    My favorite-est moments in Star Wars:
    Ep. I = Obi-Wan & Qui-Gon vs. Darth Maul
    Ep. II = Jango and Obi-Wan in the astroid belt with the sonic blasts
    Ep. III = Anything with Palpatine (especially the Darth Plagueis monologue)
    Solo = The Kessel Run ("I've got a really good feeling about this.")
    Rogue One = Vader scene. Obvs.
    Ep. IV = Rescuing Leia/the trash compactor
    Ep. V = Vader vs. Luke (also just everything with Yoda)
    Ep. VI = Speeder bike chase
    Ep. VII = Finn & Rey & the Millennium Falcon vs. the TIE fighters
    Ep. VIII = Luke and Yoda

      Ep. I - Lightsaber duel
      Ep. II - Arena battle
      Ep. III - Paplatine
      Solo - Han in the imperial academy
      RO - Hologram scene
      Ep. IV - Binary Sunset
      Ep. V - The entire 3rd act
      Ep. VI - Throne Room
      Ep. VII - The entire 1st act
      Ep. VIII - Luke vs Kylo Ren

      Pretty much the same except
      Ep. II = Count Dooku
      Ep. III = Obi Wan vs Anakin
      Ep. VI = Luke vs Vader (vs Palpatine)
      Ep. VII = Han Solo (Not his death)
      Ep. VIII = Hyper Kamikaze (Despite some people's opinions)

      Crazy good video. You put into words how I feel while watching star wars!
      My top 3 moments:
      1. Epidosde 3: Anakin V Obi Wan
      2. Episode 3: The Last Time Anakin and Obi Wan see each other as friends
      3. Rogue One: Vader Scene

      Ep. 1- same
      Ep. 2- Anakin’s first taste of the dark side (all though brief watching his mother die in his arms and his subsequent murder of the two sand people is powerfully heartbreaking)
      Ep. 3- the battle of heroes (parallel climactic duels)
      Solo- the gratuitous maul reveal lol
      Honestly this movie did nothing for me.
      RO- SAME (obviously)
      Ep. 4- Han and Luke shooting down tie fighters onboard the millennium falcon after they escaped the Death Star
      Ep.5- same
      Ep.6- literally any scene with Luke. (Let’s be honest he carries this movie)
      Ep.7- the battle of takodana (traitor!)
      Ep.8- when projection Luke exists the blown open bay doors and faces down the first order. (Personally indifferent towards this movie)

    Is there any reason in particular that any EFAP related comments have been deleted?

    • @MakeStuffStudios
      @MakeStuffStudios  4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Yep! As I mentioned in the video, people should be able to have some spaces where they can just enjoy a harmless thing they like without a bunch of other people needlessly challenging that enjoyment or calling them assholes, idiots, objectively wrong, etc. In the same way that, if I'm just chilling with my friends watching an old, fun slasher film, I wouldn't especially appreciate dozens of people coming into that space, pointing out all the plot inconsistencies and everything they didn't personally like about the character portrayals. Whether or not those other people are justified in their distaste, people need spaces where they can just enjoy things. And those spaces are generally better when there's a social dynamic with mutual fans (like I also mention in the video). Especially right now, when simple joys are often the things keeping people going through these absolutely terrible, terrifying times. (I know that's absolutely the case for me these days, still recovering from an especially shitty/scary bout with covid, where I was told over and over how much stress can worsen my condition/immune system.) So I thought it'd be cool to make this video/comment section one of those spaces! Which is why I've moderated the comments so that people can just talk about a thing they like and enjoy other people's positive experiences with that thing, too. It's also why I've not only deleted EFAP stuff, but also dozens of comments from people shitting on EFAP fans and TLJ haters, as well as comments from prequel haters, etc. - the moderation is nowhere near confined to just EFAP folks. I understand a lot of folks find this to somehow be morally reprehensible or censorship, but, in the same way that I'd lock the door if I saw those dozens of people coming to crash my slasher film get-together, I'm entirely comfortable with using the moderation tools yt has given me to create whatever nonharmful space I want on my personal channel. Luckily for EFAP folks, they've still got their own space (and the entirety of the rest of the internet) for the conversations they wanna have :]

