@@JNPollard I can recommend making your own ice cream. I make "nice"-cream from frozen bananas (frozen banana, cocoa powder, dairy milk (I use oat milk)) in a high speed blender - voila: a delicious and healthy alternative. You can mix it up of course, instead of cocoa powder you can use different fruit or vanilla etc.
It is really disgusting when you think about it. The problem is that (at least in the US) people have been brainwashed into thinking that it is a health food from an early age
Well, you aren't a baby cow so you don't need it. It boggles the mind why adult humans, weened from mother's breast milk, still finds the need to drink/consume dairy. Think about it!!! Yeah Cheese tastes good but it's inherently addictive so...Stop. Wake up.
All I know is that I had severe cystic acne when I consumed dairy as a vegetarian. I do not miss those monthly cortisone shots and will never go back to milk even if it was the last food group on earth.
Loved cheese, decided to go vegan, missed cheese, ate some occasionally for up to a year after my decision, replaced with vegan cheese, quit missing dairy cheese, don’t crave it at all, rarely eat vegan cheese either, much healthier now.
K McClendon the difference is getting less as vegan cheeses get better. I only have a small amount of choices where I live. I am very happy with Daiya Smoked Gouda, their jalapeño jack is good too, to me both are amazingly dairy cheese like.
K McClendon Yes there is, esp if u r used to eating the bad one. But, over time, once u wein urself off it, get over the literal withdrawal symptoms (of being hooked on casomorphin) then u will find the alternatives an ok substitute. U can still have cheese n wine, but with vegan cheese.👍✌️
Thank you for the excellent video. I am a plant based vegan. My family and friends are farmers and raise chickens, turkeys, pigs and cattle. My dietary choices has put me at ends with most all of them. They tolerate me, but you would think I was advocating devil worship. Most restaurants are a challenge too. Eating out and eating healthy requires a concerted effort. Besides providing a wealth of information these videos provide encouragement when it seems like most everything is working against the simple goal of eating healthy. Again, thank you Dr, Greger and your staff too.
It's never easy to be the one standing up for what you believe when the majority is against you. Imagine, in the past, standing up for emancipation or a woman's right to vote. We can't expect this to be easy, either, it's just something that has to be done to enact change! Keep it up!
I'm the only vegan I know in my life. It's never been easy and I have no one to hold myself accountable with but myself. But I'm doing this for health, earth, and animal. Always remember why you chose this path, an albeit uneasy one, a worthy one.
I remember reading an interview several decades ago with one of the major exponents of macrobiotics. I don't remember his name, but I do believe it was in the magazine "East West Journal" that was fairly popular in the late seventies in health food circles. Anyway, one comment he made really stuck in my brain, and I've never heard it since from anyone, and it was about Ayurveda and dairy. According to him, the Ayurveda texts don't mention cancer much EXCEPT to say that it is caused by EXCESSIVE DAIRY intake! Whether this is true or not, it always fascinated me. But it had no effect on my own dairy consumption which was often fairly high on my vegetarian diet. Fortunately I am vegan now. Great video! Very informative! 👍
This video came in the nick of time. Just yesterday I was sitting through my nutrition laboratory listening to our lecturer promote the Australian Guideline to Healthy Eating which suggests that dairy is a "GOOD" source of nutrients and "may also help reduce the risk of high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and some cancers". Geez, maybe the Australian government is getting a little too generous in their dairy industry funding.
Jack. They are correct. Greger here is talking about one specific cancer (although not in the title). When taken as a whole, dairy has a slightly protective effect on all-cause mortality and all-cause cancer death. Rewatch the video and ask yourself if Greger is talking about cancer, or prostate cancer associations. Then look uo meta-analyses on dairy and cancer. This video title and format is misleading, switching between 'prostate cancer' and 'cancer' where convenient
paulgbhc Dr Greger is talking mainly about prostate and colon cancers here. Dairy appears to be bad for prostate cancer, and the calcium in dairy good for colon cancer. So his suggestion is to get your calcium from plant sources and fortified plant milks/foods and not dairy, so that you get the needed micronutrient (calcium) without the unhealthy package (dairy). That was my takeaway at least!🌱
@@laurieparis2203 Couple of things here. The Title of the video is "Dairy and Cancer" not "Dairy and Prostate Cancer". Secondly, Two thirds of the video is on PC, but then it extends into blaming increased cancer risk on IGF, and goes on to talk about Colorectal cancer. These two cancers are chosen specifically. Breast cancer is not discussed - Even through it is associated with a more protective effect than the prostate adverse effect. Again, taken as a whole, dairy is mildly protective against Cancer rates. That means that across all cancers it is more protective than not. Is that the impression that viewers get from a video titled "Dairy and Cancer"? I would suggest it pretty obviously isn't.
Not so sure about that. You are saying the supposed "poor quality diets" are the Western world yet, the Western nations are still at the top of the charts (excluding Japan) for health and longevity...According to that map, the countries with low prostrate cancer rates also have the lowest life expectancies.. Hmmm..
I doubt whether India's dairy intake is as high as the United States's--it's probably not even close. Just because you once had Indian food containing butter doesn't mean Indians consume crazy amount of dairy. Also, 40% of Indians are vegetarians, and the ones that aren't eat relatively little meat. Finally, Indians consume a lot of turmeric and other spices that are protective.
I lived in India, they do indeed consume a lot of dairy. Food is often cooked in ghee, and yogurt and milk products are eaten and drunk regularly. They eat a lot of fresh cheese (paneer) too. And yes, perhaps it is the tumeric?

