    My buddy is 30 yrs old and can lace wheels but says brakes are difficult and doesn't have the patience to work on them. He's brakeless. I run 2 brakes, and he always wants to ride my bike. Closet brake lover won't commit to putting brakes on his bike, but will ride mine. Smdh

    I run 2.35 max for my tires when using brakes, and go 2.4 and up for brakeless.. can't really tell the difference when running 2.35 or 2.5 with the same air pressure. Don't really need a 2.5 but I just love the look of bigger tires on my bmx

    After swapping a 15 t to 16 t freewheel and fatter tire its rubbing on brake arm. I need to lengthen my chain by one half link.

    So I run 2.35 tires on a Sunday sound wave I have brake arm rub when ever I use my lever the arm closes and rubs so I pull the arm back away from the wheel when im seshing and it doesn’t rub only when I pull my lever it rubs I have pad clearance on both sides and don’t think my wheels need tuned what would I do to make that ONE single arm rubbing not rub? Would it be just a simple tightening or loosening the arm cable idk need help or about to rip my brake off 😂

    Is there a better brake pad for pinned rims?

    Man I changed out my cult pads with some red supra2 pads and holy crap what a difference

    Hey bro I think my dropouts are both angled to one side from practicing 180s, and now my rear tire always wants to touch one side of the bike crookedly. Any way to straighten the dropouts?

    • @Brant_Moore
      @Brant_Moore  ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't recommend that. Your frame is significantly weaker now if the rear triangle is bent and bent back

    Good tips but when all else fails I’ve used a dremel tool to shave a fraction of the brake arms to suit. Hit it bit of paint - boom - clearance solved

    Add few spacers on brake pads

  • @Championbmxspokane
    @Championbmxspokane 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Also if anyone needs to know the mission brakes have the most clearance in my experiences. So if you have a wide rim with a 2.4-2.5 tire these might be your only hope.

      Thanks Kurt!
      They have more than the kink ones?

    • @Championbmxspokane
      @Championbmxspokane 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Brant_Moore they do. It’s a more rounded fit also where as the kink ones are a bit flat towards the top of the tires. Also obviously there is variables like the frame, the tires, how the brakes are set up. But if someone is having troubles with wide tires they are the last resort and they actually work decent if you get better pads but still a bit flexy

      @COSMO I know the colony brakes I have had in my hands did t have a lot of clearance so proceed with caution

    I could've sworn you said in another vid that running the thicker spacer in the inside was better. I've been trying different things but, I can't get the brakes to where they'll lock.

    • @Brant_Moore
      @Brant_Moore  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That was in a video about maximizing your brakes when you’re able to. This one is about fixing brake rub and sometimes you don’t have that choice

    • @hectorn.6137
      @hectorn.6137 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Brant_Moore ok thanks for clearing that up cuz I made the switch. Lol Still can't get them to bite. Next is different pads. Do you have a recommendation for pads on painted rims?

    • @Brant_Moore
      @Brant_Moore  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Any clear pads should grip pretty well on a painted rim, I like the eclat pads just because of how thick they are. Makes them last a long time
