@@graphicINmotion I'm honored sir! You have some of the highest quality AE templates on the website. Really happy to see you in the Houdini sphere for some time now
Don't know if this is helpful, but you can actually right click on the word "ramp" and copy / paste from there, which gives you the opportunity to copy and paste entire ramps. I think you can also save them etc.
Thank you. I am aware of that. That should work. But when I tried copying the entire ramp from the other open Houdini program on my second screen it did not work.
@@graphicINmotion Ah, got it! So that was the problem. Yeah, sometimes Houdini acts weird once you do anything outside of it. Same with color picking, I think.
Thank you for the debug tip. Coming from Redshift I was wondering if there was a way to do this coz it helped so much in finetuning and fixing noises and textures.
Thanks you covered a lot of things, near to the release of H20 I wanted to see a possible workflow to integrate karma, you gave me some great ideas.🙌 Ps1. Geometry property read point , primitive and vertex attributes? Ps2. The snapshot recover all the changes in the lighting or includes material, transform, render settings etc? If i save the the file, the snapshot are saved along?
Amazing work, one question is Karma in H20 'Native' like Mantra or is it being pushed as a Tool to work with USD only? Because when people talk they always say USD this, USD That, which is cool, but if we are working with Houdini only, and we need to work like it like it was Arnold or redshift, do we need to jump hoops into USD ( to use karma ) for some reason?
As far as I understand it, Karma always uses USD. Even the Karma render Rop in SOPs converts the scene to USD. www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini/nodes/out/karma.html
@@graphicINmotion I disagree on that assumption. I've moved materialX USDs between DCCs and it's never come up. I think as long as we're in a mtlx subnet it should be good, from my experience. Thank you for breaking down your workflow!
The Solaris setup seems to add a lot of lead-time for lookdev (especially if you are a single artist or small team) As a quick workflow, why not just make the above simple Solaris nodegraph and save it as a default hip file you can merge into the hip you're doing SOPs-level modelling on, then save that merged hip out as your Solaris lookdev on every shot/project? It might save a lot of time... Also, when are Megascans/Kitbash3D/GreyscaleGorilla gonna do USD/MatX asset libraries, come on industry! It just seems that the best workflow in Houdini is to save presets and defaults for everything and on each new project, save yourself from these tedious setup workflows I WISH sidefx thought about speed, and not just efficiency, when they design these arcane workflows
Hello, what is your computer configuration? My computer configuration is 13900K CPU, 4090 graphics card, and then the memory is ddr5 64G memory. But it is very slow during simulation. Is there any setting that needs to be done? Thank you very much.
It does get 'complicated' for a reason. It's made that way to give you flexibility to make your own tools. Once you get your tool made they way you want, and you turn it into an asset - You can use it any time easily.

The Snapshot function - ARE YOU KIDDING ME??! 😍👏 That will become a life saver.
Yes, this can save a lot of time.
this was a very elaborate explanation, appreciate the tutorial
Thanks!
Wow that snapshot function is incredible
Right on time before 2.0 comes out next month! thank you!
this was an amazing tutorial, I never knew you could just drag and drop lights into the scene and everything after that! Thank you Sir!!
You are welcome! 👍
This is awesome! I feel like you hit on most of the things that I was trying to figure out how to transfer over from other rendering software
Thanks Brad!
My brother from videohive 💪awesome tutorial
Thank you very much, Razvan! I am a huge fan of your work since years.

Phenomenal work sir please make more videos about Houdini
Thank you! I will.
Thank you so much. Amazing work. So looking forward to H20.
Thanks Philipp!
this is great, thank you!!
Excellent. Thanks
Thanks, Tom!

@@graphicINmotion Thank you, well let s see how it goes into the future, still feels like a weird choice to me, but is my personal point of view only.
I think the symbols mean it's either a mtlx HDA or native* mtlx node. If you dive inside the ramps you see it's just mtlx nodes
Yes, that would make sense. But I think that’s exactly the reason why these are not fully compatible outside of Houdini.

@@kamazooliy thanks for clearing that. I tried it once, but it did not work. I will try it again.
I'm guessing creating a Rest pos to stick the texture doesn't work if point count changes, eg advecting a VDB for growing a plant etc...?

Yes, you are right. You can also save a Solaris setup as USD with lights, backdrop and everything and import it back when needed.
Hey can you make a tutorial on how they make that scared timeline explosion in loki season 2 episode 4?
Hello sir , I want One tutorial from you How to create Light Leaks in After Effects, Please create this video tutorial
very nice :)
Thanks!

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960
256GB DDR4
RTX 3090 & RTX 2080 TI
Usually you don’t have to change any settings.
Thanks a lot
Thank you very much,I am a beginner, can I think that memory is very important for houdini simulation?@@graphicINmotion
A software for masochists. Especially the MaterialX portion. Such a simple thing as noise gets very complicated for no reason in Houdini.

Tell me you are struggling to learn Houdini without telling me you are struggling to learn Houdini:
Bro the quality is 360p 😢
It’s still converting. It will be 4K when the conversion is finished, but TH-cam is slow.
Great , New to solaris , it is helping a lot. thanks.