Does anyone else notice the scientific slight on hand here? Title says "Dairy and Cancer". Says we need to look at meta-analyses. Greger then goes on to talk about a demonstrated dairy and *prostate* cancer. Then goes on to talk about how dairy grows cancer. Problem is that every meta-analysis shows that there is no association between dairy and all-cause mortality, or dairy and increased all cancer mortality. That's a problem for your hypothesis. By flashing up a few sentences, you can create unnecessary fear of dairy, which is what you've done nutritionsnippetstakenoutofcontext.com
Absolute nonsense. There is plenty of evidence that dairy is unhealthy, just because you choose to ignore it or you dont approve or this video doesnt make that research disappear.
@@ApexRevolution Hi Keith, that's not true mate. Every meta-analysis we have shows positive (protective) associations between dairy and: - CVD risk - All-cancer risk - All-cause mortality (some show neutral, some show slightly protective) - Obesity - Metabolic syndrome - Type II diabetes - Stroke If you have a meta-analysis that shows the opposite, I'd be grateful if you could share it. Of course, you might be talking about some other kind of evidence, like TH-cam videos or web articles, but it would be great if we could stick to outcome measured science.
From your picture, im guessing your risk of prostate cancer is low. Greger fails to mention that no meta-analysis has found an association between dairy and all-cause mortality, or dairy and all-cause cancer death. If anything, the evidence we have is that its slightly protective.
@@paulgbhc but it isn't necessary after all . There are many plants which protect against cancer , we can eat them instead of this puky disgusting milk
This is exactly what they don't advertise or tell you in the nutrition labels they advertise. Information - the correct information is free for all. The most ironic part of it is these are the same people who carry out research and put the information out there for everyone but choose what to advertise to the public. The point is, in this day and age where information is accessible to all if people wanna remain ignorant of the truth it's on them! Happy you're here to receive this information and thank you to the person relaying it. Now go and live a healthy life!
I was accidentally given dairy coffee at a cafe and I almost puked after taking a sip of my latte with cow's milk. It really tasted like someone's breast milk and I only stopped drinking milk 3 years ago!!
In an interview done many years ago during his Mr. Universe days, Arnold Schwarzenegger was asked if he drank milk. In response he said, "No. Milk is for babies. I like beer."
The moderate-high fat/low carb diet has also been able to achieve similar results as far as improvement in metabolic profile (reduce LDL, increase HDL, reduce triglycerides), reduce BP, reduce cancer rates, as well as reduce obesity, all of which are risk factors for CVD, stroke, CKD and the like. The benefits seen with the Bernard-style diet also has some overlap with the mod-high fat/low carb diet with the exception being of course the high fat part. With so much focus on macro nutrients and no emphasis on environmental factors (ex. herbicides like glyphosate), on the surface these two theories that yield similar results seem at odds with each other. Looking deeper, by advocating the removal of processed foods such as white flour/grains, simple sugars and by emphasizing whole, fresh foods, these two dieting styles both lead to the avoidance of the most widely used herbicide in the world, glyphosate. Being an analogue of the essential amino acid glycine (a neurotransmitter, an active component of substrate binding sites on numerous enzymes, as well as essential building block of collagen), glyphosate replaces glycine in the body. It is an endocrine disruptor, mitochondrial toxin as well as a mutagen. Its widespread and unregulated use has coincided with the dramatic rise in metabolic syndrome in recent decades. As such, it is a confounder in a lot of studies that purport the benefit of dairy avoidance without specifying if the dairy came from cows that were fed glyphosate-ridden processed grains. I bet if organic, grass-fed milk was studied, the conclusions of some of these studies would be quite different.
You're assuming animal protein, saturated/trans fats and cholesterol play no role in health. This has been studied well and it's very clear that you want to avoid animal products. You're also forgetting that milk is full of hormones, it's meant to grow a baby calf into a big cow and fast. To only blame a pesticide is to ignore IGF 1, inflammatory endotoxins, inflammatory sat/trans fats, mammalian hormones such as estrogen, and cholesterol which is increased by eating dietary cholesterol and sat/trans fat which hormonal cancers can use as fuel. I'm sorry dude but your hypothesis couldn't possibly be true.
I have a rare autoimmune disease which requires I take 2000mg of elemental calcium every day (Pseudohypoparathyroidism). From my research, it doesn't seem possible for me to get that calcium from ingestion. What are my options if I want to avoid so-called "adverse cardiovascular effects" from calcium supplementation?
If calcium pills increase cardiovascular disease risk, why would the same calcium supplement added to soy or almond milk be expected to have any different effect?
Después del doctor Bayter salieron muchos médicos y nutricionista a opinar lo contrario hay que ser honesto fiel y sincero ayudar a las personas si tienen un poquito de espiritualidad
When the studies were done on those people consuming calcium did they do a complete bio on the people who were in the study? Did any of the people have chronic stress in their life, or smoke or drink or were very unhappy in their lives in general? There is so much more that goes into whether we get a disease or not besides just looking at the food we eat.
@@profd65 You can't go by what you believe or don't believe when you are doing studies like this. You have to go by facts as much as possible. A person's lifestyle if they are honest about it can be considered factual but a person's emotional state cannot because it is such a personal thing.
@@tamcon72 It is virtually impossible to control all factors relating to a person's health because there are so many different things that play into it besides what people consume.

