Thank you for taking the time to share this video. What type of phone are you using? I have a big problem with the color of the garment changing after I take the picture. I use an iPhone, but whatever reason I always have a problem with color consistency with my photos.
For the shorts and pants I always take pictures of Inseam, the front rise and leg opening, using the ruler. For the shirts, jackets, and sweaters I also add a picture of the shoulders measurements , seam to seam. I have been selling on EBay for 15 years, I got maybe two or three returns a year.
Sounds great. In my experience I get 2 requests for those measurements every 600 items or so. I'd rather not put in the time if it's unnecessary. Thx for watching! 👍🏻👍🏻

@@resellutionsYeah, I sell primarily women’s clothing, and it is extremely important to us that those measurements are indicated before we buy. Men’s clothing? Not so much. 😊
Great video but I would say for the armpit to armpit and inseam you should be measuring on the front of the clothing vs the back. Just came across your video for the first time. Love the information you provided. I'm just getting started for reselling, and I am super happy that you made this video. Thank you so much.Looking forward to more.
So good I am changing my photo arrangement but I got a drafting table am putting plywood on and have to find my covering. This way I can change the angle if needed. Such great ideas!
@junebrezgis1652 just found my covering at IKEA another reseller bought STOPP FILT, 5.5" by 7.9", $13.99, his table did not need hangers because the felt fabric at angle prevented slippage. For nylon, he had a nail at the top with a piece of clear fishing line to hook the hanger on. I like Damians board folding and tucking behind the door, so I will be considering options. Loved the 1st picture with the sleeves on front and back position. Brilliant idea, thank you.
This is my first time to watch your video. You show some great tips on photographing clothes. However, I don’t know if you sell women’s shorts or not, but if so, I believe the shorts inseam IS something important for a woman to know where shorts are concerned.
Women keep telling me that, but the sales say otherwise. I have received only 2 requests from all the bottoms I’ve sold in women’s clothing. Who knows. Maybe they just didn’t reach out and moved on. I’m not infalible. I’m sticking to my quick way and will take pics after the fact if requested only. I appreciate the feedback. Thx for watching! 🤠🇺🇸✌🏼
Take a picture of the BACK of the jeans first measure on the front of the jeans and do the tags last it is faster. You dont have to rebutton and re clip the hanger. Hope this helps
I recently switched to this setup as well, loving it! I pull the left leg up, making the right straight enough for the yardstick for inseam measurement. I also include the rise & cuff width for pants, takes very little extra time to hopefully reduce returns. I would disagree about the inseam for shorts though, especially for activewear. This is many times important enough to include in the keywords of your title, as it's kind of a model almost for some. I also do a total length measurement for shorts. One more note, I take the length measurement on the front of the shirt to illustrate that the front length is shorter that the back length (as it usually is). Not to say any of that is better or even necessary, but I just like to compare notes on process!
Great feedback. I enjoy different views. That’s how processes get better. One person can’t possibly know it all. I’ll take that into account for the future. The main reason I don’t include any of those additional measurements is because they have not been necessary for me. I have not had returns, complaints or questions. If there have been I can count them on one hand. Conversely, if that changes and I get lots of issues I will deal with it then and add only what is necessary. The minimum amount of photos came about because I saw some sellers packing up their product “to have it ready” for shipping even before they sold it. I cracked up about that because they were essentially paying interest before the interest was due. Keep providing that feedback please. It really helps the community. Maybe someone will make an amalgamation of our styles and use that. Thx for watching! 👍🏻👍🏻
Very nice. Two things-I live in shorts and trunks for ten months out of the year. Inseam IS UBER important to me. And second, I have the luxury of not needing to hurry. I enjoy taking a good picture, so I take my time and try to make them a little different.
That’s what my costume designer said 😂, but I simply showed her the data and my data showed that none of my customers care. When they start asking consistently then I’ll add it on. Thank you for your feedback. Much appreciated. Also, I wish I could live in shorts, but I have chicken 🐔 legs 🦵🏼 and psoriasis…so that doesn’t work for me 🫢😂 Thx for watching! 👍🏻👍🏻
@writartstudio she is definitely talented and she is an actual costume designer. Can make anything from scratch. It’s insane to watch. Thx for watching! 🤠🇺🇸👍🏼
Hey there Young Man. Thanks for the informational video. I'm new to selling on eBay 3 weeks now, and starting to list clothes. These steps are actually what I've been looking for and you helped me out a lot. Once again, thank you sir, and you gained a new subscriber today....me😁
You’re most welcome. I try to help when I can. My goal with this channel is to provide solutions to reselling problems without having you sit thru long videos filled with nonsense. Thx for watching! 👍🏻👍🏻
Great video! I’m a seasoned seller, and picked up some good tips. However, you should be using a WHITE background, Google favors a WHITE background. I live in Florida, and I photograph outside on my Lanai, I have clear suction cups on my glass doors, and I have a pretty white textured shower curtain that goes on the hooks in like seconds. Above that I have a heavy duty suction cup, that holds the hanger, or the 1/2 mannequin form. Happy Selling 🌞
I side with the OP on the background color. As much as google image Search "likes" a white background, it is problematic for photographers - especially when doing flat lays for eBay listings. Try shooting a black shirt against a white background and you'll see what I mean. The gray background is neutral. It's much easier to get better color representation of the garment. Also, the fuzzy material he uses ensures that it's a matte finish, so there is no glare or reflections.
Great video! I like the portability of your background. I've seen other similar, but they were on plywood and not easily moved and stored. I do have to disagree with the shorts measurements. You said no one cares about the length of the inseam. That may be true if you are a man, but most women I know, myself included, want to know how long that inseam is. That is, of course, just my opinion.
I love this set up. It’s was cheap to build too. I linked the video below if you want to build your own. As far as the inseam goes…That’s what my costume designer said 😂, but I simply showed her the data and my data showed that none of my customers care. When they start asking consistently then I’ll add it on. Doing anything at a high level, not that I’m there, but if you want to be you must include time into your equation. Let’s say you take an extra 20 seconds to set the measuring tape, take the pic, transfer to computer, etc. Doesn’t seem like much, but multiply that by hundreds or thousands of clothing items and now you’re talking minutes or even hrs spent doing something unnecessary. If someone wants the measurement they will ask and then you comply. Then you may be asking, wouldn’t that take longer cuz you need to retrieve it, measure it, etc? Well yes, but in my experience I get that question 2x out of 600 garments. That means that I saved myself time from 598 garments and only had to do it twice. I’ll take the time savings any day because I don’t like to pay for interest before the interest is due. Like credit cards. Just my thoughts. 💭 Thank you for your feedback. Much appreciated and Thx for watching! 👍🏻👍🏻 Best Photo Setup for eBay Poshmark Clothing 2024 on a Budget th-cam.com/video/rezt5jTRu2I/w-d-xo.html

