Traded my VF GTS manual about a month before the whole pandemic s*it show started for 58k. One of my biggest life regret seeing how much they're going for now. Don't be me if you have one. Hold on to it.
One of the best upgrades for these is to dump the factory Continental tyres and fit Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres. Got them on my VF GTS and it transforms the car.
The VF commodore is one of the best cars to run off Australia's production line and was the last true commodore! The ZB is a great car with the wrong name in my opinion.

oh 100% the LSA is much more alive.. but still i think they need a small tune just to really awaken i find HSV/Holden limit the potential to much from factory.. way more power to unlock with just a tune
It would've been nice to See them do a One tonner on the last VF model as a tribute to the HQ but sadly they stopped them after VZ. My dream would be a LS1 VY one tonner and a HSV/Clubsport R8 tourer VF Sports wagon. In the garage
i have ls1 vu ss ute everyday driver and a thongslapper hq tonner and i have a smile like rosses everytime i fire them up both where working vehicles could not afford to buy them now

The reason why HSV leave the engine to a various stock tune, is for longevity, less power = more life, as soon as you open it up with a tune per say, you need to make sure the oil and filter is changed at around 5 to 7,000 km instead of the 15k mark IMHO the oil should be changed as soon as you see it go dark brown/black almost color, that way the engine always has the friction additives working at its best also using Mobil 5w/40 or 0w 40 if in winter or different good branded oil like Penrite :)
Awesome. The auto in the VF one didnt have the paddle shifts, I use about 90% of the time, I couldnt have an auto without it. I see the auto was faster than manual. The old age argument Auto is faster but manual is more engaging. Nothing Beats a VF, Still blows my mind and hurts that this is the last Holden model. Great review.
Paddle shifters would be very helpful! But yes still gotta love that manual personally 😅 amazing cars seriously some of the best ever made here 👌🇦🇺 love em so much
yep not muc h of the R8's out there so many GTS, Senators, but not much R8's sold as well, so they are asking a lot more even more than what they cost new, anything HSV pre walkingshaw ownerships is crazy numbers now? Even Stock Holden VY And VZ especially if ordered in various trim options etc. :)
I like the grille and black cars are so neat when clean, the ute is the better looking of the two, manual is the way to go but auto is what it is, I have to say Holden's did the better job of the interiors compared to Fords. Turbo Barra still the one for me, great review as usual Jono Tony
your dead right tony.. interiors are far better than fords.. i wish ford had a EDI app page because using them is very fun and useful on track.. but cant go past that barra turbo feel! one of each is what i want :)
Why the R8 maloo has no paddle shifters? The its almost a manual car shifting its that simple, why he did not upgrade with paddle shifter i will never know in fact he still can and also get a tune, nothing crazy just to make the 6l90E come up a little in shifting etc. :)

Just bought a VF sv6, Had a G8 SSV , both beautiful utes, could not justify forking out an extra 15 grand for 2 extra cylinders. Got enough speeding fines , didnt want to see my ute in a crusher. Remember the speed limit varies from 100 to 110 K's.
@@RossReviewsau I was actually surprised by that, I’ve heard heaps of times that the Maloo’s are amazing but the sound just wasn’t there. Every time it drove passed it just sounded like nothing. Sadly it’s the same with the stock clubby unless your putting your foot down. I like to hear something on idle or driving from a v8
Not a fan of manual transmissions not a fan of GMH products not a fan of 3rd party HSV products. That said for those of you who are then these are fine for you, to me these cars have no soul no character, which is typical of the crap that PREMOSO was producing back then. The fact that it still needs more enhancing even after the official 3rd party enhancement pack clearly shows why these are not worth your time.

I still feel getting into an lsa vs Na will make it feel like a different car. The supercharger gives it way more grunt. And a lumpy cam 🤤

IMO, the sedan has the best looking rims put on any HSV. I believe it was introduced by HSV around the 2009-10 Clubsport model.

i wouldn't be surprised if the redline is faster.. these standard HSVs really come with a dull tune..