      @RikkiSan1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +30

      @@MakeStuffStudios No I'm not...in fact I was afraid you were gonna delete my comment too. Dude...correct me if I'm wrong, but the impression that I got from this video was "Don't be mean to things I like" and that's not to mock you...that is all I got. Throughout this video you make unsubstantiated biased claims, your appeal to emotion seems fake, and you make yourself look like you and the people you featured are the "ideal SW fans" and that you should just blindly accept everything Star Wars because "Oh we're a fandom". You didn't restore balance...if anything videos like this is why the fandom IS UNBALANCED. Also...maybe...just maybe...your viewers SHOULD see criticism of you so that they can question your logic as well as their own in order to stimulate discussion and maybe have POINTS OF VIEW. And hopefully you as a content creator can better yourself from said criticism!

    • @MakeStuffStudios
      @MakeStuffStudios  4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      The video is literally about how fans of films (even if it's only some of the films, or even if it's only Star Wars Racers, etc. - something I say throughout the video) understand that there are people who dislike certain films, and still need spaces where they can enjoy whatever individual films they enjoy without harassment instead of getting sucked into debates and arguments. It's also a call for not going out of your way to attack people for liking or disliking a Star Wars film. My entire plea boils down to "there should be some spaces where people can just enjoy a thing" and I've stuck to that plea by working to make this video one of those places, since it's one of the few spaces I have the power to do that. And your response to my wanting a positive space is "you should allow negative things in this positive space". It's no different from salty men who crash women-only gatherings that are meant to be specific, designated spaces in which people can just escape from their hellish existence for two seconds of their life. You have the entirety of the internet to make whatever arguments against this video. People on this website have literally profited off of exactly that. And I habe zero problems with those other spaces existing. But to act like it's some great evil, or even unreasonable, that you're not allowed to burst into the middle of a fan club meeting to force everyone to listen to why *you* think Thing is Bad is honestly (and concerningly) one of the most bizarre, entitled, and selfish things I've heard. Let people enjoy a thing in a space designated for enjoy a thing. Don't like the thing? Cool, Mauler's got you covered. And you can keep commenting on the video so that I see your criticisms until your fingers bleed. I'm honestly totally cool with that. But I set out to replicate the environment of "it's okay to find common ground on a popular thing, no matter what you like or don't like," and the gals, guys, and otherwise who can't sleep at night because I kicked them out of the fan club for being disruptive will continue to live, with all of their rights and EFAP vids intact.
      It seems like it sincerely hurts you that your otherwise wholly unobstructed opinions are being excluded from the comments section of one of the hundreds of billions of videos on the internet. And that you seem to sincerely care about whatever severe damage might be done to the other minds who see this comment section and are somehow incapable of conjuring an informed and reasoned opinion towards what I've created without your direct and vital input. I do think you're sincere in your perspective. But I think that's more an issue with your thinking you're entitled to have a voice in every single aspect of the lives of any and every total stranger about whatever harmless thing they like. Which you aren't. You really, really aren't.
      If you feel like talking about some random Star Wars stuff you dig, you've come to the right place! Let's have some actual fun talking about how kickass the Thrawn novels are, or that Mace Windu episode of Tartakovsky's Clone Wars, or the bonkers sound design on Jango Fett's seismic bombs👌👌 I would sincerely love to hear your opinions on that front. And from there we could find even more common ground and maybe even form a friendship, because I'm sure you are a pretty awesome person, despite our differences in opinions on Last Jedi, Make Stuff videos, or comment section entitlement. Which sounds like a sincerely kickass use of our time :]

What did Obi-Wan actually do after becoming "more powerful than you could possibly imagine", he talked to Luke a bit? I loved "the Last Jedi", and you nailed the reason why. TLJ is about failure, over and over and over again.
    The whole movie is watching your heroes fail, and failure is scary. But the point of the movie is that failure is not necessarily desolation. Failure can be the catalyst for growth. It was a story of how to be optimistic when everything is falling apart.