Great video I like how you’re quick you’re pushing through trying to be as fast as you can. It’s nice tips. I definitely need to get my stuff bagged and stacked and tagged organized, but I definitely learned that people want materials. I didn’t realize people want to see what the exact materials things are made out of
Materials are a big deal. Especially to those who are either lazy or don't have the means to clean certain items. Also, different materials feel different on your skin. Example, cotton vs polyester. Cotton is always better. Thx for watching! 🤠🇺🇸✌🏼

Excellent content! I shoot a lot of clothes for ebay, and I usually end up taking clothes outside for color verification. Our yard has a nice weathered fence that makes a good backdrop. I like your use of the yardstick in the photos, as I'm tired of listing measurements in my descriptions. I have a dress form that I use once in a while, but I had one customer who'd never seen one before and gave me my first negative in a DECADE!
Nice video. So, the INSEAM measurement will tell you what you want to know, with SHORTS as well as pants. And the manufacturers use this also. As you said, there are short shorts and long shorts. The INSEAM measurement will be the difference. I like your set up, especially for shirts. I am using a hook on the wall and the clothing has a tendency to move around and is frustrating. Also, I don't really like seeing fingers in the shots. Even though my particular fingers are clean, some people's aren't at all and it's a distraction to see such a large finger in a photo, in my opinion. After shooting the front and back and measurments, I take my clothing and place it on my white photo background fabric and shoot the interior tags and any other details that seem appropriate for that item at the same time. I just found your channel tonight and I like your approach. I will check out more of them!

