- "District Nine is going to be two minutes long!" Close... three... it's rough making a video that's only mentioned about three times in book ;-;

I think after District 12, District 9 has the least amount of victors of any district.
that's rough
i always assumed 8 bc they literally dont know nature at least 9 can use a sickle
@@rachelcarlson3503 The agriculture is probably mostly industrialized. Most of them probably work in combines and the processing of the grain, which is industrial like District 8.
I mean I think they should be stronger, 12 has no advantages, they don’t work until they’re 18 whereas 9 will be using sickles and scythes all their lives, plus should be physically stronger.
Another I think should have included, is that district 9 like makes biofuel from grain, as there is little oil being pumped in Panem.
This is the least mentioned district and a lot of people in the fandom even forget that this district exist.... 😂😂
The extra they used even said he wasn’t on set for the training scene or the bloodbath he thought maybe they were gonna animate the scene but instead they used the district 7 actor for the clove knife sequence
The finale note about District 9 may also be an allusion to a story from the American Revolution where Mrs. Schuyler (yes, Angelica, Eliza Hamilton, and Peggy's mother) burned her family's fields of wheat rather than let them fall into enemy hands. This tactic has been allegedly used in war for centuries, but the fact that it's specifically fields of wheat makes me feel that this was a reference to that story in particular.
i doubt the two scenarios are related seeing as it relates to an already existing military strategy (the scorched earth policy), but good find!!
One of the most interesting questions about D9 is how they mangaed be above D12 for worst Distrct in the games. As you mentioned their children probablly have marginally better skills than the 12s but a difference could also be in the mentors. Katniss does say in the books that at times D12 had a not so bad tribute but they were let down by Haymich's bad mentorship. Maby the menotrs from D9 are just mome competent
D9 tributes would need to be super charming and entertaining to win. Sponsors would be their biggest allies. Honestly the only way a D9 tribute would win is if a very rich sponsor heavily bettted and provided for them to survive as an under-dog.
I live in the district 9 area, 2 to 3 hour drives to from place to place here are normal, imagine how much jabbberjays gotta fly to eavesdrop 💀
that's why there were so many, to cover more ground. I've always thought that D9 would be small villages located next to large grain processing complexes surrounded by wheat fields
I don't think I ever realized there was ever a district so lacking in detail
There’s a theory that Suzanne may have avoided District 9 because of the movie with the same name.. which is unfortunate if true.
Loved the part in Ballad with Snow passing through D9, brief as it was.
Panlo and Sheaf of course had to die in the bombing before the games. 😭
I think district 9 & 10 probably have the least information about them and then it’s district 5
Not sure if it was D11 or D9 but in the Mokingjay films there is a brief scene where on a TV screen we see a man made crop circle in the shape of the Mokingjay symbol in a field of grain. If this was in fact D9 then that was an extremely brave on their part.
probably district 9. 11 is more so vegetable and fruit crops
It's definitely 9 , honestly I imagine that district 11 and 9 and 10 were the most likely to start revolting there is nothing more frustrating than working hard to produce huge amounts of food only to send it to the oppressors so that they eat as much as possible while you starve, it's also highly likely that these districts were the ones punished the most severely when the capitol defeated the first rebellion.
Omg I just watched the District 8 video this morning! Awesome that this was released so soon after.
District 9 is tragically underdeveloped, but you still were able to bring up several interesting points.
2:48 the need for the most jabberjays in this district might as simple as the tagline of TBOSAS - it seems that hunger is not only a weapon of the Capitol, it is the PRIMARY weapon.
I have never clicked on a notification so fast 😂 i love this series! Thank you for the deep dives :)
Thank you so much for another amazing video! I wished we had more information in the books about district 9. It's such an interesting district in my opinion
I feel so spoiled. 2 episode released so close together
To be fair, District 9 doesn’t need very much prep time to get a video done for it
How is this district population so small only a little over 15K, while taking out 70k tesera . Who many of the 15 k are between the ages of 13 & 18
that means almost every child in the district is forced to take tesera
I feel like of all the flaws in the Hunger Games lore, the population of Panem is the biggest one. The population is way too small to support a country like that.
@@Captain-Sum.Ting-Wong my point exactly
I stand corrected. It's not two minutes; it's almost four!
you have no idea how my face LIT UP when I saw this video ❤❤🎉 . keep up the good work ❤
It’s interesting that the District 9 citizens take about 4.6 tesserae each- and that’s accounting for every single citizen. If only reaping-age children were accounted for, that tesserae-per-person ratio would be even higher. And this, in the exact place where all of Panem’s tesserae is likely grown and manufactured. I can easily imagine District 9 growing both the grains for direct consumption, and for processing into oil for tesserae packages. Their finest products would be shipped to the Capital, but most of their industry would exist for the “benefit” of district citizens (aka, providing the materials for the Capital’s conditional food subsidies).
Wake up honey, new district deep dive.
south dakota mentioned RAHHHH
haven’t watched but when i made a hunger games thing in middle school i imagined they were basically like bootleggers and had massive parties and drank tonnes of ale like medieval peasants because it’s filling and doesn’t actually contain much alcohol so they won’t get drunk during the work day and don’t need much to make
I LOVE IT ANYWAY YOU QUEEN ALWAYS GIVING
Your voice is so relaxing, please consider doing longer videos talking about the hunger games
I always enjoy these videos so much! I dont know if its appropriate to suggest but ill risk it: I would love a video recapping each distric's role in each rebellion--it is so hard to keep track. Anyway, im on to the next video; district 10 here i come
I love these videos
Look forward to these
i think u might be right about the children working in different industries in 9. bc both 10 and 11 (the other farming districts) always have at least one tribute make it past the first day of the games and have enough strength to fight in the games, but the tributes from 9 are never described to have physical strength or any ability like that so it makes me wonder if the children work in the silos and/or granaries
also they always die on the first day and they die pretty quickly
I really hope we get some more information about the previous district winners. Likes minis comic series or a least the names of them
If we get another book, I'd want one in District 9 for the sake of knowledge. What about y'all.
I would love a Silmarillion/World of Ice and Fire type lore book about Panem
A book where the main character is from an obscure district would be cool
@Glamuel it would be a trial. I'd say that out of the districts, only 2 and 13 have the most stability of history or records. But who knows?
@@willsword8100That’s true. It would probably mostly be the Capitol keeping records about the districts, and depending on the literacy of each district. 🤔
@@Glamuel a book detailing the 1st quarter quell would be interesting.
The amount of dopamine your intros give me is crazy 😅
damn that was fast!!
damn you're banging these out now!! gg. short as hell lol. In Bryce Edward Brown's "districts explained" video, he pads his run time of district nine by shitting on how stupid and redunant they are cause other districts have granaries too lol. i was wondering if you might be able to dig up more but i guess not. no worries though. love the vids.
omg wow!! you uncovered way way more details than he did. keeping the serious tone and using the source material and reasonable guesses based on that, i love what you put together here. so good.
@@rin-eriI’m very confused by these comments. Did you not watch the video before leaving the first one?
that was quick
yeah, breads cool
Wait so doesn't this mean they produce all the tesserae that all the districts get when kids add their name to the reaping. Dang that's a lot of work. How are they not the worst district?
Clearfell x Justin enjoyers rise up
how do you know how much population each district has
Real hunger games fans incorporate Clearfell from tales of the hunger games as a member of district 9
Brot!
Another skibid W form the goat herself! On Ohio I love this ❤❤❤
😐
So funny…