    • @TheFreakKid12
      @TheFreakKid12 5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      But that that is not a new concept for starwars, the prequels showed the failure of the Jedi Order, a major part of The Emprie Strikes Back was Luke failing, failing to protect his friends and failing to listen to his teacher, then her learned from this failing and was able to bring his father back from the dark side

      @@TheFreakKid12. You're right that failure is a prominent theme in several of the movies. But, IMO, none of the main films make that the central point of the movie. All of them show some significant triumph at the end, except RotS. And none of them as as beaten at the end. Even in RotS, the Senate is still a thing and there is still a loose network of powerful people resisting. At the end of TLJ, everyone fighting the first order is more or less jammed onto the Millennium Falcon. There is no more fleet, likely no more cash, and no more than 20-40 people in the whole thing.
      I find that tension very exciting.

    • @TheFreakKid12
      @TheFreakKid12 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@joranbooth5529 I can see that, personally I don't feel that tension, even though the resistance/rebellion is at the lowest point we have ever seen them at, I don't think that they will fail. I'm not intimidated by either Kylo or Hux, Rey has beaten Kylo essentially twice now, once when he was physically and mentally impaired (the force awakens, which is more understandable why she could win) and then again in the Last Jedi, she was able to recover from their battle/the ship crash (whichever one caused their incapacitation) and left to go save the resistance, so I don't doubt her ability to do it again. and Hux has been downgraded from Kylo's equal to just a sniveling yes-man so if Kylo loses that seems like game over for the First Order. hopefully Episode 9 knocks it out of the park, but currently im not too excited for it.

    For real though, this was incredibly thorough and encompasses what I think are how a lot of people feel about not just this specific community, but frankly a ton of different kinds of communities. Star Wars is merely a microcosm of the conversations you touch on, distilled down into elements that are related specifically to Star Wars.
    You're 100% right. Not only if we as a community of folks who love a thing want to survive as a community, but we as a SOCIETY are meant to survive.

    Serious, that's how so many SWU fanbois and stans sound. I had a similar viewing pattern as you too: first time I saw TLJ, I thought it was alright, second time, I thought it was bad, third time, I realized it was an instant classic. I realized how brilliant it was, how the characters were suddenly human and had flaws, etc. It's a phenomenal character study on so many of the characters. If someone doesn't like it, that's fine. Just don't go arguing with me and saying it was terrible, because Star Wars is loaded with terrible inconsistencies that kinda take me out of it... but I don't care, Star Wars rocks! People calling it "feminist propaganda" need to read newspaper articles from the 70's that call Ep. IV the same thing, just because Leia was a fuckin' badass bitch and wasn't the classic damsel-in-distress trope.

    I was born the year the first one came out but when I was old enough to watch it I was hooked. I still remember my dad coming into port from the Navy and picking me up from pre school. He brought me home early, I wanted peanut butter and jelly, a dill pickle, and chocolate milk for lunch and we say in the floor and watched it. I fell asleep during the movie but, that's literally my first memory of my father. My kids never showed interest in them but after the force awakens came out they both agreed to go to the movies with me and watch it. that weekend we came home and my daughter's and I watched 4, 5, 6 then 1, 2, 3. and it was probably one of the most emotional things I've ever done. My dad is gone now, and he never knew them. But I'd like to think I left them with the same experience he left me with, and in that, he still touched their lives. Star Wars can do no wrong by me.

    For me, I'd say...
    Episode I - that moment when Qui-Gon touches Obi-Wan's face after being injured by Maul
    Episode II - that moment when Anakin touches Padmé's lower back when they're looking out on the lake
    Episode III - when Palpatine tells the tale of Darth Plaqueis during the opera scene
    Solo - when I recognized Lady Proxima to be voiced by Oscar-winner, Linda Hunt
    Rogue One - when Jyn and Cassian embraced as the blast approached them
    Episode IV - Luke looking at the twin suns of Tatooine, contemplating his future + Alec Guiness' reaction to Han's claim about the Kessel Run + Carrie Fisher's delivery of the line, "Somebody has to save our skins. Into the garbage chute, flyboy!"
    Episode V - anything Yoda-related + the Mark Hamill's reaction when Vader reveals his paternal secret
    Episode VI - James Earl Jones' delivery of "It's too late for me, son."
    Episode VII - the way Han touches Ben/Kylo's face before he falls off the catwalk
    Episode VIII - so many!!! if I had to distill it to several... Leia trying to impress upon Poe the difference between heroes and leaders + Leia using the Force when she neared death + seeing the subjective differences during the 3 successive flashbacks of when Luke contemplated preventing the Dark Side fallout of what Ben might become + the Praetorian Guard fight along with the subsequent dialogue + lastly, the callback to Luke becoming one with the Force as he stared at the twins suns of Ahch-To

