I was just complaining to myself yesterday that I couldn’t find any good TH-cam videos demoing the new update, and then you make this video and I’m so glad you did!
I love my I7. I got one after my cheap robot vac died. It's sturdy, and a lot smarter than my previous. I love how if I get crumbs or something in the kitchen I can tell my google home to get the vacuum to clean the kitchen and it'll go. It's super handy. The zones are a little off though, and the button on the top takes ages to respond imo. I do love it though. I'm moving internationally next year, and I told my husband that I'm taking it with me (even though it'll void warranty, lol)
I’ve enjoyed my Roombas for two decades! What I really want is a thread/matter enabled Roomba with no intermediary. I want to shout out, “Roomba come here and clean the kitchen!” “Roomba, get out from under that furniture!” “Roomba, make a noise if you can hear me, I know you are stuck somewhere!”
One thing I like about iJustine. Her videos quality either 1080 or 4k are way better than most (if not all) "professional photographers videos". They must learn from her!!
Why she didn't mention cons? Braava can't: - can't mop in a schedule after i7 (you have to create schedules in each robot separately). It has an option "mop after vacum" but it works only for manual starting not scheduled - it can't return to the base station if was incidentally lifted durning cleaning (if get stuck). When get lost starts clean whole area not only scheduled - can't return if taked manually to a spot clean - can't set to mop the floor paraller to floor panel layout (as showed in the video), braava choose moping way depend on surface dimensions, and often is against the panel layout. You can't choose the proper way for each room/floor. Smudges are visible when it mops against the layout. - base station dock plate gets slippery after wet mopping and often braava can't leave the base, need glue some stickers to get better friction - can't use the proximity sensors in proper way,, often hard bumps obstacles like a crazy blind - sometime can't find the way to selected room (no obstacles at all), it seems that for each start it calculates differ way, do t know why - is much dumber than i7, often get lost, can't find the room or just mop differ rooms that scheduled, - when get stuck and wait for a help battery is drained fast, when you came back home and find lost Braava battery is so low that it can't finish the job - app can't show on the map where is the robot now, it shows only name of the room - creating a "smart map" takes a lot of time if you have a big house (need minium 3 training runs), can't copy map to another robot, if you have i7 first and it already has the map it can't transfer it to a new robot for avoid training runs. - "smart map" are not so smart, somtiemes show non existent doors between rooms, which need manuall edit and separation (which is a bit tricky) - can't edit/correct walls on the map, you can only divide area for separately rooms and name it - most anoying thing is deleting whole schedule when manual updating maps from the previous runs or changing room names, restricted areas etc. - can't mop rooms in an order selected in scheduler (e.g. 1. Kitchen 2. Living room etc), the order is random. There are rumors that this bug will be removed in a new update.
@@donvarri yes, it can return (if lifted) to the base if it is close to base (max 3 meters) and the base is in visual range. Try take it to the other room and let it return. It's start moping randomly finding the way, if incidentally base is close to lifted area it can find the base. But in most cases (when lifted to another room or the distant area) it mostly gave up.
That's wishful thinking. The one we purchased was complete garbage. It always got stuck between objects, disconnected, or brush quit working. We spent more time tryi g to trouble shoot it then it actually cleaned.
@@KLeeFMVs The dirt trap filled up so quick it just pushed the pet hair around in the kitchen. A broom and 2 minutes literally will walk circles around this $1000 paper weight.
@@847MicRoss OH well. Too bad for you. I have a pug and it keeps up on 99% of the hair she sheds. Weird that it's fine for you to broom for 2 minutes but have an issue with dumping out the bin for 10 seconds. You do you though and I'll enjoy my paperweight.
If you have pets, you do have to be careful of two things: 1) If an animal throws up while you are gone and the machine is cleaning, it could smear the mess around. 2) As is number one, an accidental poop could get smeared if it is soft enough. If you have carpet, this could be a significant problem. If you have pets, I recommend never running the devices when not at home. If run while at home, you can watch for any messes before the device runs. Dogs can be kenneled. Cats don't take kindly to that, but if raised that way from kittens it might work. It depends. Also, the iRoomba software is much better than many cheaper brands and so are the devices. Picking up things like wastebaskets and shoes is recommended for best cleaning. I personally like to place those items on white towels wherever, and then washing the towels in a sanitize mode. That's just me. Nice video. I enjoyed it.
I've had a Roomba for two years and its honestly the best and most used bit of kit I have ever bought. I have not vacuumed for two years. Bit of a no-brainer😀 The best part of a robot cleaning your floors, is that your home smells fresher. And I have a small terrier dog shedding pet hair. But you do need a Roomba because the competition does not even come close. 😀
HAHAHA "competition doesn't even come close" I think your brain doesn't work because Roborock and Deebot has PASSED irobot. FYI Jenna’s roomba is the 675 which is the base model that doesn’t have smart navigation like Justine’s so it just randomly bounces around the room, she can’t change any sort of mapping configs in the app.
I sent my m6 back. It took FOREVER to clean the floors. On top of that, even with the overlapping motion, the sprayer only got about 2/3 of the floor wet so it didn’t leave a consistent “shine.” Dry mopping does a better job.
