I tried my first Pokémon Nuzlocke. It almost broke me.

- After watching countless Nuzlocke runs and dabbling in casual ones myself, I finally decided to try a proper Pokémon Nuzlocke of Pokemon Fire Red... But nothing could prepare me for how stressful this can be. It almost broke me!
The rules are nuzlocke ones which means:
1) Once a Pokémon faints it is considered gone and cannot
be used anymore.
2) You can only catch your first encounter in every area.
3) You must nickname every Pokémon.
4) Once you white out the run is over.
Also added are the typical hard-rules:
5) You cannot use items in battle. Held items are allowed.
6) You have to change the Battle-Style to "Set".
7) You cannot level past the next Gym Leaders strongest Pokémon.
8) No Legendaries, they're too strong.

that alakazam at the end would go down in one shot if you used earthquake or even wing attack. dragon is treated as a special attacking type in gen 3, which is the one defense alakazam has. i know, it's weird considering dragon dance boosted physical attack even back then.
Yeah I remembered that when I looked at the footage... Pre-Physical special split types never made sense to me 😅

I remember my first nuzlocke. Mine was also fire red! My final team was Blastoise, Nidoking, Arcanine, Jolteon, Haunter and Clefable! I had like 12 deaths. My surviving members were Blastoise, Jolteon, and Arcanine. Lance's Aerodactyl got 2 omni boosts with ancient power. Started cooking.
Oof those Omniboosts are ROUGH huh? I always just hope they don't happen lol, I need to play around statboosts some more.
Sounds like a dope team, Jolteon's one I definetly missed out on entirely, it's SO good
@@MalorakPKMN I had a raichu but it got killed early on in rock tunnel. i needed to swap and heal it died to i think a lass' meowth and fury swipes lmao
but yeah the boosts were so scary it nearly one shot nidoking and hyper beamed my clefable. i sent haunter out to try and curse it

Yes for sure! I'm still not a great player, so I'll work my way up, but the next run will most likely be an Infinite Fusion Run, which is a fangame not a ROMhack but close enough I suppose :D

You played by using rare candies?
Yep - That was puretly to cut out time grinding, as in a Hardcore Nuzlocke the alternative would be to go to Route 1 and grind Pidgeys and rattatas for hours. Doesn't really give me either interesting content to show or fun content to play, so I just skip it via rare candies.
The Levelcap prevents me from having my Pokémon be super OP and a trade off is that my Pokémon have AWFUL EVs since I barely fight wild mons

No problem! I'll answer in German then, as I am German myself.
Ich benutze den VBA-RR, weil Pokelink damit kompatibel ist. Die genaue Version ist VBA v23.6 svn480-LRC3. Ich würde aber dazu raten, den mGBA Emulator zu verwenden, der funktioniert erfahrungsgemäß deutlich besser und hat 0 Sicherheitslücken, VBA ist sehr alt und ist eher anfällig für unangenehme Probleme.

@@Leon09189 Merkwürdig...Weder mit Savestates noch ingame selbst? Sonst schau mal nach den Berechtigungen, Rechtsklick sowohl auf die ROM als auch den Emulator und schau ob du als Benutzer in die Datei bzw. den Emulator schreiben darfst. Einfachster fix ist das ganze als admin auszuführen, alternativ Schreibrechte als Nutzer setzen, vllt. ist es das. Wäre das einzige was mir einfällt, nutze Emulatoren auch nur als Konsument, sorry :x
