I've always wondered why District 7 dosen't perform well in the games despite the obvious advantages and this explained it. Always had an appreciation for District 7 because of the bad ass moments we get with their citizens and tributes. District 7 has and probably will always be my favorite District. Thanks Lucky !
I bet they perform well in the games, but just don't yield many victors. They probably get to the final eight a lot along with districts with similar industry skills like 10 or 11.
@@stephenmccarthy2517Makes sense. Living in 7, 10, or 11 would offer industry skills that one could use to aid in their survival like axe wielding or farming food along with generally being used to living in poor conditions. Though when it comes to survival skills and proper training with a variety of weapons those districts don't have the opportunities Districts 1 2 and 4 get.
I could imagine that district 7 tributes consistently are the first targets of the careers, as they probably know that they are some of the most skilled and/or get good ratings, while also not having any natural allies and while having all around disadvantages compared to the careers.
It's also less likely that those kids actually know how to do their district job. The system is rigged - the poor weaker kids are more likely to go for the food coupons. Stronger ones just gonna bring money and food from their own underage work. Outside Career systems - it's all fair game.
7 and 10 are so interesting in the way their tributes could have the skills to succeed. I always felt like 7, 10 and 11 were the middle pack between the careers and the other districts but only their quality of life and poverty prevented them from succeeding (appropriate allegory for life) and I feel like Suzanne proved this with ballad by having the tributes from 7 and 10 more competitive and even 11 being considered a 'top contender' with 1, 2 and 4.
Right! District 7 is one of my favorite districts along with 4 and 11, and I really think that if 7 had better living conditions, they would get a lot of victors as most of them probably have at least some knowledge with axes, and I assume they can climb really well too.
A dark headcanon, but I've had the headcanon for a while now that District 7 might have so few victors because District 7 has a higher rate of suicide. I don't have any book evidence to back it up, but the areas it encompasses (Montana, Idaho, British Columbia, Alberta, you can even make the argument for the very bottom part of Alaska) are all high up on or at the top of rates of suicide in Canada and America.
It’s an interesting notion - that either environmentally or purposefully the Capitol keeps them in destitution because they have potential to rebel hardest
I thinking district 7 also have significantly more wilderness experience, like hiking and foraging, then other districts. Tree logging is not something that can be squeezed into a small area. So poaching, especially by using traps, might also be prevalent. Possibly also sometimes exposed to bears, wolves and other large wild animals.
It is also possible that due to the known skills set of district 7 in wielding ax and climbing, they are often view as a threat and a target to eliminate in the arena.
The movie adaptation of the ballad of songbirds and snakes kinda proves that. I mean, the pack wanted to have Treech in the movie, so I don’t doubt the careers will either try to make the stronger 7 tributes join them or eliminate them quickly
I like the idea that district 7 suffers from hearing loss. This could also be due to a small genetic pool. Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts had a very large population of Deaf people due to a small gene pool.
YES I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR D7 it's tributes always got my interest especially in tbosas (lamina might be my favourite i relate to her as someone who cries alot when stressed she was a kind and brave sweetheart) , also you bringing up how it's possible d7 struggle with hearing losses , i have been thinking about the disabled tributes who get reaped since tbosas confirmed there are no expectations to the games even for disabled or sick kids i can imagine that they don't get sponsors because they are unlikely to win and the capitol would probably be disgusted by them if they were sick or disfigured so it's possible d7 tributes don't usually win because of possible factors like these add on the fact that working since childhood wouldn't leave you in the best physical condition and the capitol only like to sponsor the tribute who they find 'attractive' ( they are children you monsters 🤬) i also like to think that 7 always had a ribulose streak in them further reasons for the capitol to not bet on them or give them supplies in the arena so it could them not being able to win a crowd that gets them killed the games as they don't receive supplies
I assume that District 7 (and 10) tributes are usually considered high-priority targets unless they appear to be more unassuming and nonthreatening (Johanna, Lamina, and book Treech) or are invited into a powerful alliance (movie Treech). Also, both of the District 7 female tributes we know anything about (Johanna and Lamina) are shown to have a rebellious streak (Lamina would definitely have been punished for mercy killing and cutting down Marcus under Snow’s regime).
Great joke and the beginning of the video 😂 And once again a great overall video. Really appreciate you giving us Hunger Games fans something to look forward too!
Well, BC and Alberta are FECKING HUGE, so you would think that, with some of the states added to our provinces (I'm Canadian), they'd have quite a lot of land. But not if some of that belongs to 2 and the Capitol (Rocky Mountains are in BC), and not if natural disasters have destroyed more of their land, too.
Hi, Lucky. Will you make a video about the Capitol too? I wonder why were the Capitol citizens so privileged. Were they all important politicians, military people, businesses people, engineers, scientists and other key members necessary for a dictatorship and, if not, if they were regular people with avarage levels of skill and intelect, why would the dictatorship choose to offer them so many advantages? I also have another question: Taking into account that all the peacekeepers, weapons and industries are from the districts, how did the Capitol became the ruler of Panem? How did it gain power if it doesn't own anything really?..
I too have wondered about this a lot.. TBOSAS mentions “founding families” of the Capitol. I always figured that it would be the American/global elites like you said, high ranking politicians, banking executives, etc. and maybe they adopted the Roman names as a new beginning of sorts.. but since the Capitol is a medium-large size city, they couldn’t have all been elites maybe? There is class divides in the Capitol with the avoxes and such.
I think 7 probably has viable physical candidates but in the reality tv show drama of the hunger games there’s nothing particularly stand out especially compared to the careers who are of similar if not better physical fitness and have easier marketability
I alaways felt bad for the District 7 Female(Maple) she knows how to weild and axe and had Amazing odds but before she got to her axe in the Middle of the Cornucopia Marvel Chased Her and Speared her in the heart :(
We know each child can take out more than one tesserae (Gale and Katniss have one for each member of their family) but I don’t get why they’d be taking out more than the number of people in the district unless they didn’t think the portions were big enough?
@@toroallin5734 He said in the movie his name was in 42 times if I remember correctly? It’s tesserae we’re talking about though, not total entries. Some of those extra entries are because you get an extra entry each year and Gale was 18 so he had the max amount of normal entries plus the tesserae for his whole family. The tesserae still shouldn’t exceed the total number of people in the district unless they’re getting more than one tesserae each. I think you can apply for as much tesserae as you like so it’s possible to be higher but only if most kids apply for more than one tesserae per person.