    Empathy, in my opinion, is the ultimate ideal all humankind should strive toward. Empathy makes you a better person in every way, it stops conflict before it can even begin, and it connects us all to each other in mind and heart. I have actively spent my life since a very young age honing my sense of empathy, my ability to understand others and allowing that understanding to influence and motivate my actions, and it is the one thing I like enough about myself to actually admit it.

    As a Star Wars fan. I loved this video, it was extremely well crafted. When I first watched episode 8. I was some what disappointed, but never targeted the director or actors. I had a friend along with me, she noticed that I was complaining a bit much about things because of my expectations. After several months, when the Last Jedi was available on Netflix. I watched the film again. And well, I like it, I never hated it before either. It’s what a Star Wars film should be. A fun ride, exploring new parts of the galaxy and more. Now one can say, that since I watched it again, and knew everything that happened. I had to obviously like it. But to be fair, it was my second viewing nearly 9 months after it came out. By then, my memory on the film was uncertain. I remembered key plot points, but forget the entire story upon itself. And I enjoyed, and picked out the mistakes of myself and others online about the film. I saw the film as, well a film. But primarily a Star Wars film. It’s fun, and lately I have been trying to understand the division with the fandom. And there’s a lot in general. Several points in Star Wars’ history can be seen as point where the film is divided. It’s both a good thing and bad. Everyone has a part to love, but people debate as you mentioned. As of today, a Vader fan film is coming out, and it’s not monetized and made by a person who has seen the good in the fandom and franchise. I want to create things from Star Wars, and read all of the books and more. Also a if not obvious by more profile picture, I collect a lot of Star Wars LEGO. The fandom needs to find a way to mend its division, it’s also something that I believe Lucasfilm should help in. I want Star Wars to be Star Wars, now I haven’t been able to go to conventions that are primarily Star Wars. But, have seen Star Wars cosplayers, and how amazing it is. Honestly, I could have a long conversation on what Star Wars is, it’s fandom and understanding the current Star Wars and Fandom. I remember when I first saw the force awakens trailer, I was in an apple store alongside my older brother. He hasn’t seen it yet, so I looked it up on the nearest iPad and showed him. It was fulfilling, to live when a new trilogy was to be born. Nowadays, I don’t have that feeling, it’s just whatever. Now, I’m unsure of what exactly why that is, but if talked about, I could very well see why. Either way, Star Wars is fun, so let’s keep it that way.

    Thank you. Seriously, thank you.
    The Last Jedi is the reason I started a channel. It moved me deeply, and I felt like it tipped me over a line to wanting to be creative... to make stuff as it were. That’s a huge deal for me.
    When the initial wave of hate started washing the Internet I felt not just disheartened, but attacked. Detaching myself from that feeling, not take that kinda thing personally, was harder than I thought it could be. I guess there’s that sense of ownership you talk about. There’s me, feeling like someone is inadvertently telling me that my newfound drive, my motivation, my excitement to be a part of this fandom was “objectively” wrong.
    The anger that comes with that, for me, is something I’m not happy with. Fighting other fans isn’t what I signed up for.
    Hearing you state clearly, plainly, and definitively “what harassment is”, and asking ‘why anyone would want to impose that on someone else’ is important to hear. It never makes sense to me. We’re not in this to fight each other. We’re here to love something collectively. Why the hell would anyone want to take that away from anyone else? It’s not what any of us signed up for.