I could never stand milk, (or other animal products in retrospect) even as a little kid growing up in the 50's when milk was god and your parents made sure you got plenty! It literally gagged me and was akin to trying to swallow a glass of mucus... which is pretty much what it actually is. Hurling at the dinner table wasn't appreciated either tho, and neither was asking why we killed and ate some animals, and kept others as beloved members of the family... but it WAS a great way to get sent to your room and avoid the stuff!
I wasn't allowed to leave the table until I'd finished mine. It was not unusual for me to vomit through my childhood, hide under the table when my mother served fatty chops and cutlets - worst. cook. ever. - we had a school milk program where milk was delivered to schools everyday and often left in the baking Australian sun to curdle by mid morning. Hiding in corners of the playground was a necessity because teachers forced us to drink that stuff. Nightmarish memories. My parents gave up when I was eight and let me prepare my own food. It was salad!
@@tosca... I guess our bodies were smarter than the humans who came up with the "rules" our parents felt obligated to enforce! I used to give my school milk to my seatmate until our teacher caught me, guilted me out over the 10 cents a week my parents spent on it for my own good, and forced me to drink it. No sooner did I choke it down than it came back up, and my poor seatmate got my milk anyway, in a way nobody appreciated! Ewww. At least the teacher never made me drink it again!
Common sense should tell us that no adult animal should breastfeed from another species. It was just a survival strategy adopted by people way back when "more calories" was the only health goal. Nutritional science unsurprisingly proves that right. How sick and horror-movie-like is it for one super-intelligent species to masturbate and impregnate some other species in mass factories, to drink and eat breastmilk. If we weren't so used to it, and were introduced to the practice, it would be received as an alien horror show. In other words - the only thing keeping the dairy industry alive is cultural conditions, concealment of practices and an ignorant population.
Zoroislost I guess the exception would be bodybuilding enthusiasts, factoring in mTor considerations. While I’m at it, kale is a relatively low oxalate food, compared to spinach. Thoroughly steaming spinach removes a large proportion of oxalates
Not really as the body would motabolise foods like cheese very differently if on a keto diet. Unlike those mentioned in this video who would more often than not, have been eating a considerable about of carbs too.
I agree. That being said i would still avoid skim milk low fat milk which has high amout of sugar that raise glycemy and in the end turn the body into starch/sugar addiction. Grass fed butter, blue cheese, goat cheese and sour creem seems like a safer dairy intake.
@ApoE-ε2/ε3 fortified foods= lower dose, taken with cofactors (whatever food its in). I suppose you could mimic the same process, by simply dissolving your calcium pill or grinding it yo a powder, adding a small amount with a meal or to plant milk you've made, and get the same benefits without the risk. But as far as I know, there haven't been any studies to support on this specifically. There is evidence, though, that we don't need as much calcium as the current recommended RDA. 🌱
Because they are very small in number , so their data isn't significant... moreover they are tribals , the suspection or diagnosis of cancer in them doesn't happen...they don't even have a doctor which can diagnose cancer in them ...
One question, do these negative effects of consuming dairy target strictly men, because its related strictly to the prostate or is there an equivalent with the female population as well?
That's a pretty good question. From what he's said in other videos, foods that affect prostate cancer risk tend to have similar effects on breast or cervical cancer. I highly recommend you watch his videos on soy and flaxseed! They tend to have protective effects for these cancers, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to switch out dairy milk for soy milk.
Could it be that those countries with more cancer heard the gospel of Jesus Christ and mostly rejected it? “But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.” -- Luke 14:48
Impossible to do a causation study on cancer. You can't double blind placebo control a group for 15 years and see if they get cancer. Causation studies are always short, measured in months. Cohort studies can be measured in years. There's not a single smoking study that shows causation either but with enough cohort studies you can show there is a link especially if the studies control for various other factors. Every single link to cancer we have is from cohort or population studies, same with most other lifestyle diseases. All double blind placebo controlled studies can show are biomarkers. They can show if cortisol goes up, if cholesterol goes up, or blood pressure but they cannot show final disease outcomes. You have to realize the limitations of the study type for what you are studying.
