    Greatly appreciate a guy telling his story. Your videos have encouraged me and help me get over the nagging feeling I am somehow cheating. My gain was gradual but COVID days put more on me as did a bad lifestyle. Blood pressure climbed during that time and the wake up was both a stroke and heart attack- both minor , but they came within 3 months of each other. Blood pressure appears to be a main cause .
    I am almost at the 8 week mark on Zepbound and am down 15. Prior to this I’ve tried so many things and I just couldn’t get the weight off. This is truly a miracle drug and assuming I get my nutritional and exercise act together after the weight loss comes off, should be life altering for me . Again, thank you for the support and information along your journey .

      This is my favorite comment. This is the reason why I decided to get out of my comfort zone, start this channel, and share my journey.
      I’m so happy you started your journey and I look forward to hearing how you are doing on it! 👏🏽🙏🏽

    I look forward to your videos every week. Not a lot of men speak on their journey and I’m thankful for your channel. I just took my 4th Zepbound 2.5 shot. Next Friday I start Zepbound 5 and I am excited. Started at 347 pounds 3 weeks ago and as of yesterday, I am at 327 pounds.

    RMZ, you’re doing a great job. You’ve made some sacrifices and glad this medication has given you the motivation to get back to your athletic roots. You’re killing the results and putting in that WORK.
    I see that Big Man 10 is bullying the appetite, but hope he lets up a little bit so you can get SOME good food in. Your body will figure it out and you will keep overcoming as you’ve done so far.
    Your upbringing is not lost on me. I grew up similarly and the “there are starving kids in Africa” and eat all the food was a reality. I learned that clean plates were mandated not matter how full you feel. Glad that ZB has helped quiet the noise and allowed you to stop and say enough.
    How did the briskets come out? Were you able to enjoy a little of it? What kinds of meals are you having now (before Big 10), how are you keeping your calories in?

    • @RoundMoundofZepbound
      @RoundMoundofZepbound  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Man, 10 kicked my butt for sure last week. It seemed to have lasted longer in terms of days when it came to suppression as well. My body will adjust.
      Briskets came out nice. I got a pitmaster slice of each, but didn't get to enjoy it like I normally would. No leftovers.
      As far as meals. I was doing Factor meals for lunches but their discount went away and it became too costly to justify. Now I either grab something from Salad N Go, a Chipotle lifestyle bowl, or a Jersey Mike's sandwich bowl.
      For dinner, it is usually the Kirkland version of the Just Bare nuggets or the Realgood chicken strips with some quinoa or brown rice and a veggie. Can't eat it all but focus on the protein and get what I can of the other stuff.
      Breakfast is hit or miss. Sometime it is eggs in a carb balance wrap or boiled eggs with a protein shake. Fill in with jerky and other protein snacks.

    Wow! What a story! Truly incredible in so many ways from the great filming and the smooth delivery of your personal journey. I hope 1,000's of people see this because what you articulated of your childhood, athletics, injuries, surgeries, weight-loss tries, covid weight gain and last but not ever the least -- food noise!!!
    Food noise is insidious. My husband has never had food noise so it is a foreign concept to him. He can leave food on his plate and never give it a 2nd thought & quit eating because he is full and not stuffed. I think in my 30's I wanted the control of having something good happen when I was tired, sad or whatever and I could control good tasting food giving me that. I think this is where I went wrong and overeating became my issue.
    Thank you so much for taking the time to film this and share with us. Appreciate you!

      Thank you for the kind words. It has been quite the journey for sure. I finally feel as if I am on the other side of it.
      Yeah, that food noise is nothing nice. Those that don't have it just can't relate to how it permeates your thoughts throughout the day.
      I hope you are finding success on your personal journey!

    Thank you for sharing your incredible story. "Chemical imbalance" is an accurate descriptor for the food noise. Those who don't have it don't really understand. Quieting that food noise is the tool nany of us has been missing. Again, I commend you for your success and your commitment to regaining your health.