    So I watched this yesterday and have been thinking about it. Even a year after the movie came out I really really hated it. I watched it with my wife just after release and was thinking it was a 5 out of 10. Now I am not blaming Mark Hamill (Who I love) for anything, but his comments leading up to the movie really made me uneasy. How he trashed it and basically told everyone how Luke was not the Luke he knew or wanted to portray. I really wish now that Disney had left the original trilogy characters alone. It would have solved most of the hatred I think. By doing what they have done, it really helped split the fandom. They have every right since they paid a lot of money for it, but I just wish they would have told their story with the new characters and left the old alone. That being said I have been one of those who would tell anyone how much the movie sucked, how I hated and why. For months I watched you tubers who agreed with me and even pointed out more reasons why I should hate it and it fueled how I felt. I was right! The majority agreed with me, rotten tomatoes said so. I really felt such anger and disgust at a movie. Why? To say its just a movie is not fair, since I have seen and felt the same as many when they talk about their childhood. I am 43 now and just love how the original trilogy was so great. Any logic holes in it didn't matter to me. It was a space fantasy and I loved it. Seeing this video and hearing how that guy saw a dad take his son to the movie and how it added a new level of bonding really struck home. I never had any of that myself and really wish I had. To think that some people really love the movie was incomprehensible to me. I would point out all the flaws that I saw and others helped me see, yet when I said things it was always with attitude that I was right and they were wrong. This presenter put together something that reminded me, like he wanted I think, that its for everyone and my entitlement needed to go away. I don't own it. It was definitely not the star wars experience I wanted and that will never change and thats also ok. My wife liked it and then I took my mom to it from out of town and she liked it and my first words to her when the credits started to roll were so negative about the movie, I think I shocked her. I look back now and feel rather stupid and will look to apologize for my comments. I was so angry at Disney and Kathleen Kennedy that I was a full supporter of boycotting Solo. I have never not gone to see a star wars movie until then and I was full of myself. I was making a stand, making a point. I was happy they lost money on it. It continued to fuel my self satisfying need that I was right. I watched it many months later and thought it was ok. I had no intentions of supporting Disney and giving any more of my money because of how I felt. Whenever I saw someone who defended The Last Jedi, I would ignore their videos. Once I tried to watch one and grew more angry as I disagreed with what they said. How was this helping me? It wasn't and I lost all perspective of what I loved about it in the beginning. It was not the star wars experience I was hoping for and wanting. I do plan on seeing episode 9 now. I have finally let go of my real hate of the movie and Disney for the moment. Strangely I feel better physically. Its like a little weight is gone. At the end of the day everyone can find something about star wars they love. They can really love some characters and hate others. But the fans are amazing to watch at conventions and the passion they have. I never want my comments to hurt anyone, let alone a kid who really loved the movie. My vitriol was never about race or gender, but how at the core they treated Luke, everything else came from that. I admit that I am really hoping the new trilogy that the game of throne creators have been given turns out to be the star wars experience that I want.

    I find this video really powerful to me. You're pointing out a lot of things about the fandom I've been thinking about over the months. My first experience with Star Wars (in theaters) was the force awakens. I thought it was a solid Star Wars movie, and having watched the Clone Wars (2003 and 2008) before hand, and watching all the other movies, it has a certain magic to it. I did enjoy the last jedi, but I'm not here to specifically talk about that. I just played Star Wars Battlefront 2 with my dad, Hero vs Villains, and we had such a great time. We laughed so hard that we cried and rolled on the floor (he doesn't have much experience with games). Star Wars is one of the RARE things we bond over, besides that we are almost polar opposites. Star Wars has a lot of magic to it and I owe a lot to it. My childhood watching the originals, sneaking with my brother to take my parents laptop and watch the prequels, and gathering around a TV late at night to watch the Clone Wars on ABC 3. Star Wars is amazing, and I'm sure we ALL agree on that, but I feel that we are becoming more and more divided and we NEED to come back together over the one thing we all know and love, regardless if Rey is a Mary Sue: STAR WARS

    What I've always loved about star wars were the concepts and cool imagery. The original series gave us space magic and laser swords and massive space warships, which then became popularized as staples of media. The new series are giving us astral projection fights, the sheer destruction of a relativistic impact, and force powered spacewalking. Here's me hoping more films make good on the use of an FTL drive strapped onto a missile, because that scene was AWESOME.