@@brianmerkosky9243 except they did it for lung cancer and tobacco, for example. The study in this video is absolutely useless. It doesn't take into account any factor other than dairy consumption (fiber intake, bmi, saturated fats, overall calories, and so on). If epidemiologic studies are so limited, and I don't think any serious scientist would argue that point, then you can't decide to draw your own conclusions based on them! There is NO ARGUMENT that a whole foods plant based diet is better than a Mediterranean diet (which has dairy in it) or a vegetarian diet, or a general omnivore diet, as long as you eat enough fruits and veggies and meet your caloric requirements without exceeding them. I'm a vegan, but we should really stop overselling the supposed benefits of plant based diets
@@brianmerkosky9243 I'm glad you like associational studies. They certainly have their place...as you point out. It's worth noting that every meta-analysis (that I've seen) shows positive (protective) associations between dairy and: - CVD risk - All-cancer risk - All-cause mortality (some show neutral, some show slightly protective) - Obesity - Metabolic syndrome - Type II diabetes - Stroke I guess that we can say that 'on balance' dairy is good for us based on the cohort studies?
They didn't do it for tobacco and lung cancer. It happened with association studies (that you will still belive in because you have no bias towards smoking). If you want to claim otherwise link that study.
@@aeroplaneguy3367 and thats where we need to talk about the strength of association. The smoking association is far too strong to be ignored. The relative risk can exceed 20.0. Most are 4.0 or higher. Thats 40x - 200x stronger than the association in this video To put this into perspective, this (milk v prostate) association is lower than the association between "being religious" and "lower heart disease". Its far lower than "internet use" and "breast cancer" association and also lower than "not shaving everyday" v "cardiovascular disease risk". Do we treat "not shaving everyday" and "smoking everyday" the same because of their risk to heart disease? No, thats absurd. We look at the strength of the association and what other evidence we have. The studies mentioned in this video dont meet the recognised Bradford Hill criteria for Association/causation. The association is too weak. You cant treat every association equally. The smoking/cancer data actually shows that.
Help. How best can someone over 55y eat to heal a fractured bone well? If WFPB is not able to provide a particular person w RDA% calcium, due to personal adaptation. What is the best way to get bone building calcium? Dairy foods? Supplement? Real question
"If WFPB is not able to provide a particular person w RDA% calcium, due to personal adaptation." What does this sentence mean? I understand what "WFPB" means, but what does "personal adaptation" mean? You can get calcium from kale, almonds, and lots of other plants; you can get a ton of calcium from tofu. What's the problem?
Persons over 50 have higher calcium needs as do those healing bone fractures. Food intake is not adequate in this case. What is the best addition , dairy or supplements? What is so hard to understand?
@@JohnnyCatFitz Just eat more of calcium-rich plant foods? We really don't understand your binary choice suggestion when this third choice is more logical.
@@JohnnyCatFitz What was so hard to understand? Your language, since you ask. If food intake isn't adequate, then eat different (nondairy) food, or eat more of certain foods. And you do know that calcium isn't the only mineral important to bone health? Magnesium is critical. I'm not an M.D. or a nutritionist, but I can't recommend calcium supplements because they might be bad for the heart.
Hot For Food has a fantastic nacho 'cheese' recipe from potato and carrot. There are many, many cashew mozzarella 'cheese' recipes out there. You can transition them away with plant cheeses...then slowly fade those away to treats once the chemical addiction is broken. Good luck!
Are there any studies done on store bought soy milk? Because that is simply a supplement added to water, and calcium supplements have been shown to increase the risk of hip replacements being needed etc
And yet in other videos, Drs are showing that certain things in certain cheese, have the ability to kill cancer cells; Yes I love dairy but I think there needs to be more information about all this. Anyway, I eat those cheeses that are supposed to help, I am a recovering cancer patient and did know that dairy was a problem. So now what; I also take sweet woodworm and black walnut husk extract, as well as I am trying to lower my glucose levels; cancer eats glucose and glutamine.

