It took me 12 minutes to make this because I don’t have a twin, but it was AMAZING!!! So delicious!! I paired it with Jasmine rice. Sometimes I will adjust a recipe to suit my tastes, but I followed this recipe exactly and it’s really good!!! I already have requests to make this for our family functions! I will make this forever!

Okay people when you make this give yourself more than 5 mins. Let the onions cook properly, let the spices roast properly, let chickpeas and tomato cook out properly. Don't serve with an avocado and you've got yourself a delicious curry. Good work!
My daughter and I just made this together and it was absolutely delicious! It took us about 20 minutes or so as we weren’t in any hurry and enjoyed the cooking process, but it only took us 5 minutes to eat!
My Punjabi husband would have an absolute fit if he knew I used this exact 5-minute recipe to make his dinner that he loved and bragged about for the entire time he ate and even after. Teeheehee.
I met this amazing woman recently, omg.. she's really amazing. Anyways, she was telling me about her punjabi husband always complaining about her cooking, so just for the kicks, we cooked this for her punjabi husband and he absolutely loved it! If he only knew.. lol
Been vegan for a week now and I never used to cook from scratch. Made this for the first time today with the addition of cauliflower and spinach, amazing recipe
This is how creators should use YT. No bs. Just a quick obligatory video description for the 5% of viewers that are always confused by the title, and then bang into the purpose of the video. We don't need to hear a circuitous rambling speech about the inspiration behind this recipe and what it means for all of humanity, like so many other channels do. Here, these guys are straight to work. No fuss. No mess. Just content as described in the title. Beautiful.
I just made this today and it's one of the best vegan meals I've ever had. I'm half Burmese and this actually reminded me a lot of the curry my grandparents make, minus the meat and dairy. Anyway, kudos and many thanks to you guys for the amazing recipe 👌🏻
OMG! Where have you guys been all my life? Finding your channel is the biggest blessing EVER! As a busy Vegan Mom, these yummy, healthy, QUICK dinners are EXACTLY what I need! Thank you for sharing this!
I made this today for my daughter and I. We had it with lemon and thyme jasmine rice and garlic and herb flatbread. Thank you so much for posting this video!
This dish is amazing I make it at our cabin and serve it in a cup with homemade buns as we eat outside. The flavor is so good most of us have another cup full.
I successfully made this recipe x 6 and dehydrated it to take backpacking! It came out so good. I am taking it on my hike of the Pacific Crest Trail in 3 weeks. I purchased powdered coconut milk (coconut milk is fatty and hard to dehydrate) and added while re-hydrating...worked like a charm! Thanks! I will think of you guys each week when it’s curry night!
Just made this and it is amazing. I did add around 10 minutes to the simmering time and also added alittle cauliflower (had a quarter head) shallow fried and paper towel drained. I have been looking for good vegetable alternatives to meat for ages! Accompanied by some quinoa, brown rice and wholemeal flat bread. Delish
agreed! So tasty and nutritious! Glad I came across this. I'm grateful to them for showing me something easy even I can make. Will definitely be making this again in the future :)
I watched this video yesterday...immediately went to the grocery store to buy the ingredients I didn't have...came back and made the chickpea curry. Shortly realized I've been missing out lol This chickpeaa curry is SOOOO GOOOOD, its full of flavor (the ginger is a great touch, quick and smells amaaaaazing!!! Definitely a staple for me. Thank you guys!!
I’ve made this several times and it’s my family’s favorite way to eat Chickpeas now. Some tweaks I made were using fresh tomato pure and boiled chick pea instead of can. Added finely chopped bell peppers and spinach (instead of cilantro) and gave more cooking time. Tasted amazing!