    Favorite Moment, possible in any Star Wars, but certainly in my head right now, is just a few brief shots from Episode 2. When the Jedi are surrounded on Geonosis and the Republic Gunships drop in, lasers blasting everywhere, the scenes with them strafing around the arena, holy moly I love that. Pretty much all the Clone stuff in Ep2. Also the entire space battle opening of Ep3. The introduction of one of the coolest ships, ARC-170s, super fun and the drum beat gets me every time.

    Star Wars has been a growing community. Not just the fandom. And with growth comes responsibility. People lack responsibility. A force of will, is not reasoning. Constructing criticism is much harder than most people think. It‘s the lack of responsibility that makes the fandom fall apart. Just saying that something or somebody is stupid / wrong is not criticism. It is a force of will. It‘s the responsibility we all have towards others that is directly tied to the praise or in many cases nowadays criticism. So how do we change? It‘s a process everybody has to go through, whether they liked a certain thing or not. Learning how to construct praise or criticism in a way it shows a said opinion, without harming anyone, because that‘s what criticism is. It‘s not just an opinion. It‘s an opinion, an explanation and an example. In other words.
    I enjoyed The Last Jedi, because it gave us something new, like the battle between Luke ans Kylo, while implementing some old known atmospheres in a new way, like the casino scene.
    What is responsibility? Where is the thin line between a force of will and criticism as well as praise?
    Everybody has to decide for themselves whether they want to change with the times, or stay where they are, enjoy what has passed. Every fan has to decide for themselves, they can share they‘re opinion, because that‘s what gives a conversation it‘s flesh, but they can‘t force their will on others.
    It‘s more that we should together enjoy what everybody likes, rathe than hate what everybody hates.

    I love the question you asked us at the end just to keep the positivity going.
    After a lot of thought, I gotta go with this moment:
    Cassian Andor: "I've been in this fight since I was SIX YEARS OLD!"
    That line. Makes me tear up. Every time. Even typing this. And that line has a LOT of personal meaning to me. Cassian is played by a Mexican actor. I'm Mexican-American. It is INDESCRIBABLY important to me to see fair and equal representation in movies like Star Wars and to have Diego Luna deliver that line, which had a LOT of real world context, meant everything to me.
    Fantastic video.

      YES! I was on the fence a bit with his character after his opening scene ("That good guy just killed another guy in a not-very-good-guy way, whaaaa???"), but when he said that line, it immediately made him the most empathetic and fascinating character in the film for me. Really, really, really looking forward to his series 🙌🙌🙌

    • @hectorminator
      @hectorminator 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Make Stuff SAME. (I loved when he killed the guy, because it felt like something “the idea of Han” would do, but something Han would never actually do, because he’s not a complex “realistic” character to me, Han is a very good guy and always has been.)
      But Cassian delivered on that promise of a complex real-world character in the fantasy of Star Wars. I loved that. I was intrigued.
      I fell in love with Cassian after that line, and he’s my favorite Star Wars character to this day.

