Renner 1094 Sprayed with Apollo and Sanded with SurfPrep Sander

Quick video I did on my cell phone a while ago using Renner Woodcoatings 1094 self seal 1k waterborne. This was Sprayed with the Apollo Precision 5 and 7700 series gun using a 1.3 needle and nozzle with BHS aircap. Everything was sanded with SurfPrep Sanding abrasives and tool.

Great videos! How many coats did you apply in total? Also can Renner paint be applied by airless? And finally when will SurfPrep be available in UK or at least to ship it here, I wanna buy those attachable sponges.

3 coats total, Renner can definitely be applied with Airless. Not sure on The UK shipping to be honest.

I am surprised you’re using 1094 on cabinet doors instead of 851 which I thought was your go to for doors. I love 1094 for the ease of a 1k product that looks and feels great but is it durable enough for kitchen cabs in your opinion?

It's definitely durable enough for residential cabinets! 851 is a great product but not always necessary.

Do you prefer the top cup or bottom cup? Any specific reasons? If I would get the Pro 5 LE with the 2 qt pressure system, do you recommend the top cup for the gun? Thank you

The Apollo is convertible between the two. You will want 3M PPS 2.0 anyway.

So you mentioned in another comment this was 3 coats of 1094 per side.. I would imagine you used the Crosslinker? If so, does it help to put the Crosslinker in every coating or just you final coat? I was starting to experiment with 851 for kitchen cabinet refinish but if the 1094 is appropriate that would be great. As a one man operation I can’t always move fast enough to get through what I want to before I need to flush my system out with he 4 hour pot life on the 2k products.

No crosslinker on this one. It can help but at 1% I don't see a huge difference to be honest..