Sorry but some people are being duped here. Sardinian people eat a diet high in raw goats and sheep cheese and are some of the longest lived people on earth. France is high in cheese consumption and low in prostate cancer. The Mediterranean diet has a fair amount of dairy in it and is considered very healthy. You guys can't see the vegan bias being pushed here?

Ashley Scott Yeah, I read the blue zones too. Great study. 100% of that goat/sheep milk+cheese is grass-fed (much higher in Vitamin K2 and omega-3). Secondly, it’s it’s not from cows (who have much higher growth factors dangerous to humans over long term. Goats are a smaller, if you hadn’t noticed😉). Sardinians eat a great deal of fruit and vegetables, including greens, as mentioned in the vid. Not to mention, they are a physically active culture that get plenty of sunshine. That said, it would be great in N America if we largely got off the cow products, only grass fed the stuff we produce, quintupled our dark greens intake, and reduced our overall caloric density, as the Sardinians have figured out (minus the cow products). Great, irrefutable truth based info here.

I've noticed that older people tend to drink less and less milk. I thought it might be lactose intolerence, but when I got older, it was just because I didn't care to drink it. I also noticed my desire for it changed when I started eating a lot more beans. I don't think our bodies really care about the source. If we get calcium from plants, we don't feel hungry for milk. I still like some lean meat for supper, but milk just doesn't seem appetizing anymore. I remember buying a gallon of milk a week just for myself.
@@tolrem It depends if they are getting enough calcium in their diet from other food sources. I happen to like beans and broccoli, which both have quite a bit of calcium. There are also many reasons why they are having trouble with their teeth. Too often, it's from gums that get infected and turn to gingivitis. I brush with oil of oregano which kills those germs and have no problems. Even if you are getting enough calcium in your diet, you need vitamin k2 to move it to the teeth and bones. Vitamin k is found in broccoli and our bodies convert it to k2, or it's also found in meat. I haven't drank milk for quite a few years now, and have no problems with my teeth. The other big problem is sugar in the diet. I don't mean carbs, just added sugar. Sugar just destroys teeth.
Interesting. The body goes for any food that has the thing in it that it wants maybe.Apparently there was a boy who had an unnatural craving for salt and also some obscure disease. In hospital he would sneak out to the cafeteria and start eating the salt in the shakers...so the doctors restrained him in his bed. What happened?..he died.It turned out that he could sort of survive the disease which he had as long as he took in a lot of salt. His body obviously knew this even though he only felt the need for salt for some unaccountable reason.
@@tolrem Yeah, I believe that. If you get a craving for some food, you should eat it. I find it interesting that a lot of the foods that get brought up on this channel that are very healthy, are foods I've always liked.
Fascinating! How is dairy not listed as a human carcinogen by the World Health Organization the way processed meat is? It seems like only a matter of time... hopefully not very much time.
How come horn of Africa nations that consume a lot of milk have lowest cancer rates? To be fair they consume camel milk most which is lower in saturated fat and rich in nutrients

Never liked the taste of milk unfortunately I love the taste of all other dairies. Very hard to say no to cheese and ice cream but I’m able to say no most of the time. Greek yogurt always gets me thought :/
