Separating the photos from the other parts of the process was huge for us. We can easily list 30-50 things per day with this method. Keep up the videos man!
OMGosh, your Photo Room tip just saved me hours of time!!! I have the app but have been doing 1 item in a batch and then editing each item/batch as I go 😮 appreciate this so much!!!
Hey Josh! So happy you're back to working for yourself. I use to edit all my photos, and then only my cover photos, and then I just stopped. For me it came down to time. I even stopped using my backdrop! I only edit photos for Amazon when listing a new item to their catalog because it's required. A nice wood desk and clean wall is all I need!
I definitely end up changing how I do photos every so often lol. I'll go through a phase of just using my desk, and bounce back and forth between editing photos. You can definitely make sales with the set-up you have!
Yeeeeeeaaaaa! Josh happy again to say it's great to see you back in action!... thanks for sharing this video I just put this same method as a part of my business as well💫💫 can't wait for the next one and their is never no right or wrong way to doing this! It's what makes things smoother for your business.
Hmmm I tend to pack and sometimes even clean in my photo spot. Some things to consider. Still not sold on the white background setup, square photos though and as high res and well lit you can get them is a must for sure
You're right. Trying to accomplish too many things at once is stressful. Ideally, I like to record new purchases, weigh items, prep, photo and list. Works for me.
Great video Josh. We do this also. My workers will sort items and photo for a whole day then they have photos ready for a couple days of listing. Awesome video
Thanks for sharing. I’ve also started taking mine in advance. Since I store in totes, I start by grabbing an empty tote fill it, then I know the custom sku info too. Or grab a partial, figure out what will fit and stack in a pile that way for photos. I usually pull up the pics on my iPad if I have any questions on something instead of relooking an the in progress listing. It works for scanning bar codes too.
I do this as well! I cant take photos in the morning, i hate the bright lights and the physical labor involved. I have to wake up and list at the computer with the photos already taken, so much easier.
I definitely wait until I have about 10-15 things to photograph before I decide to take photos. In a big purchase i'll definitely list the higher priced items first.
have the same workflow but in reverse - when I bring stuff home and look up comps for pricing I start a draft first (this is my hang-up time wise so learned to tackle 1st :-) then do a patch of photos. I started with iPhoto and stayed with it so I shoot then upload before some simple editing that I have down with the quickness. review the draft when uploading the pics and LIST!
Once again another great video. Thanks for the photo room tip. I'm on the 3 day trial to see how I like it and it's wonderful. I might have to get the year subscription
Quick question, say i bought an item from B&M (for example a patio heater or something) but i dont want to take it out the box to take pictures, how do i go about that? where do i get the pics of that exact thing from? cuz i dont want the customer to think its been used cuz the box was opened.
Loved this video - I use the free version of photo room but didn’t know about the upgrades with the paid version - thanks for sharing!! Do you list 25 things a day?
I'm able to "guesstimate" pretty accurately now after listing items on eBay the past few years! But when I started, I would weigh the item as I was listing it.
Here's an old tutorial video I did, but I've changed a lot since this one... so I definitely have to do an updated video 😅 th-cam.com/video/8uAjcYaBmgU/w-d-xo.html I'll try to do an update in the near future on this topic!
Super Tips! I am so so slow at listing on eBay :| I will start doing the photos at night and listings during the day to see how that goes :) Appreciate the help! Cheers, Julien
Do you remove the photos from the phone after you upload them to your computer? I use a Nikon D5200 for my pictures and just pull the images off the card. I like the app though. It makes it easy and quick to edit.
I bought it a long time ago to play around with the manual camera settings. I just point and shoot now though, so no different than the default camera app. I just use the app now since I bought it from back in the day... lol 😅
There's still a way to do batch photos on the updated PhotoRoom luckily! It took me a bit to get used to it, but it's just as fast now 😊 I'll have to include the new way I do it in a future video
Do you always take the photo before creating a listing? I've been buying in bulk so there are times when things are not worth anything so I usually research price and draft a bunch of listings and then take all the photos afterwards because I don't wanna take photos of things I won't list.
When I buy in bulk, I usually take some time to sort through it and create piles for items I plan to list individually, items I play to sell in lots, and items I plan to donate. Once I sort through the bulk buy, I just pull from the piles I created to start taking photos. I found that's what works best for me!
So I have a Pixel 6, which doesn't have square mode. It has 4.3 (full mode) or 16:9 (wide crop). Do I need to buy another phone to take pictures with??
I just feel like I get the most out of the time I spend if I just focus on the cover photos. For me, clicking through 25 photos to edit is a lot more manageable, than trying to edit about 200 photos for the same 25 items 😅
I found it took too long for me to try and edit all the photos. 25 cover photos is a lot more manageable than trying to edit about 200 photos for the same 25 items 😅
@@Josh-Kim I understand totally but seems everyone says how pics are important and Google and ebay prefer clean. White backgrounds but this is why it takes me so long to list is I edit all my pics. I just wonder how effective this really is or maybe I will just focus on the cover pic only as well.

