- My thoughts after the first time I used the SurfPrep sander and Festool CT MIDI dust extractor combination. This combo is really amazing. #festool #surfprep #painting #painter #sanding #diy #DIY #dustfree #cabinetpainting #cabinets #tools #tool #festoolusa #impressed
That’s a great tool
Are you able to send me the link to buy the adapter to hook up to my Festool vacuum? Thank you
Awesome video. What sander were you previously using?
thanks for the video. Where did you buy the adaptor to Festool? Thanks again!
From SurfPrep
What attachment did you use to attach the surfprep sander to the festool vacuum hose?
Either SurfPrep or Festool sells the attachment
SPUHCMF: 1″ Hose Connector, under $11, at SurfPrep. Only for use with the smaller, 27mm Festool / Fein, and other similarly sized hoses. Threaded end goes into the sander. Vac hose slips over the flanged end of the adapter. I tried to fit the hose over the flanges and thought it was sized wrong. Double checked SP's video, and it appears to be either Carrie or Hannah (marketing/sales) muscles it on far easier than I had made it seem. Clearly, she eats her Wheaties! th-cam.com/video/vfFxw0-ORBw/w-d-xo.html
What grit do you have on that it's taking that finish right off
I was using a 220 grit pad
Are you using a Bluetooth adapter to turn on the Festool?
Also what model is that? I have the Surfprep Electric Sander already
Festool CTMIDI and no adapter. It turns off and on when I use the sander
Bluetooth adapters are only needed for cordless tools. Otherwise, you plug the tool into the dust extractor. It turns on and off when the tool draws power.
Can you remove exterior house paint with that tool?
With the right pad possibly but I see it as more of a finishing tool.
How would it work on the painted door moldings behind you?
It mold perfectly. I use it on cabinet frames and doors as well.