Sidilicious is there a big difference in taste between vegan and dairy cheese?
K McClendon the difference is getting less as vegan cheeses get better. I only have a small amount of choices where I live. I am very happy with Daiya Smoked Gouda, their jalapeño jack is good too, to me both are amazingly dairy cheese like.
K McClendon Yes there is, esp if u r used to eating the bad one. But, over time, once u wein urself off it, get over the literal withdrawal symptoms (of being hooked on casomorphin) then u will find the alternatives an ok substitute. U can still have cheese n wine, but with vegan cheese.👍✌️

Dr.Gregor's Video=Standard by which excellence is measured
Thank you for the excellent video. I am a plant based vegan. My family and friends are farmers and raise chickens, turkeys, pigs and cattle. My dietary choices has put me at ends with most all of them. They tolerate me, but you would think I was advocating devil worship. Most restaurants are a challenge too. Eating out and eating healthy requires a concerted effort. Besides providing a wealth of information these videos provide encouragement when it seems like most everything is working against the simple goal of eating healthy. Again, thank you Dr, Greger and your staff too.
Curtis Henschen Well said!!!👏👏👏👏
Hang in there, and don't lose hope!
It's never easy to be the one standing up for what you believe when the majority is against you. Imagine, in the past, standing up for emancipation or a woman's right to vote. We can't expect this to be easy, either, it's just something that has to be done to enact change! Keep it up!
I feel you, but you can make it and so can I. Stay strong! :)
@Elijah Johnson Ahh okay thanks for that, makes sense
Jack Higgs Appalling!
India has low prostrate cancer but high dairy intake. How so?
Interesting that he doesn't bother to discuss that. High dairy intake may just be a marker for poor quality diets.
@@yetanotheryoutuber4271
There's no contradiction. The Western countries have the best and most available health care.
I lived in India, they do indeed consume a lot of dairy. Food is often cooked in ghee, and yogurt and milk products are eaten and drunk regularly. They eat a lot of fresh cheese (paneer) too. And yes, perhaps it is the tumeric?

Title says "Dairy and Cancer".
Says we need to look at meta-analyses.
Greger then goes on to talk about a demonstrated dairy and *prostate* cancer.
Then goes on to talk about how dairy grows cancer.
Problem is that every meta-analysis shows that there is no association between dairy and all-cause mortality, or dairy and increased all cancer mortality. That's a problem for your hypothesis.
By flashing up a few sentences, you can create unnecessary fear of dairy, which is what you've done nutritionsnippetstakenoutofcontext.com
How else are we going to save the poor baby cows if people only care about their own health but are indifferent to the vegan beliefs?
Absolute nonsense.
There is plenty of evidence that dairy is unhealthy, just because you choose to ignore it or you dont approve or this video doesnt make that research disappear.
@@ApexRevolution Hi Keith, that's not true mate. Every meta-analysis we have shows positive (protective) associations between dairy and:
- CVD risk
- All-cancer risk
- All-cause mortality (some show neutral, some show slightly protective)

- Type II diabetes
- Stroke
If you have a meta-analysis that shows the opposite, I'd be grateful if you could share it. Of course, you might be talking about some other kind of evidence, like TH-cam videos or web articles, but it would be great if we could stick to outcome measured science.

