Only 1 name to remember....ROBOROCK.... I love mine and have had no issues. This is with 2 kids (7 and 2) and 2 dogs (and a cat that died last month). Daily cleaning in the morning while we are getting up and ready. Oh and it was 1/3 of the cost. Downside is it does not empty itself. I can live with that.
Thank you, Chris, for the great review. I have had a Roborock S6 vacuum for three years. It mapped our large first floor once on day one and has never needed any correction or re-mapping since. It can do its work without any light. I've had the Braava Jet M6 for three months. It cannot accurately map the first floor even after multiple attempts. Mapping and routine performance requires light in the desired room. It cannot handle thresholds, but, when speaking to their Help Desk, I was told the "threshold" setting would make that possible, but I would have to re-map the entire first floor again. Since I really wanted most of the mopping done in the kitchen (we have 3 birds), and since the M6 lives in the kitchen, it does a great job. Any other room that has a threshold requires that I pick up the M6 and carry it to that room. It usually knows what room it's in, but not always. One day when I have a lot of free time, I'll try remapping and see if it performs any better. For now, I'm happy I bought it and think it does a fine job with the limitations I mentioned. I would definitely recommend the re-usable microfiber pads. I would also recommend the Bona CONCENTRATED wooden floor cleaner (why pay for shipping water?). Streaking seems only to happen if there is too much cleaning solution in the tank, so use a little less than you think you need.
While I doubt I'll be viewing this type of content anymore next week, Great job on the review. No shilling, clear, concise and to the point. I ended up with the 240, the limitations on the M6 mean you're going to need to set it up in the next room anyways, plus the smaller foot print can get in to tighter places. I used the money saved on the lower entry price to buy extra batteries and reusable pads.
Thanks for a good job done in the video. Having had a 960 for a while and we love it, We decided to upgrade today seeing the deal that would deliver both for less than you paid. Again thanks for the videos. You got a new sub.

I had this same I7 model for about 3 weeks and winded up returning it. It does not do that great of a job to warrant an $800 price tag! My Shark Pro Vaccuum that I bought for $350 does an awesome job with me steering it around in a fraction of the time over the same area! More so, you have to buy those little disposable bags for the trash dispenser tower that are not cheap! I apologize but after spending $800, I have to spend more money continuously to replace tiny disposable trash bags!!??? Uhh I don’t think so! I ve made these comment posts on several TH-cam videos on this thing because I was so disappointed

I have the older version of the braava, it is more of a dry sweep or moist "mop" and we too with light floors, see the wheels streaks as well. Thanks for the video!
In my opinion you should have gotten a braava jet 240 as it has better cleaning ability and is the only mop with vibration. Also the ability to have more batteries is pretty nice if your having to clean a lot and it does a good job. Why I think it’s good is because you don’t really need to mop often
Thanks for the great video. Wow - that crayon could’ve been a HUGE disaster. I’ve never thought of something like that happening. I’ve got an older Roomba 650; looking to step up to an i7+. I’m sold.
I bought the i7+ and the M6 bravva this past week. I kick myself for waiting to purchase this combo. Both products are what I would say “shut the front door” astonishing!!! BTW: I have no carpeting, only a few throw rugs....my home 1200 sq ft 100% vinyl wood planks.

I bought a Deebot on Amazon 3 years ago for under $200. It vacuums the first floor of my house every night. I have to manually dump the contents of the catch bin in the trash but sometimes I forget for a couple of days and it's not a problem, plus that process of emptying and reattaching the bin takes no more than a minute. There is an app that lets you set schedules and choose different cleaning methods or just start a job remotely. The brushes and filters have to be replaced every so often but the app tells you when they need to be replaced and you can buy the very reasonably priced replacement kits on Amazon. It even cleans over thin carpets or an area rug. It's even compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant! Last summer it stopped working unexpectedly and I thought it was a goner but I did some researching on TH-cam and found that these things are easy to take apart to clean or replace the motor via a DIY job. It's continued to run every night since. It does get stuck every once in a while but none of these robot vacuums are perfect. For the price, I highly recommend a Deebot.
I didn't get the mop with it -- just the i7 -- but I've been pretty happy with it so far. We have laminate floors throughout, so we don't have the carpet issues you did (and no kids...so no crayon issue either!), and since we tend to run it during the day when our air conditioning is on, the noise isn't really bad.
Be careful if you have a dog. If your dog has a #2 accident and the vacuum starts up, then ...... if you think the crayon was bad, then this is a nightmare.
Omg this happened to me on three separate occasions, beyond disgusting. My old roommate had FIVE small untrained dogs. I think I may have ptsd, every time I hear a small dog bark I rage.

