I love the editing, and this channel actually gives you amounts unlike some channels that just say "add a tad of sugar" when you want precise amounts of what to add
I like the new thunbnail Rebecca. They so much better. Again, I just love how you just keep the beginning of the video short and to the point, then bam right to the heart of the video. I scream from the rooftops for others to do this. You ever do a live stream?
I really love this!! It’s so simple 😮 Also, wayyyy of topic 😅 but what kind of mic do you use?? You sound so clear I love it! Anyways, love this video!!
Thank you, my partner bought these for me because I was constantly struggling with my audio. I hope this helps! This little "set" is great! amzn.to/3Pi258O
I used his original recipe. I am thinking about straining it to get rid of some of the pod pulp? Thoughts? It has been in the jar for about 2 months now... Thanks.
I think that’s probably the best idea. I did put mine back in the vitamix and give it a good long blend again, but it’s still chewy. I used it in cookies yesterday though and it was amazing.
Alex Green is a chef. He created a recipe for vanilla extract that became the brand Adams Best Vanilla, It is still a top-secret recipe but the extract and other vanilla products are still for sale. I hope this helps
I find it easier to weigh so that I know I’m getting the right amount. Plus if you are already using a scale, it’s super easy to just weigh everything!
Adding alcohol to your vanilla beans will be an extract, not a paste. Using alcohol, you leave the beans whole, then add your alcohol. Leave it in a jar for around 18 months to 2 years, and you get vanilla extract. Vanilla bean paste is opened lengthways, and then cut into 1" pieces. Water is added, along with sugar and corn syrup, then cooked on the stove for around 45 minutes on a relatively low heat. Remove it from the stove, let it cool, then blitz it for a couple of minutes. You then pass this through a sieve, then place it into a sterilised jar, and store it in the fridge, which will last you years. The vanilla bean that is left in the sieve can be dried in the oven and ground down to be used in cooking. Maybe people on TH-cam should know what they are doing before placing videos that are totally wrong. I suggest researching recipes before post videos in future.

Oh thank you!
Thank you for this! The beans I purchased are in 2 oz package so very easy to follow recipe. 💕
You are so welcome!
@@Rebecca.Robbins made yesterday! Looks and smells great! Thanks again! ❤️
Just curious. Why not use the agave like you did in your first video? I'm getting ready to make my first batch so I have so many questions haha.
It was an optional ingredient, so I just thought that I would try it without this time. No reason other than that.

Do you wait for it to completely cool in the jar before you put the lid on?
You probably should to prevent condensation.
Hi! Did the vanilla beans already have to be soaked in alcohol? And can i add honey instead of corn syrup?
The vanilla beans do not need to be pre soaked. Honey will crystallize over time, where corn syrup will not, so it’s not recommended.
How much did this half batch make in volume? Of the various recipes for paste that you've tried, which do you think was the best? Thanks!
It made a pint. This recipe was my favorite!
Can you use beans that you already made vanilla with?
Can you use spiced rum instead of vodka?
For sure!
I have a regular blender, not a high speed one. Will this work?
I *think* so. I only have the Vitamix myself.
I've seen the Alex Green recipe on several vanilla groupb posts and I'm just curious, who is Alex Green? Lol. Thank you!
He is a respected member of the Indri Vanilla group. I believe that he is also a baker or chef. His recipes are well loved.

Did it thicken as it cooled?
It did!!!
And, did you go back and add some xanthan gum? If so, how much do you add?
I didn’t add any on end. I’m really happy with it just the way it is!
1/4 tsp.
Update please.
Its spectacular! The best one I’ve made!
I was just going to ask since you have made so many! @@Rebecca.Robbins
what vodka do you use? @@Rebecca.Robbins
For this recipe what grade of vanilla beans do you use?
I use whatever grade Indri Vanilla is selling. You can’t go wrong!
So all ingredients are weighed out? Even the liquid?
I find it easier to weigh so that I know I’m getting the right amount. Plus if you are already using a scale, it’s super easy to just weigh everything!
Is this shelf stable?
It sure is!
if i add xanthan gum how much approx?
I would start with about 1/4 tsp. That’s more than likely enough.
Naa, is sugar paste, I avoid sugar, thanks.
You might be more interested in the vanilla powder then!

This comment is full of nonsense. Not sure what your intentions were. The video is a valid video with valid information and instruction.
@@rhondabarlow860 That information is from a profession ice cream maker. But, hey, you are obviously far more experienced than he his.
