It's funny how Revenge of the Sith seemed like basically all of the Jedi were killed, but with expanded media it makes Order 66 look like it didn't do it's job super well haha
Probably cuz they want us to lose all hope so that a “New Hope” can rise since none of the old Jedi can face the sith they stay alive to pass down their knowledge to Luke
I think that was originally the intention, but as time went on, more content was needed so we had more and more survivors appear, but yeah, it's quite funny how they always pop up like hey, I'm also still around
Statistically it did very well. If you think about it, there was about 10000 Jedi KNIGHTS, bit counting padawans, younglings or those who failed the trials and became part of agricultural corps (younglings who got no master to become Padawan), or all these rogue Jedi and padawans who abandoned all contacts with Jedi order. We also obviously know more named Jedi who survived the purge because there was a plenty of media before prequels that featured quite a number of Jedi who never encountered Luke but still were around for a while (Beldorian the Hutt or that one crazy Jedi Hag who fell for a time during Dark Empire). Jedi, just like sith, has their roots set deep in the galaxy and it's places. Even if all members of Jedi Order and Sith Order die in a single moment at the same time, there still would be someone who would inherit their beliefs, because of some cults and branches like Witches of Dathomir or Shapers of Shavar, or because of Force Ghosts and Sith Spirits. There is a storyline in Old Canon, where Bounty Hunter and former rogue Jedi finds spirit of one of the Oldest Sith, he becomes their apprentice and therefore becomes 2nd Generation of Sith, or even just Exar Kun, who met Marka Ragnos spirit and only because of that he started learning Sith holocrons and started his own War. To kill Jedi and Sith, it would take to kill everything in the galaxy.
Yeah I'd agree, Order 66 wiped the Jedi Order from the galaxy, so they were no longer any threat to the empire as an organization, usually, it's not 1 individual that could topple an entire empire
@@StickmanAnakinthere’s entire species and planets that fought the empire in small wars Even some high ranks were against the empire Like callus or the dad of Jin erso

When you have no sight you need to put your entire trust in the force it’s insane how strong in the force some of these survivors of order 66 Padwans were almost like the force alone is the reason why they survived
My favorite survivor, interestingly, is a legends story. I forgot his original name cuz it’s been so long (and I’m too lazy to google it) but was a tuskan turned Jedi who survived order 66, turned sort of to the dark side, had a fight with obi wan and lost humiliatingly, then spent time in the outer rim for the next 30 ish years in hiding before being captured by the vong, being tortured and mutilated, fully turning to the dark side to escape, then building an empire of his own in secret it the unknown regions and conquering the galaxy around 132ABY (if I recall correctly)
I swear he has a hard-on for his creation. He probably sleeps with her picture on his ceiling. Why do you think he had her dress like Aayla Secura when she was 14?
'From a certain point of view' Yoda was telling the truth. Seeing as he'd been in exile since the Purge he couldn't have known that others survived. Thus he might have thought he was right. Alternatively, even if he could sense others, he needed Luke to carry on their legacy so made this possibility into an ultimatum. Even if there were others, Luke was their last, best chance of defeating Palpatine. No need to muddy his resolve with distraction and indecision. Although as we saw he still needed some help from Obi-wan.
The remaining jedi at that point had pretty much all been forced to abandon the jedi code to some extent, so even if Yoda knew about them (and I doubt he did) he may not have considered them to truly be jedi anymore
@@serpenthydraNo he wasn't. Yoda can telepathically contact other surviving jedi like he did with Kanan and Ahsoka. That part about Luke being the last hope for the jedi order was retconned and there is no reconciling it.
@@erickonami1 Kanan was dead by ROTJ. Ashoka had been discredited and had left the Order. Technically, by Yoda's strict traditional values, she was no longer a 'Jedi'...

Dagobah was known for being strong in the light side of the force, not dark. You could be mistaken because the Cave of Evil exists on the planet. (where Luke fights the specter of Vader)
Im sure you left him out cause it was just an easter egg in Kenobi, but Rahm Kota also survived Order 66 and zero canon info is known about him. Hes one of my fav legends jedi though so I figured I'd point him out
The more and more Jedi that keep coming back just makes order 66 less meaningful and less effective. I know everyone goes ohh there were about 10,000 Jedi and now there are only like 100. Dude in the original there weren’t any! There at most should be like 30-50 Jedi/force users left at most and I’m also taking in the account post order 66. And no mace should stay dead or be killed by boba without Vader knowing.
I see a lot of People saying ooh wauw order 66, was not as effective as it should have been yes guys it was very very effective the jedi around that time had over 10 thousend member only a 100 survived plus those who did survive were broken in mind and spirit also over half of them cut thsemself off of the force so bassicly there were only like 30/40 able jedi left maybe a little bit more
In legends Vader fought groups of masters and knights at a in legends it's always been like this. Some of them even survived long enough to become members of Luke's New jedi orders.
Someone else in the comments did the math and found that 96% of 10,000 Jedi were killed in the purge, at least that we know of. Considering that there were Jedi all over the Galaxy at the time on the field and some were likely unaccounted for, that is an almost unbelievable rate of efficiency. If a 4% survival rate is too high for you, then I don’t what else to say.
Dude there were literally 10,000 Jedi Knights before order 66. There are probably less than 100 known survivors. I’d say wiping out 99% of the Jedi is just fine.
Doesn’t matter what you think it’s canon. Unfortunately a lot of Disney’s stuff is canon. Ahsoka is a great character so I’m not sure what your issue is there. She’s literally the perfect example of how you should treat a character. Dave introduced her and she was very poorly written, so instead of just blaming the fans like modern Star Wars creators do he said “my bad” and wrote a character arc for her.