I had 2 major parts fail on the vac, I did get it used / returned from amazon so there is that but IRobot came through and fixed it for me. I have a J7+ and am relatively happy. I would like to see a way to save the schedule (mine seems to forget the schedule often and I have to manually re-enter it). It also has a docking problem, which can be very frustrating since no docking, no charging. Overall, the costs of supply from Amazon is pretty inexpensive and it keeps the house much cleaner. We have dogs and daily vacuuming makes a huge difference. It also cleans areas I'd never be able to, such as under the couch and beds. I'm seriously considering the robot mop.
Ours is a sheep, rabbit, goat and alpaca farm. (think wool hair and angora everywhere) Stuff gets tracked in and the roomba cleans it up. Happy wife, happy life. See vacuum wars on youtube for detailed reviews and comparisons including hair tests. (why I got the roomba after the roborock)
I got one of the older non smart mapping roombas and I love it. My shark upright vac doesnt do nearly as well on one particular item and thats cat litter. There is no vacuum in the world better at cat litter collection than that roomba. Just purchased the mop for cat litter dist under beds and such. I dont mind having to clear away things or prep for the vac so I wont mind doing so with the mop. I have cats and cat toys are everywhere.
Roomba is a good robot but Roborock by Xiaomi is better because of their laser which maps your apartment instantaneous! Single cleaning session and it`s done with mapping the entire floor. On the other hand Roomba uses cameras which means in pitch black they are using kinda random trajectory than actual clean and smooth motions because it`s very hard for the contrast camera to see anything in the dark. Lasers are working equally well in completely dark or lighted rooms. I`m using Roborock S5 MAX which has a mop function build in and it does pretty good job with mopping. Why? Because it has an electric motor that controls mop`s water flow which`s considered advanced technology instead of Braava M6 which just sprays water in the front... an old gen thing.
If you don't have carpet then Roborock is probably better. Lidar will eventually be phased out with cameras, but AI vacuum tech isn't smart enough yet.
Got an I7+ and it didn't get smarter with time - it became lazier and dumber! It wouldn't clean but half the rooms it had mapped after a week and got tired in those and had to take a nap! Very unimpressed! I ordered an M6 that's coming tomorrow - hope I'm not disappointed in that as well!
I would think the sweeper is great as a terrific job, the mopping can be done a different way, swifter wet jet, the cleaning pads for brava jet get to be to much money.
My experience with Braava jet m6 after 3 months: very good construction, good cleaning results but software running it just sucks: - can't mop in a schedule after i7 (you have to create schedules in each robot separately). It has an option "mop after vaccum" but it works only for manual starting not scheduled - it can't return to the base station if was incidentally lifted durning cleaning (if get stuck). When get lost starts clean whole area not only scheduled - can't return if taked manually to a spot clean more than 3 meters away from base station. - can't set to mop the floor paraller to floor panel layout (as showed in the video), braava choose moping way depend on surface dimensions, and often is against the panel layout. You can't choose the proper way for each room/floor. Smudges are visible when it mops against the layout. - base station dock plate gets slippery after wet mopping and often braava can't leave the base, need glue some stickers to get better friction - can't use the proximity sensors in proper way,, often hard bumps obstacles like a crazy blind - sometime can't find the way to selected room (no obstacles at all), it seems that for each start it calculates differ way, don't know why - is much dumber than i7, often get lost, can't find the room or just mop differ rooms that scheduled - when get stuck and wait for a help battery is drained fast, when you came back home and find lost Braava battery is so low that it can't finish the job - app can't show on the map where is the robot now, it shows only name of the room - creating a "smart map" takes a lot of time if you have a big house (need minium 3 training runs), can't copy map to another robot, if you have i7 first and it already has the map it can't transfer it to a new robot for avoid training runs. - "smart map" are not so smart, somtiemes show non existent doors between rooms, which need manuall edit and separation (which is a bit tricky) - can't edit/correct walls on the map, you can only divide area for separately rooms and name it - can't mop rooms in an order selected in scheduler (e.g. 1. Kitchen 2. Living room etc), the order is random. There are rumors that this bug will be removed in a new update.
Robot vacuum's are all useful, I will definitely be getting one soon but one potential issue for me might be that they will still be too big to get under places I would ideally like them to in my home in order to make them really worth it. I know many of them are small enough to go under some couches and beds if there's a gap of around 7.2 cm but any below that can be a problem and there are plenty of couches and beds that do fall below that hight, like mine, which means it will probably just bump into them and clean along the sides but not be able to go under. Ideally I would need one around 5cm hight to get under my couch and bed, of otherwise I can't see them getting under there unless they can squash down but I'm not sure if the technology has quite got there yet 😀😂