I subbed dry milk and water for the coconut as I was out, and used coconut oil for the frying. All spices from dry, including garlic and onion. All in all, very good, and easy. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much for this! I had nothing for lunch tomorrow to take to work, no energy to make much, but all the ingredients in my kitchen! I cheated further and used onion and garlic powder instead of any chopping. Delicious!!
I cooked this dish tonight n was a total success, it took me around 45 mins cuz I used fresh tomatoes n fried the onion n other ingredients with enough time to develop flavour. Soooo delicious, I didn’t add that much hot spices n my 18 months old loved it! THANK U 😍
DUDES! This was so delicious! I used coconut oil instead, and since I had more time, I also added some slicked shiitakes. Served it over brown rice. An absolute winner!👍🏼
I'm Indian myself and loved this curry! I did put a little spin on it by adding some finely chopped kaffir lime leaves (I ran out of coriander!), and it tasted amazing! it sort of turns this into a Thai-Indian hybrid :)
Krystle Nelson yeah.. you can. But unlike coriander, which is added at the end as garnish, The curry leaves would be the first thing you should add in the hot oil to allow them to splutter and fry up and season the oil.
Made this tonight - it was spectacular! The chili heat, creamy coconut milk and the tang from lime and cilantro were just perfect. So quick to make, too. This one will be on repeat for a long time!
This made a Gorgeous curry! I had all ingredients except the fresh ginger. Also, I used normal (not lite) coconut milk. I also added one small honey-nut squash (cooked-just microwaved in bowl of water), and peas. I cooked mixed vegetable quinoa for the side. This curry is so wholesome, satisfying, and comforting...the second I tried a spoonful from the pan my body involuntarily smile...I felt like a child. If you don't add the squash or peas and make it exactly like they say, you have yourself a wholesome 5 minute, comforting curry. I'm addicted.
only really in the mountains, but it's cold enough everywhere else, it gets down to near freezing many nights, haven't checked melbourne's weather recently, but canberra has also been fairly wet and miserable
Love Lauren's comment! I idiosyncratily (probably not a word) avoid coconut anything but these recipes still come out brilliantly. This is boring and anecdotal but my family lived on the island of Domenica for a year while our Dad was thinking of developing an hotel; very good that he changed his mind and lobbied for it to be designated as hands off eco territory like the Galapagos, always proud of him, still missed. IF you really like coconut, there was a drink that was stellar there; fresh coconut liquid and flesh, split down the middle, ditto sugar cane and lime juice. It was really too good to be true. Also my sister and I did the world a great service by saving the lives of countless giant frogs, called locally mountain chickens, (7 and 9 yrs respectively) by following the guys up the extinct volcano and making holes in the burlap bags. We kept one, named Charlie, who ate all the insects in our house. Will never forget that year.
I saw you guys on the today show this morning and I had to make the soup I loved it. I substituted the leafy vegetable for spinach and it’s a hit thank you guys success to you.
I made this today and it was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!! It took me an hour because I made everything from fresh and also preferred spinach instead of cilantro. THANK YOU GUYS FOR YOUR GREAT RECEIPES!
Coming back here 3 years later and I must say I STILL use this recipe. I now use fire roasted tomatoes, a whole onion, the whole lime , and a little extra ginger for sweetness. It's absolutely delicious this way!!!
Those onions are no where near being cooked once you put the tomatoes in xD The recipe is great though, although its similar to other currys you've done.
Great recipe! I followed the comments and cooked this for way longer. I made it in around 40-50 mins instead and added some of a chicken broth cube. Delicious!
Made this tonight and it came out great! My husband really liked it and he is not even close to vegan. I did let it cook longer than the five minutes. Thanks for the great content!
Made this curry two days ago. I recommend trying it!! Had fresh parsley in my garden so used that instead of coriander / cilantro. Added zest of full lemon which is good. Added juice of one lemon too, instead of half, could pick up citrus taste too much, will stick with half the juice as instructed. Partner and I agree tastes much better eating next day, soooo much flavour! We’re going to use this recipe for a bulk cook up for frozen go-to meals. Our preference is to eat it with brown rice 🍚
This was dinner tonight. Just FANTASTIC!!! I made it nice and slow, as I had time. I left it on the slow cooker option of my IP while I hiked. Husband LOVED it. I will make this again and again.
Guys...you rock in the kitchen. I saw this video a couple of hours ago, went to market, came back and made it...amazing way to enjoy chickpeas. Great recipe and you are both naturals in front of the camera. Thank you for sharing the happiness.