I suggest packing the clothing in the bag, placing the label on the bag, and then taking a picture of the tag number. This way, you don't have to take a chance that the label won't stick to the bag. Otherwise, it's a great video.
"Crotch" aka Naughty Place... hahha.. Good video - the part about showing the fly / zipper and also folding one arm to show the buttons of the shirt was simple and a great short cut. Peace!

Subscribed in first 5 min of video, even before put like, you are fantastic! Very informative, straight to the point! Good balance between velocity and quality
Great video, I learned alot (long time seller who doesn't love selling clothing). Sorry if you already mentioned it but do you steam or iron your clothing?
First off lighting has a lot to do with it. Using 5000K bulbs helps. Also, some colors are always gonna be off. You can always fix it in post or on the phone by messing with the colors, but I don’t make enough in profit to do that. So I just shoot as close as possible and deal with the issues if they come up after the sale. Not the best advice, but I’ve been fine over the years. The only adjustment I do that fixes almost all issues is brightness. I’m using an iPhone 14 Pro. Phone camera def make a difference. Thx for watching! 👍🏻👍🏻
My husband was constantly busting out the crouch in his jeans driving me crazy and when he started wearing 505 button fly n they have a bigger crouch he never busted them anymore. All jeans are made different
You’re most welcome. I’m glad. I’m here to solve problems and one huge problem is always expenditure of time doing unnecessary shit. 😂. Thx for watching! 🤠🇺🇸👍🏼
Wow this is my first time watching your channel. Easily one of the most informative videos. I have tons of clothes to list but I hate the process so I do a lot of hard goods and avoid it. lol! Thank you so much for this tutorial its one of the best I have seen and you do have it down to a science! This might get me to start listing clothes! Haha!!! 👚👖
😂😂😂. The funny thing here is that I just moved into clothing in a serious way a few months ago. I’ve sold it over the years, but not at this level. I’ve always been a hard good seller cuz I can give 2 shits about clothing, but the market pushed me that way and business is business. I’m taking my store now to 30% AFA (apparel, footwear, accessories) and keeping the other 70% hard goods so as to not go insane and be true to myself and my passions. If I can recommend something, start listing clothing now. It is a must have and the US market is going to keep tanking. Stay ahead of the game and put in more hrs now so you don’t get left out in the cold later. With this shit government we have who knows where we will all be in a few months. Hopefully we see a big positive change in November when the POS puppet leaves the White House. Just protecting a fellow seller. Wishing you the best in 2024 and beyond. Thx for watching! 👍🏻👍🏻 🇺🇸

Lay flat works great to keep garments steady, but hold the wrinkles and you have to keep messing with it. I prefer the hanging method and let gravity do the trick. It also gets "natural" lines so people can see how it could possibly look. I recommend hanging with a slight angle. Thx for watching! 🤠🇺🇸✌🏼

@@resellutions thanks ! My lighting is good I think it’s more like when I take the full jeans it’s one type on blue and when I get near it changes …. But I think iPhones are having this issues there is no white balance … 🤷🏻♀️ but thanks !! 😊
@juliedubois5650 iPhones do that for sure. To fix this also try to tap right next to the item background and adjust the lighting. That works for me all the time because of the gray fabric.
In this video you didn't mention why the gray carpet is used. I believe it's used for photography (color-matching) reasons, right? Is it a "neutral" gray? That's a great idea! I will have to try to find a neutral gray carpet and make the same setup. Thank you!
Great question. It helps with the iPhone camera for sure but mainly it’s because white is super dirty. Also the gray hides shadows. Thx for watching! 👍🏻👍🏻
In a perfect world with all the time to invest in photography for sure. youre awesome, what type of string do you use to hang the hanger? I use fishing wire right now and it constantly gets all tangled up as i take photos and flip the clothes
Thank you. I try to be awesome on the daily 😂. Simple cheap ass white strong from Walmart, Lowe’s, Home Depot or everywhere. Used to tie trees, hold things down, etc. Most people use fishing line because they think that the white string is gonna show but if you’re showing the white string, then you have a problem because you shouldn’t be taking pictures that high anyways. Sometimes the color will be off a little and that’s the nature of using a phone, but you could use a filter or focus on the background and adjust brightness from there. That helps sometimes. Thx for watching! 🤠🇺🇸✌🏼
I do not. It rarely comes up from customers and when it does I’ll go back and provide it. I’d rather not waste the time doing it up front. Thx for watching! 🤠🇺🇸✌🏼
Depends on what medium you use, but usually Bluetooth or airdrop is best because you send everything directly without the need for storage cards like SD. You could also list directly from the phone onto the app, but I find the upload process is clunky and slow. I personally use Air Drop as everything I have in my business is Apple.
Since item specifics ask for rise, I add that too
You are a good teacher. Thank you for this tutorial.
You’re most welcome. I do what I can to help. Thx for watching! 🤠🇺🇸✌🏼
Also, I wish I could live in shorts, but I have chicken 🐔 legs 🦵🏼 and psoriasis…so that doesn’t work for me 🫢😂
Thx for watching! 👍🏻👍🏻