Probably bc they are not as well feed as the career districts

Same !!
I believe that factors such as poor health care, starvation and bad life quality can be a reason.

Yeah they are If they don't get them in the bloodbath they split up when it's the finale and kill of the other tributes meaning 7 is one of them

Many creators share your headcanon. I've seen it in Christian Blanco's "Tales of the Hunger games" and in a fan film.
Like district 12, i think most of the districts are pretty small in comparison.
An the ease of access to trees and axes...well, you get the point.
Damn that’s dark

true, and this would make everyone else want to hunt them

FINALLY IVE BEEN WAITING FOR HER TO DO DISTRICT 7 FOR WHAT FEELS LIKE YEARS!
Seriously 😭 I can’t wait til the series is done and I don’t have to wait and worry “did I miss one??”

Movie Johanna gives Alberta girl. You cant convince me that shes not from Red Deer
Queen
I've always thought that lol. Or like, northern BC.
I always look forward to the next district lol
samee
We know the trees. Also the rain. We get a lot of rain.
District 7 has always fascinated me, great video!
These are all so well made ❤ I can’t wait for the next one
I waited so religiously for this, I was so worried that you wouldn't continue these videos 😭
I really needed this, thank you
Great joke and the beginning of the video 😂
And once again a great overall video. Really appreciate you giving us Hunger Games fans something to look forward too!
i love watching your videos cant wait to see the rest of the districts !

The Capitol is basically like a version of a Capital City but more extreme. London, Paris exc.
I lovvveee this series SO much ❤
Iv been impatiently wait for D7
Love these videos!! They are so ineresting. Cant wait for district 8 for me its one of the most interesting districts❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Lovely video!
D7 has like my all my fav tributes!!!!
You explain things better than my professors.. if you were my prof, I would have graduated by now
Yesss my district 😍🌲🪓
It's perhaps unrealistic that every district only has one main resource and contribution.
I think 7 probably has viable physical candidates but in the reality tv show drama of the hunger games there’s nothing particularly stand out especially compared to the careers who are of similar if not better physical fitness and have easier marketability
Omg finally!
I wish this was longer
it’s been ages onggg
Was watching your tiktoks when this showed up in my notifications lol
This is very random but do you think when you’re done with all the districts you’ll put it all into one video? Also thank you for these videos!!
your honor im yassing….. YAAAAASSSSSSSSSS
I alaways felt bad for the District 7 Female(Maple) she knows how to weild and axe and had Amazing odds but before she got to her axe in the Middle of the Cornucopia Marvel Chased Her and Speared her in the heart :(
🎉
buenísima serie te amo chica de las trencitas
Oh my god im here so early. Its my lucky night 🎉
This is my cocaine
Thank you
Well I've certainly never been this early.
Like whats your record
I know I’m probably missing something but how is the tesserae count higher than the total population? How does that work lol?
We know each child can take out more than one tesserae (Gale and Katniss have one for each member of their family) but I don’t get why they’d be taking out more than the number of people in the district unless they didn’t think the portions were big enough?
@@silverwind9999 Wait maybe it’s multiple kids taking out tesserae for the same family members? That’d probably do it
Gale had his name in 36 times… if each person put their name in 3 or 4 times that makes more than the population…