The world map of prostate cancer is such an impactful image.
I was accidentally given dairy coffee at a cafe and I almost puked after taking a sip of my latte with cow's milk. It really tasted like someone's breast milk and I only stopped drinking milk 3 years ago!!
"someone's"? You mean some cow's milk? Are you wanting us to seriously believe it literally tasted like human breast milk. What a weird thing to say
In an interview done many years ago during his Mr. Universe days, Arnold Schwarzenegger was asked if he drank milk. In response he said, "No. Milk is for babies. I like beer."
I read that in his voice ; )
Whatever he had don't forget he's survived a couple of serious heart surgeries ;)
Incorrect. He has a video on how fat feeds cancer....l
I have a rare autoimmune disease which requires I take 2000mg of elemental calcium every day (Pseudohypoparathyroidism).
Milk is poison and it should be illegal. Soy milk is nutritionally complete and should be mandatory for all children.

Good point
ApoE-ε2/ε3 He already did in his videos on supplements and soy.

One question, do these negative effects of consuming dairy target strictly men, because its related strictly to the prostate or is there an equivalent with the female population as well?

Repeat after me: correlation does not imply causation

@@aeroplaneguy3367 and thats where we need to talk about the strength of association. The smoking association is far too strong to be ignored. The relative risk can exceed 20.0. Most are 4.0 or higher. Thats 40x - 200x stronger than the association in this video
To put this into perspective, this (milk v prostate) association is lower than the association between "being religious" and "lower heart disease".

I've gotten better and better at actually following along with and overstanding everything Dr. Greger says. He is healing so many people......talk about good karma 💚
Where do you all get your vitamin b12 then?
O sea los que consumen leche sufren de cáncer, entonces que vamos hacer con las vacas, no todo lo que dicen hay que poner cuidado.
Buenísima, tirada dor Ermes gracias. Se agradece
Excelente información.
No surprise here... :) I say with a smug grin on my face.
Different types of dairy, animals, organic vs non?
I've noticed that older people tend to drink less and less milk. I thought it might be lactose intolerence, but when I got older, it was just because I didn't care to drink it. I also noticed my desire for it changed when I started eating a lot more beans. I don't think our bodies really care about the source. If we get calcium from plants, we don't feel hungry for milk. I still like some lean meat for supper, but milk just doesn't seem appetizing anymore. I remember buying a gallon of milk a week just for myself.
My sister and another older lady have stopped drinking milk and they both have huge problems with their teeth now.Coincidence?
Why low oxalate? Because the oxalates bind to the calcium?
Raf Naegels Yes.
Mike, simply put, because this video is misleading. There is a slightly protective association between dairy and all-cause cancer death. That makes it difficult to label it as a carcinogen, no?
You've got completely the wrong impression off this video. Thats not your fault though, thats how the video has been designed.
Good job 👍 just the science 🙏🏻
a la industria alimentaria no le gusta esto
Then how do you explain milk drinking nations in east Africa that have the lowest rate of prostate cancer?
Whole unadulterated milk with the natural fat?
I think they eat heaps of soy which is nutritionally complete and the cure for most human illnesses.
Well, milk increases the risk of prostate cancer, but what happens in women? Does milk increase the risk of some type of cancer in women?
Personally I feel better without dairy, although yougurt seems to agree with me, maybe it's according to your blood type
These same mechanisms cause breast cancer also.
Steph, if this is true why no association between dairy and all-cause mortality, or dairy and all-cause cancer death?
The most recent meta-analysis shows dairy is associated with reduced breast canver incidence.
What about fermented milk? Kefir. Soy is a bit weird for your health, but fermented soy; misso and natto are good for you, right?
