Richard Harrington Did you remove it? I can tell you that the center console and every panel must come off before removing the main dash. I got a little bolt in my vent when I accidentally pushed it into the vent by the windshield
I have a 2000 Corolla but the gauge cluster won't come out, I have all screws out but it's like the wiring doesn't have enough slack, and I can't turn it sideways like you did. Any ideas how I could overcome this problem?
Hey Peter, I'm an avid watcher of all your videos. Since you're a Toyota expert, I have a question for you. my wife's car is a 2005 corolla, with 206,000 km on it. North American model (Canada). recently when the car is driven, the whole dashboard rattles and buzzes like you feel a headache after 10 mins of driving! any suggestions, other than removing all coins and emptying out the glove compartment, as we did that already and didn't work! thanks in advance.
Nope, didn't try yet. I researched that taking the dashboard out is a 4 hr job ,then I would fiddle with it for no less than 2 hrs to tighten all screws and bolts, and putting it back in is another 4 hr job. in total I figured it would be a 10 hr job! the heart is willing but the flesh is too weak!
Hi peter. Can I ask, my corolla doesnt have a tachometer, i want to buy a instrument panel from another corolla that has a tachometer. How will i be able to fo that? Thanks
no it is not possible because the connectors though look the same are electrically different also you cars ECU doesn't have the wire needed to provide the tach with the signal it needs
i remove my cluster, then when i put it back on transmission would not shift i had to star the car then connect the cluster then transmission shift fine ?
Just in case this happens to someone else. My speedometer was stuck at zero. I realized that when I started the engine, the gauge move from below 0 to 0, but never further than that. Believe it or not, when I disassembled and removed the clear plastic cover, I discovered that the gauge needle was blocked by the pin that avoids it to go below zero: somewhat it was on the other side of the pin. I forced it to the right place, and speedo working again. So this could also happen with the tachometer.
I have a question, my speed can slowly goes up or down if i hit the gas pedal or break but it will never show the right speed and the trip mileage makes all the numbers change at the same time is there any way to fix that or I need to change the whole dashboard, please let me know thank you!!
@@PeterFinnTheCarDoctor it passed :D had a sticking tire, brake pad was jamming so filed it down to fit better and she flew by :) your channel has saved my ass a good few times!

Hi, what car you have?

Ok, interesting error. Do you have this error now?
had to use sand paper on the vss and cluster connectors
like a miracle no more shifting issues

Hello, I need to do new video.
Im having the same problem for my 2005 corolla and this video doesnt do it
not impressed, you said "replace dashboard" that is not the dashboard friend , that is the dashboard DISPLAY unit !!!
Good point 👍
The title should be "How to remove Instrument Cluster or Panel Gauge" not Dashboard. Dashboard is on the top of Instrument Cluster.
Thanks 👍
Hi
👍 HI
That's not a dashboard... That's an instrument cluster
Thanks. 👍😃
in here!!
Hi, Thanks for comment. :-)
Instrument cluster not dashboard, change the title.
Ok and Thanks. :-)
