    If you were curious how I get that bright white background for my main photo, I'll link another video that might help. I talk about the app PhotoRoom at the end of this one!

    Great video Josh! I use a rolled up piece of scotch tape to hold down tags. I love finding jeans but they do take a lot of photos and measurements. I usually sell sports memorabilia because there are less pictures and measurements involved in the listing phase. I have also gotten away from buying dress shirts and dress pants. I just have not had good luck selling those. I do still sell polo shirts, sweatshirts & jackets. I do also have a folding board! Works great! Also, I do use a sweater shaver to shave off any excess balls of lint. It can make a used piece of clothing look like new again! Great video though! 👍👍

    Tip on the Jeans: I started measuring the waist AND hips in the same photo. I have three measuring tapes. Women often were asking me about the hip width and some women were asking for men's jeans because they liked to buy...men's jeans. So now for all pants I include the waist and hip measurement in the same photo. I also include the inseam, outseam (overall length), and leg width in the same photo. Most buyers don't realize that the inseam is relative to the rise. An inseam of 32 is meaningless without knowing if it's a high rise or low rise pair of jeans.
    I love the gray background. I think I'm going to give up my white background addiction!
    NOTE: The Rise is just the outseam - inseam. That's why I only take the three. When someone asks about the rise, I can just look at the one photo to determine the rise easily.

      Putting hips and waist in the same photo is smart I'm gonna try that with the tapered Levi's. I usually use a photo for the hips with tapered jeans why not just use a second tape. I don't always show out seam unless it's odd. I like doing it for bibs.

    No wonder I have a hard time getting good photo’s of black shirts! Tip I got from Pete’s Treasures, you can get at dollar store a roll of double sided white spongy little squares, I put under the tag and stick it to the shirt; the trick is remembering to take it back out before I bag it! And I reuse several times.

    After going though the analytics and breaking everything down I found that having a white background does not improve your Google algorithm. Instead I recommend using a more softer neutral brown color for your background. It’s softer on the eyes when staring at it on a computer as opposed to the white glaring background. Just a personal thought that has been tested for years now. Since switching from the white to the brown I’ve seen a significant increase in listing views and sales.

    Nice vid. Been doing clothing for a few years now. My sop’s are similar but I like the way you do the cover photo. It has a smart look. I may steal that. The iPhone does make getting the color right a challenge. Probably the biggest challenge I face. Other than that clothing is easy. How many items can you list a hour. I spend about 10-12 minutes on each piece from start to finish. I always think I should be quicker but there don’t seem to be many shortcuts I can think of.

    • @Josh-Kim
      @Josh-Kim  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It definitely took me a looong time to figure out how to get the colors right. I usually photo a batch of items, then sit down to list. On average I photograph 13-15 items an hour, and it takes me another hour to sit down and get them listed. That's if I'm dialed in and focused of course... haha

      Do you not know what it is you have? If you have photos of a yellow shirt, then obviously it’s a yellow shirt that you’re listing. If there’s photos of a jacket after that, then you’re listing a jacket.

    • @Josh-Kim

      I make sure to take my pictures so I can list purely off my photos. If you're having trouble with it, think about which parts of the item you feel like you need to reference while listing. Try to remember that and take photos of the parts you reference to list. Hopefully after doing it a few times, you know which photos are needed for you to list with just the pictures. I find that it's much faster to batch my photos first, then list that batch of items afterwards.
