  • So...I added a Honda 2HP outboard motor to the Bass Pro Shops Pond Prowler 8 boat. Now this thing is an unstoppable Crappie Fishing Machine! Join me for an overview of the new motor, some of the modifications I've don't to the boat, and an on-water test. Thanks so much for stopping by! #crappiefishing #crappie #fishing #honda #pond prowler

    New Sub, Nice set up. Really like the phone holder set up. I have two trolling motors on my Quest Angler 10 but been thinking of getting an outboard but don't know to much about them but like that not having to mix up the oil and gas. Pretty cool.

    Didn’t know they had a 8ft Pond Prowler. Being a bank fisherman I don’t have fish radar. I have to probe fish locations and depth. I caught 10 crappie this morning probing. Being able to see fish locations and depths would be awesome. I love everything about your build except the seat. I need a real fishing boat seat.

    • @pistolcreek

    • @pistolcreek
      @pistolcreek  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s really easy. You just lay the dolly on it’s side, set the boat on it…then after you get your ratchet strap attached, pick the boat up with one hand while you pull the slack from the strap with the other hand. It forces the dolly to stand upright. Hope that makes sense?

    • @pistolcreek
      @pistolcreek  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is the transducer mount I have… tinyurl.com/493m6j5f . It’s the Transducer/Sup mount. $34.99 at Bass Pro Shops. I used a 4” mounting rail from YakAttak. It’s a tiny bit wider than the boat railing, but works fine. Just run your screws in at a slight angle toward the inside. Honestly, two screws will suffice as long as you aren’t trolling for large trophy fish.

    What length of motor shaft did you go with on that Honda

    • @pistolcreek
      @pistolcreek  ปีที่แล้ว

      I went with the short shaft, which is 15” because I like to fish some really shallow spots. The long shaft would also work, because it’s only 5” inches longer at 20”. I will say that the short shaft on this particular boat just barely submerges enough. If you have a different boat with a higher transom, you may consider the long shaft version. I’d just measure prior to buying one.

      No, sir. It doesn’t have reverse, but you could rotate the motor all the way around if a person wanted to. It has a clutch similar to a go-cart, if you are familiar with those? The prop doesn’t engage until you rev the throttle up above idle.