    I'm from Argentina. My sister and I have a tradition, everytime a new Star Wars film premieres we go together to the movie theater to watch it no matter what. We've never been huge Star Wars fans, we are reIatively new to the fandom. I saw the original trilogy in 2015, because i heard that episode 7 was coming, and in that time it was the most popular and awaited movie of the year. Fans literally were treating it like it was the second coming of Christ or something like that. So... it got me curious, and i saw the previous ones in order, starting from Episode 4 to Episode 6, and i loved them all. Even if the special effects were, in my personal view, kind of outdated... the story, the universe, the themes and the characters were so atractive and amazing, that it wrapped me up since the very beggining. So then, i decided to show them to my sister, and she also loved every single one of them. I remember the first time we saw the trailer for The Force Awakens for the first time, and we both cried by just hearing the music. It was just so god damn emotional, seeing Han Solo, Leia, and the Millenium Falcon again... it brough tears to my eyes just remembering it. That's how we loved the saga. The Star Wars movies are an important part of our lives, because they brought us closer as brother and sister. All the best memories i have with these movies, i have them with her.
    We went to see The Force Awakens that year, and she cried the hell out of it, from the opening crawl, to the end credits. We both cheered and clapped out loud when the movie ended, and we were already excited for Episode 8.
    Having watched The Last Jedi now, i can surely say that i loved it at first view. I came out of the theather thinking it was the best Star Wars movie i've ever saw. I've legitimately cried during the whole third act of the film just because of how breathtakingly beautiful and emotional some scenes were. I was on the edge of my seat during the encounter between Luke and Kylo, it gave me goosebumps, my jaw dropped many times, it was just EPIC. And then Luke started his speech about how he would not be the last jedi, and then we saw Rey lifting those rocks with the force... we started crying. When Luke died, seeing the binary sunset for the last time, it was just the perfect send off for the character, like a full circle coming to a close. Obviously i had problems with the movie, like the excessive use of comedy, and the contradictory behavior of Luke sometimes with the rest of the saga (trying to kill his own nephew...), but overall i LOVED the movie. I had no problem whatsoever with Rose or Finn characters, just that i thought their scenes in Canto Bight stretched out too long. I have the same opinion of everyone when it comes to the subplot of the rebels, like i didn't care too much about them like i cared with Luke, Rey and Kylo storyline. I didn't like Admiral Holdo's character, at all... but her sacrifice was AMAZING. And that scene with Leia using the force, i have to admit it was kind of ridiculous. It was a good idea, but a really awful execution. For me, the storyline with Luke, Rey and Kylo, and the entire third act of the movie, made it worth everything. Now, with a more clear mind, i can say that maybe wasn't the best Star Wars movie, my favourite is still The Return of the Jedi, but i put The Last Jedi as the third best, behind Empire Strikes Back.
    For the precuels, i really didn't care about them very much... i kind of liked The Phantom Menace, hated Attack of the Clones, and really loved Revenge of the Sith. But sometimes the plot with these movies felt really convulted and confusing, even for me that i'm one of those people that loved the second and third one of the Pirates of the Caribbean series, despite of how complicated they were, because i really like complex stories. My problems with the precuels were maybe because, in the precuels, i wasn't invested that much in the characters and their motivations as i was in the original trilogy, were everything was more simple but you could feel attached and identified with the three main protagonists. I felt some lines of dialogue were kind of stupid and the acting was kind of dull, specially in Attack of the Clones, were not only those were the only problems, but the plot was so unfocused and convulted i could hardly tell what was it about, even if i remembered it. The only thing i remember about that movie was Yoda fighting with lightsaber, and Anakin and Padme romance, and that wasn't very well executed, at least for me... Oh, and Shmi's death. Overall, i could not find anything memorable about that movie, it just felt like an empty transition movie to me.

    After watching this video I really feel like I owe an apology to some friends and I also feel like I owe it to myself to own up to the fact that I´ve been a huge ass to people about the kind of stuff they enjoy and admitting that is, I hope, going to be a good step towards not doing that again.
    It´s just an idea, but maybe we can get #ImGladULikeIt or sth along those lines trending amongst some Star Wars fans, that´d be nice, I think.

It seems like the hate is on both sides of the fandom, and that's the tragedy. I've seen people who love TLJ and will just shit on anyone who expresses any criticism of the movie, even when that criticism is legitimate.
      Just like the Jedi and Sith, both extremes are wrong, there needs to be more tolerance and a willingness to hear the other side. Anyway, back to what I was saying earlier. Thank you for taking this all important step. The extremists on both sides of the fence need to remember what Star Wars is about.

I unfortunately, slightly slipped into how he put it, “Pushing people to love the film.” But then, slowly it occurred to me what I was doing, and now, I’ve been trying for several months, essentially to try and be a peacemaker and help in perhaps slowly fixing the gap as he put it. Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s something we can do overnight, but we might as well start now.