    Great story Charles!! I was referred to you today by another channel and appreciate hearing the journey from a guy’s perspective. I just completed week 7 on Mounjaro and will increase from 5 to 7.5mg after completing week - I’m down only 11 lbs and am currently at 249. I realize everyone responds differently but still am frustrated with no progress which included literally a one lbs loss over last two weeks. Any tips you can offer?? I’m eating less getting in 75 to 90 grams of protein with help of shakes when needed, three days per week strength training, and staying well hydrated.

    • @RoundMoundofZepbound
      @RoundMoundofZepbound  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Question: You said you are on Mounjaro. Are you a T2D?

    • @reginaldsaunders7117
      @reginaldsaunders7117 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, diagnosed in Jan with A1C 6.5 and was put on Metformin the Mounjaro in April. I’m 59, 6’0 tall, and now weight 249 with a goal of reaching a fit 215 to 220 while maintaining my muscle.

    • @RoundMoundofZepbound
      @RoundMoundofZepbound  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      First, I’d point out that you’re down 11 pounds in 7 weeks. That is still a 1.5 (almost 1.6) per week average. That’s great. You are in that 0.5 to 2 pounds per week successful range.
      Second, diabetics tend to lose slower. It may have to do with the level of metabolic dysfunction. This may mean that you may see greater loss at the higher doses, once the medication can fully regulate that metabolic dysfunction. So don’t get frustrated. Keep pushing!
      Also, make sure your calorie deficit is around 500 calories per day. You want to be in a deficit but also still give your body the fuel it needs to operate. Ensure that your protein intake is 90 to 100 at a minimum.

    • @RoundMoundofZepbound
      @RoundMoundofZepbound  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      One more thing I’d add is to focus on a low card diet as well. Not Keto necessarily, but just low carb and if you eat carbs make sure they are complex ones.

    • @reginaldsaunders7117
      @reginaldsaunders7117 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I’m on it. Sweet potato, steel cut oats quinoa wild rice, kale& frozen fruit smoothies with whey protein, canned tuna, salmon, and my constant go to .. eggs! Thx for the great advice and encouragement. A lot of folk just don’t even understand.. I’ve recently been accused of having a stronghold of being too obsessed with eating more healthy while monitoring my progress.

    Wow! You have overcome a lot on your journey. You are successful with this meditation but you are also putting in a lot of work as well… Are you on a low carb diet? What does a typical day of eating look like for you? If you don’t mine sharing..

    • @RoundMoundofZepbound
      @RoundMoundofZepbound  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you! It has been an interesting journey to say the least.
      Yes, I am on a low carb diet. Not to the extent that I am doing keto but still very low carb focused.
      Start my day off with an LMNT electrolyte pack.
      Breakfast for me is generally a Fairlife 30g protein shake, 2 boiled eggs or scrambled eggs in a carb balance tortilla. I will have a morning snack of eating something with high protein content such as jerky, edamame beans, graham crackers with peanut butter, or nuts.
      Before lunch I will do a Kiala greens drink.
      For lunch I was doing a keto lunch from Factor for a few months but after the special ran out, it was no longer cost effective. So now I will do a keto bowl from Chipotle, a salad from Salad & Go, or sub in a bowl from Jersey Mike's.
      Dinner is generally chicken thighs or Just Bare chicken with veggies and complex cabs (quinoa + brown rice).

    I was just about to ask how do you get your protein goal in then you answered my question. How do you find what should be your protein goal?

    • @RoundMoundofZepbound
      @RoundMoundofZepbound  หลายเดือนก่อน

      They say you multiply your weight (in pounds) by 0.36 to get your daily protein requirements.
      When I started that would have been 113g. Now it would be about 87g.
      When I was on my bariatric journey they gave everyone a minimum of 90-100.
      I now do the 140-150 because I’m working out a lot and destroying muscle that needs to be built back. It also helps me stay fuller longer between meals.