Just made it and ate it after a 5 day mimicking diet. It was delicious, but clearly requires more than 5 minutes. I agree with the other comment about the avocado - just not necessary. Also, 1 clove of garlic? What kind of heathens are you. I would use 4. I doubled the recipe and used 8. The coriander and lime really bring it all together. Served over a bed of rice. Delicious. Thanks for posting!
i just made this & served with cauliflower rice and it tasted heavenly!! i added more a bit more garlic, red curry paste, red bell pepper, didnt have coriander bc i couldnt find it so i used cilantro and some mushrooms too. i made a lot but wish i made even more
I've cooked this numerous times. It's great. I follow the recipe, let the onions and garlic simmer a little longer, then add some crocodile to it to cook through at the end. Delicious.
Just made this and it's delicious. Took about 20 minutes from popping open TH-cam to finish. Very good indeed. Used lemon because I had no lime and parsley because I've never seen fresh coriander anywhere but I'll keep an eye out.
I have made this several times now and it is absolutely yummy 😋!!!! plus these guys are very funny and I cannot believe that fire they have going under that and, wow, I couldn't believe my eyes!!? Ha!!!
I take a long time to do lots of things, including cooking, so I like seeing video recipes like this. If a 20 minute recipe takes me an hour and a half, then it's reassuring I have options when truly pressed for time.
You can tell by their faces that that the five minute version doesn't taste as good as the fully cooked version 😂😂. This is one of my favorite recipes! 💜💜💜
Wow I totally love this healthy and quick I have two little ones this looks perfect for my lifestyle can't wait to test it out 😉 keep up the great work I hope your channel grows you guys deserve it
Okay, this is seriously wonderful. I don't have any other word for it. I didn't even use all the ingredients and those that I did, didn't necessarily measure and it still came out great... Wow!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
The Happy Pear Thank you so much for replying !!!!! Tried the recipe last night (made it with with fresh tomatos insted) and it was sooooooooooooooo good 😋 full of flavor ...Thanx guys
Such a FANTASTIC video, I LOVE chickpeas and looking forward to making this :-) thanks so much for sharing Dave and Steve and sending heaps of love and happiness from Waterford and have a MAGNIFICENT weekend ahead XXXXX
Best receipt I have done from TH-cam videos so far. I added tofu with onion at the beginning for extra protein and used spinach instead of coriander. Great meal thank you lads!
Made this tonight and it was GREAT! Thanks so much for sharing this quick and simple recipe. This served 2 people just fine! The prep work is easier with two people for sure, but still, as a novice recipe follower, I got this done fast and enjoyed the result. A keeper for sure!
Look, of course it taste better if you slow it down but if you are in a rush this works. I tried it and it was delish straight away but overnight the flavors really married and it was so much better. I use their recipe template as a base but if I also add whatever veggies I have on hand like carrots, cauliflower, and celery. If you garnish with extra lime as you are serving this dish is EXTRA! Thanks for sharing guys!!!
For a lot of westerners curry powder = indian flavours. Its a British invention. There is a funny story... I was invited for dinner at aquintices's place and she happily told me that I will be very happy as she cooked an indian food for me. And actually she made some coconut curry with half tea spoon of curry powder 😅.
Good simple recipes like these are fantastic. I usually add some curry leaves with the spices substitute tamarind for the lime and defrosted frozen spinach can replace the coriander.

The Craft lol @ dont serve with an avocado
what the fuck is wrong with an avocado
Lmao.
The Craft I agree! I like the chickpeas a bit softer and I prefer everything a little more cooked apart from the coriander. Lovely 👍🏾
I disagree. The crunchy and sweetness from half cooked onion is just too delectable to pass.
My daughter and I just made this together and it was absolutely delicious! It took us about 20 minutes or so as we weren’t in any hurry and enjoyed the cooking process, but it only took us 5 minutes to eat!

Oli Mercer 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'm stupid, can someone please explain me the joke? 😅
😁😁😁😅😅😅😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
that orange refrigerator is everything. definitely going to give this recipe a try, looks delicious!
I take a long time to do lots of things, including cooking, so I like seeing video recipes like this. If a 20 minute recipe takes me an hour and a half, then it's reassuring I have options when truly pressed for time.
I'm the same!!
You can tell by their faces that that the five minute version doesn't taste as good as the fully cooked version 😂😂. This is one of my favorite recipes! 💜💜💜
True
Not sure anyone commented ... but that avocado was beautiful. The pit was so small.
At the end of the show I realized they're twins

Okay, this is seriously wonderful. I don't have any other word for it. I didn't even use all the ingredients and those that I did, didn't necessarily measure and it still came out great... Wow!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Sorry but I just love when you say "tirty minutes"

Such a FANTASTIC video, I LOVE chickpeas and looking forward to making this :-) thanks so much for sharing Dave and Steve and sending heaps of love and happiness from Waterford and have a MAGNIFICENT weekend ahead XXXXX
Made this for dinner tonight. Despite missing ginger, chili, and bunch of corriander the flavor was really really good!
Best receipt I have done from TH-cam videos so far. I added tofu with onion at the beginning for extra protein and used spinach instead of coriander. Great meal thank you lads!
"Turdy seconds" LOL
😂😂
so this meal is really 10 mins since it's two of you?? LOL
If it takes you 5 minutes to stir alone, probably.
...and the spices were measured out and the tins were open. Let’s just say an easy 1/2 hour 😜
hi awsome lads we Bangladesh love chickpeas thus is our favourite now loving loving so healthy thanks guys my kids love you xxxx
"The Wielder of the Spoon of Truth" had me laughing!!
What is curry powder? I am an Indian and I want to know..
Hey Rohan! It's a mixture of mainly coriander, cumin and turmeric- and additional spices 😄😋🙌
Boutta make this and throw some tofu in it hell yea
Fab idea! 😄👍🙌
maybe Smoked Tofu ?
Purple Sunflower or marinated?
Good simple recipes like these are fantastic. I usually add some curry leaves with the spices substitute tamarind for the lime and defrosted frozen spinach can replace the coriander.
I made this - Easy, quick, and very delicious - I ate it with Couscous Roasted Garlic and Olive oil. Thanks for the recipe!!
I'm making this! Btw are they Irish?😂💚