Good review thank You
Thanks pimp, great info as always...
You have a breakfast room!!! Damn, I don't even wake up for breakfast.
Thats why you don't have a breakfast room my brother.
What are your desk speakers? Headphones and stand?
Got an I7+ and it didn't get smarter with time - it became lazier and dumber! It wouldn't clean but half the rooms it had mapped after a week and got tired in those and had to take a nap! Very unimpressed! I ordered an M6 that's coming tomorrow - hope I'm not disappointed in that as well!
I would think the sweeper is great as a terrific job, the mopping can be done a different way, swifter wet jet, the cleaning pads for brava jet get to be to much money.
This is a perfect video thanks
What do you think about the shark IQ R100AE robot vacuum with the base station? It $200 cheaper.
“After spending more than I care to think about..” 🤣
I have a step in my apartment would either of these devices be capable of going up and down of a ramp?
Very useful thanks!
Hi Chris, what’s the performance like in the dark?
Not that great. I have an automation setup to turn the lights on when it's vacuuming
My experience with
Braava jet m6 after 3 months:
very good construction, good cleaning results but software running it just sucks:
- can't mop in a schedule after i7 (you have to create schedules in each robot separately). It has an option "mop after vaccum" but it works only for manual starting not scheduled
- it can't return to the base station if was incidentally lifted durning cleaning (if get stuck). When get lost starts clean whole area not only scheduled
- can't return if taked manually to a spot clean more than 3 meters away from base station.
- can't set to mop the floor paraller to floor panel layout (as showed in the video), braava choose moping way depend on surface dimensions, and often is against the panel layout. You can't choose the proper way for each room/floor. Smudges are visible when it mops against the layout.
- base station dock plate gets slippery after wet mopping and often braava can't leave the base, need glue some stickers to get better friction
- can't use the proximity sensors in proper way,, often hard bumps obstacles like a crazy blind
- sometime can't find the way to selected room (no obstacles at all), it seems that for each start it calculates differ way, don't know why
- is much dumber than i7, often get lost, can't find the room or just mop differ rooms that scheduled
- when get stuck and wait for a help battery is drained fast, when you came back home and find lost Braava battery is so low that it can't finish the job
- app can't show on the map where is the robot now, it shows only name of the room
- creating a "smart map" takes a lot of time if you have a big house (need minium 3 training runs), can't copy map to another robot, if you have i7 first and it already has the map it can't transfer it to a new robot for avoid training runs.
- "smart map" are not so smart, somtiemes show non existent doors between rooms, which need manuall edit and separation (which is a bit tricky)
- can't edit/correct walls on the map, you can only divide area for separately rooms and name it
- can't mop rooms in an order selected in scheduler (e.g. 1. Kitchen 2. Living room etc), the order is random. There are rumors that this bug will be removed in a new update.
Thanks for the video. Exactly what I was looking for. Right length too. 😁
Could you give me your opinion on the optoma HD39HDR for its specifications I see that it is an excellent projector to play and watch movies but I have not found a review on youtube to know if I should buy it, could you talk about it? Thanks a greeting from Mexico I love your videos
Is it worth it? 6:54
