- This is a review of the Rolex Air-King reference 126900, kindly on loan from my friend John. All opinions are my own as is, sadly, my poor attempts at humour.

This new version is definitely better than the previous one. I am a proud owner of this version..
Got one back in June, love it, especially the changes from the previous model.
This new version fixed all the things I hated with the old one. The crown guard is a added plus for possibly a daily wear watch. Love the smaller case. Love the new 3-6-9. Love the 05. I’m going to my AD to inquire about it soon.
That is all I don’t like about the new one.
The new movement is the only improvement.
I really don't understand everyone whining about the dial. This layout has been used for many decades in classic "flieger" style watches....and yes, with the single "5" like the 116900, not an "05" like the 126900. The traditional flieger dials were even way more busy, containing the hours aswell. So no, a microbrand would not be criticised for this dial. The watch got flack BECAUSE it's a Rolex and dares to be different. Same thing happened to the Milgauss.

Saw it this week at my AD and felt instantly in love with it. I would have never thought as i first saw it on pictures some month ago. It is such a cool watch and a really different model compared to the rest of the Rolex linup.

Every Aussie should get one, got the Aussie colors green and gold (the wattle tree).
I will never buy one on the Grey Market Place but I would buy one from Rolex at retail price.
I agree , I like the new AK design.
Also I hope they put in this new movement and smaller case on the Milgauss.
Great review! Just picked up this watch a couple of days ago and it is absolutely beautiful though not in a traditional sense. To me, this is the Hyde version of the Exp (being Jekyll).

Perfect. The only thing that bothers me to no end is the length of the minute hand. Just wish it was 0.5mm longer.
Nice video! First time I’ve seen one of yours. I’ve read elsewhere the thickness is 11.6 mm (not 11.8), not that 0.2 mm makes much difference. I just picked one up the other day and it’s fantastic! I like the oddball design and the new case shape fits like a dream.

It’s an underated watch. The dial is unique, busy but works. Also nice to see it doesn’t have the same dial you see on the Sub, YM, Explorer 2 and GMT. Great vid. Thanks!!

This was an awesome review, plus couldn’t agree more with your assessment of this cool watch. As someone who loves to fly and travels a lot, this was the watch for me the minute I saw it. I love its unpretentious beauty as I enjoy wearing it daily. Got it just 2 months ago from my AD after a short 5 month wait and I couldn’t be happier!! 😎👍🏻🤩

I tried on this updated model .. I don’t like it .. much prefer the smooth, rounder case of the previous model. 116900 for the WIN .. bite me!

I had the choice between the new one and the previous one side by side at the AD.
Much preferred the old one, so i purchased that.
Somehow the new case shape didn’t do it for me, the rounded case of the old one is way way nicer.
do you think its gonna get up there with the sub and get etc.... or is gonna really easy to get ???
I don’t think any Rolex ever will be easy to get…but this one, being so unusual is perhaps slightly easier right now anyway

New model without the full solid white gold 369 dial is kinda sad.
Prefer the discontinued model with thicker Faraday case.. It looks more tough on wrist compare to the thinner new model model now.

I love the AirKing I have both 116900 and the126900 I had a submariner but sold it as I found it boring also what put me off was the amount of fake Rolex submariners that people were wearing,
markers could be minutes or seconds, so technically you didn't need to correct yourself!