"Foam roll... Uuuuhhhhhhhg" = highlight of my day... Love my rollers!
Foam rollers are seriously the best! 😁
Thanks for sharing Josh, It is easier to focus on little groups if you have an overwhelmingly big Death Pile.
Definitely! Thanks so much for watching 😊
Thanks Josh 😊 Every time I watch or re-watch one of your videos I get encouraged to improve my business in some way! I appreciate the content!

Great video! Now I want to go to a coffee shop and list lol
Thank you! Haha you should try it one day. It's definitely nice to have a change in scenery every once in a while 😊
Love my rumble roller. It has bumps all over it. No longer need a monthly adjustment from the chiropractor.
I have a black rumble roller too! I use it once in a while because that one is so painful 😅 Painfully good, of course haha
@@Josh-Kim I have the blue one. Bought it new - gave it to my nephew bc it gave me bruises on my back and took his used one!😆

Wow! Love learning about your process and ways you’ve become more efficient. Your cover photos look so professional! Incredible.

Smart to list those higher priced items first to get a good chunk of your money back!
you just sold me on purchasing the full version of photoroom with the selecting multiple pictures at the same time.
Holy crap! You're back!?!? When dis happen!? This is awesome
Yup! Only for about a month now 😊 Good to see you in the comments section again!
I liked the way you edited in photoroom. I"m going to have to try it that way (with the added more natural depth perception)
I feel like adding the shadows definitely makes a difference 😊 Thanks so much for watching!
Great tips Josh!

How do you protect photos from other people from copying?

Thanks so watching! PhotoRoom definitely blew my mind the first time it took the background away lol 😅
I'm learning. How do you set the phone camera to square mode?
Hi & thanks Josh this was very helpful keep up the awesome work can't wait for.the next video 🙏😇
Thanks so much Trina! Appreciate you watching 😊
You could glue that flaw on the Vans with E6000 and you would never be able to find it.
I’ll have to look into that. Appreciate the recommendation!
Good info, Josh
Thank you!
Great information as always.
Appreciate it Tim. Thanks for watching!
Nice video thanks . Quick question the “more” tab for batch editing , is that the 39.00 a month option?
Bulk listing, bulk photos, bulk pricing…works for me too.
definitely something I recommend to people!
A minute ago I was like wait a second it’s 847 that caught me off guard

If you don't mind could you tell me where do you buy the tripod lights it would be well appreciate it
Some type of leather conditioner on the baseball gloves will bring you more money and your pictures look better.
definitely. I should invest in something like that and add it to my "cleaning kit"
Loved this video - I use the free version of photo room but didn’t know about the upgrades with the paid version - thanks for sharing!! Do you list 25 things a day?
Thanks for watching Jeanette! I usually end up listing on average 15 items a day. 20-25 happens sometimes when I'm really feeling it that day lol
I try editing a photo using the tip you give in the video, i could not find the outside in photoroom.
So when do you do weights and measurements?
I'm able to "guesstimate" pretty accurately now after listing items on eBay the past few years! But when I started, I would weigh the item as I was listing it.
Is there a free app that we can use instead of photoroom?
Do you have a tutorial on how you actually photograph your clothing your camera setup

Do you remove the photos from the phone after you upload them to your computer? I use a Nikon D5200 for my pictures and just pull the images off the card. I like the app though. It makes it easy and quick to edit.
I'll usually go through my photo album about once a week and delete photos that were already transferred to my laptop.
My 5 minute breaks turn into afternoon breaks and then the process begins again the next day or the day after that. 😬😬😬😬
Hahah cutting a break short is definitely the hardest part 😂😅
Why do you use the pro cam app? Any particular reason or function you like?
I bought it a long time ago to play around with the manual camera settings. I just point and shoot now though, so no different than the default camera app. I just use the app now since I bought it from back in the day... lol 😅

So I have a Pixel 6, which doesn't have square mode. It has 4.3 (full mode) or 16:9 (wide crop). Do I need to buy another phone to take pictures with??
1:1 (square mode) is ideal, but 4:3 aspect ratio is a close second. I wouldn't worry too much about getting a new phone!
@@Josh-Kim It's definitely inconvenient, but I'm making it work for now! So tiring sitting here cropping each photo! Thanks so much!
Why don't you like to edit every photo? I usually edit them on ebay because the photos seem dark
I just feel like I get the most out of the time I spend if I just focus on the cover photos. For me, clicking through 25 photos to edit is a lot more manageable, than trying to edit about 200 photos for the same 25 items 😅
