Awesome recipe. I made a triple batch and used 4oz of new beans and 2oz of spent beans. It turned out perfect! Thank you so much for the recipe and the great video!!!!
Thank you for this. I'll need to find a healthy, clean alternative for the corn syrup. I will use Allulose in place of the sugar. I'll share how it goes. Happy new year 🎉
Put half the sugar in, add all your beans, then scrub your vanilla-y fingers with the sugar. Then you get the extra vanilla off your hands and into the sugar.
Wow. I am definatly going to do this. I like vanilla bean paste better than the extract. Ive made my home made vanilla extract but would prefer the paste instead.🙂👍
Simple syrup, agave syrup or glucose can generally be used instead of corn syrup, or any other kind of invert sugar (it's used to avoid crystallization of sugar). The consistency may differ.
Can someone tell me why my vanilla extract never gets dark in color, even after letting it sit for 2 yrs, made with just vanilla beans and vodka 👩🏼🦳🙋🏼
Maybe you’re not using enough vanilla beans. The typical extract recipe calls for one ounce of vanilla beans to eight ounces of vodka. Mine has been sitting for two years and it’s a very dark brown.
Good grief! It's not like you're buying it to drink it! Unless you live in a small town where you're afraid people will gossip, just go in. It's not like it's 1940 or something.
There are fabulius flavors to cook with in a liquor store! Time to eliminate your hindered learning! You know, the alcohol cooks out! Get out of the bubble and experiment!
SHE DONT TELL YOU BUT MEASURE YOUR BEANS!!! NOT ALL BEANS ARE THE SAME SIZE AND WEIGHT OUT DIFFERENTLY.. SHE SHOULD HAVE TOLD YOU THAT. SHE SURE MEASURED EVERYTHING ELSE...

I was wondering if you could use spent beans. I have them from making my extract and I hated to just throw them away. Thank you.
How do you store the vanilla paste and how long will it last ?
How long is this shelf stable for?
This is my first video, and I got subscribed to it because this video saved my life as a home baker.

Yummy 😋
Where is the best place to get vanilla beans. Last time I got them from Amazon.
I’m gonna do this! I’m down the rabbit hole. What I don’t understand is how it took so long.
So excited to try this! Thanks for sharing. Can I assume that it is shelf stable? And is there an expiration date on this?
one year
I have soaked vanilla beans…can these be used?
What would you recommend as an alternative if there’s a corn allergy, and Corn syrup is not an option?
Simple syrup, agave syrup or glucose can generally be used instead of corn syrup, or any other kind of invert sugar (it's used to avoid crystallization of sugar). The consistency may differ.
Can I use Raw sugar instead of regular sugar and Bourbon instead of Vodka?
I use regular sugar. I didn’t use any corn syrup.
Where do you get your vanilla beans?

what does that mean you dont want to go into the liquor store? I don't get it.

@@tonja2602 ok thanks I'll try that 🙋🏼
Make sure the alcohol is at least 80 proof or higher otherwise it won't extract the oils from the beans.
All of mine turn out very dark. You are not using correct ratios plus cut bean lengthwise and then into thirds
Can’t you just shake it up with the extract?

Exactly OR go to a different town.
use glycerin or agave instead of alcohol
