  • The electric power steering motor coupler/bushing is one of the common wear & tear parts for Kia. I was being quoted $250 just to replace that small steering motor coupler/bushing and it only cost less than a dollar. I was thinking why spend so much and I can do it myself so I decided to replace it on my own. This replacement work really tiring me out but I would say it's an accomplishment for me as It's quite a tedious work, so much time and effort have been made 😁
    📢 You guys might want to consider to bring your car to workshop if you don't want to do it yourself, it's really no joke to replace this steering motor coupler/bushing.

    This video helped. the hardest part for me was unplugging the stubborn wires out of the way. Stupid things didn't want to be unpluggedd

      Good to hear that 👍🏻 The connector tab is too tiny. So it's not easy to push it and pull out the connectors.

    I'm trying to do this procedure on a 2014 Koup Turbo and there is a rear 14mm bolt which is very hard to get to.
    Would you have any advise please?

      You mean there's no response when you step onto the accelerate pedal? Is there any revving sound from the engine?

    Unfortunately, the EPs turned off after following the instructions and seems it will be cost alot to fix it..
    I recommend to give it to dealer to save time and effort

      Maybe some of the wirings have shorted. It's quite a hassle replacing the steering motor coupler, it's best to bring it the car workshop. 😊

      @@NeedForRide looking into kia 2009 also, if u willing to share, may i know what is the monthly cost with all the insurance, maintenance, parking , petrol etc for used COE car.

    • @NeedForRide
      @NeedForRide  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@kentheman88 There're a few factors which will affect your Insurance premium. What's your age and driving experience? Maintenance is relatively cheap, 4L of engine, oil filter and 4 x spark plug probably cost you around $150 for every 6 months. If you're using iridium spark plugs (last longer), you don't have to replace your spark plugs on every servicing. Our car is easy to maintain and quite durable also (Depends on the condition of the car when you buy it) If you're looking at 2009 model, currently the road tax is around $1000/year because every year the road tax will increase by 10% (Cap at 50%). Parking fee in Singapore is quite expensive, $80 (Surface carpark) $110 (Multistory carpark) per month. Fuel consumption also depends on your driving style and the route you take, on average I'm getting 10 - 11km/l which can last me for 500km on 1 full tank.. Our car is slightly heavier than those Toyota Vios and Hyundai Avante, those will have better fuel comsumption, probably around 12km/l. Feel free to DM me on my IG @ _needforride_ 😊
