works good enough
My roomba sucked up water that was spilled by my dog. It didn’t cause any damage but I need a new filter.