Noted. Thx for watching! 🤠🇺🇸✌🏼
@ I subbed 🌞
I side with the OP on the background color. As much as google image Search "likes" a white background, it is problematic for photographers - especially when doing flat lays for eBay listings. Try shooting a black shirt against a white background and you'll see what I mean.
The gray background is neutral. It's much easier to get better color representation of the garment. Also, the fuzzy material he uses ensures that it's a matte finish, so there is no glare or reflections.
Correct. ✅. Plus most of my sales here are native to eBay users. Don’t need to rank on Google. Thx for watching! 🤠🇺🇸✌🏼
Thank you for your feedback. Much appreciated and Thx for watching! 👍🏻👍🏻

Weathered wood does look good. Also, customers can be aholes…whatever. You can make everyone happy. Thx for your support! 🤠🇺🇸👍🏼
I'm so happy your video popped up....THANKS🎉
😝Thx for watching! 🤠🇺🇸✌🏼

Carrying a side arm cuts down on trolls making negative comments. Next video in line, we have Danny Trejo, machete in hand, with advice on sourcing items for sale lol..Good video SIR!
Never thought about that way, but that makes sense 😂. Funny you mention Danny Trejo. Just saw a great documentary of him. He had a tough life and is a badass…a real badass. I suggest packing the clothing in the bag, placing the label on the bag, and then taking a picture of the tag number. This way, you don't have to take a chance that the label won't stick to the bag. Otherwise, it's a great video.

Thank you for this video. If the colors don’t match up, what do you do to adjust the phone? I’m struggling with blues and greens 2:48
@@resellutions thank you! I have the 13 pro max and I use natural lighting. The room is wood though so I think it messes with the colors.

Thank you so much. Very helpful. May I ask, is that just grey felt on the back board and is it propped up on something so it’s slanted? Aldo how can reduce shadows? I get in them in the room l use when it’s both natural light or with the globe. Thank you in advance
You still get some with this setup due to missing lights on the side, but a little shadow is ok. That’s what the grey background is for. Helps hide them a bit. Thx for watching! 🤠🇺🇸✌🏼

What do ya think of the lay flat method? That's what I have now and I seem to be fiddling with the garment more then if it were on a hanger.
Lay flat works great to keep garments steady, but hold the wrinkles and you have to keep messing with it. I prefer the hanging method and let gravity do the trick. It also gets "natural" lines so people can see how it could possibly look. I recommend hanging with a slight angle. Thx for watching! 🤠🇺🇸✌🏼

Informative video. Should the sleeve length measurement be included on the shirt?
In a perfect world with all the time to invest in photography for sure. Since you need speed…Definitely No. I can tell you from experience that over 600 garments sold and only 2 requests for that measurement. Mind you, I mostly wear and buy long sleeve shirts because that’s my jam. Other people will disagree, but results don’t lie. Thx for watching! 👍🏻👍🏻

Simple cheap ass white strong from Walmart, Lowe’s, Home Depot or everywhere. What's the most efficient way to move your cell phone photos to your listing? Seeking tech advice!
Depends on what medium you use, but usually Bluetooth or airdrop is best because you send everything directly without the need for storage cards like SD.
