@@SonnyFRST Let's be real tho it's great it's not DMC2 Dante in personality, that'd be boring af. DMC 2 Dante has an amazing design that alone is enough. Glad they brought Reuben Langdon to voice him here and from what I've heard they slightly altered the dialogue to fit his Dante interpretations more.

@@NoName-hj6cs it's barely canon at all which is interesting, nothing from DMC2 EVER mattered or really comes up again. Hell even the recap in DMC5 only had like one sentence worth for it lol. they should just use the design in something else DMC and ditch the game itself

The enemies and bosses of Nocturne should be grateful that Dante doesn't even use Devil Trigger in the game. Otherwise, parts of the game, if not all of it would be much shorter.
Devil Trigger
-can only be used if Dante has 30% or more MP
-drains 5% of Dante's MP at the end of each round
-if Dante runs out of MP, the transformation is undone
+Dante's stats all get a +5 bonus
+Dante recovers 30% of his HP at the start of each round
+Grants Pierce, a 100% Damage boost and a 30% Critical hit rate boost
+Dante's attacks never miss
+apply +4 of all -Kaja effects uppon use for Dante
+Dante takes 50% less damage from all attacks while transformed
It's basically an RPG version of how DT works in the DMC games. It's stupid OP but it is very MP hungry
Keep in mind, this Dante has Devil Devil Trigger, which is much stronger than normal Devil Trigger.

I still really appreciate that they added the style meter into one of his moves. It’s such a fun detail.
It's funny how the background is very similar to the annoying plateforming section of the Temen-ni-gru in DMC3.
Before, he was just cool but now he’s cool AND useful.
Son's Oath giving him Pierce lets you turn Noah from easy but tedious to just easy.
They gave him Pierce in remaster? Nice.
It's kinda weird that his sword moves have electric effects to them. Like, he did have an electric sword called Alastor, but hes using rebellion, which has nothing like that.
Actually it does make sense (more or less). In DMC2 you have the devil hearts, which allowed Dante to give elemental attributes to his sword, and the one he had at the start of 2 was the elctric one (even though the effects only reflected during DT).
Anyway I agree with you because in Nocturne it looks like Rebellion pretends to be Alastor, something that pisses me of due the fact that I always found Alastor way cooler and if they wanted to give the sword the electric effect they could have used the fucking electric sword to begin with...

@@mbrillon765 The deal was actually around DMC3, which came out a year later. It was basically that Capcom would let ATLUS put Dante into Nocturne if Kaneko designed Dante and Vergil's Devil Trigger forms for DMC3, which is why they look like they were pulled straight out of Digital Devil Saga. If I were Capcom, I'd get Dante's DMC3 design done and then have them put that design in Nocturne.

@@deathbykonami5487 Devil trigger is the transformation they used. Nero has the normal DT while Dante and Vergil now has Sin DT. The song title is based of that.
A big missed opportunity is his showtime should display Smokin Sexy Style

Son oath+Pierced literally make him usefull in this game.
I think he was good in PS2, but compared to Raidou? Not even close. His ability makes him as powerful as Surtur with Fire Boost (only applied in Phys and Fire attacks). The Pierce Skills makes him one of the best demons to gain in the game. The ones that can learn pierce are DemiFiend and Grimekala.

@@sulthanarya3281 I was saying about back then. In PS2. Since Dante was a strong Demon but lacks of "Pierce", people lose faith around him when Raidou showed up with a Pierce ability attached to him. Making him better than Dante.

I like how this Dante uses 2's design and some of those moves, but feels way closer to the other games.
Because letting aside his outfit he's purely based on DMC1 Dante. Atlus caught the essence of the characer perfectly instead of the shameful thing Capcom did with DMC2. What is more, they put so much attention to the detail that some of his passive skills are direct references to DMC1 (this can be seen better in the japanese version).
For me Nocturne Dante is the true DMC2 Dante even though until today I've found absurd that they choosed his DMC2 outfit insted of the 1 one.
@@virhilios3789 that one was probably due to Capcom’s insistence. But, if the whole shebang was a two-way deal (Capcom let Atlus use Dante because, iirc, Atlus let Capcom use one of their full time artists to design the Devil Triggers for DMC3), they could’ve used DMC3 Dante for some promotion for the upcoming game (kinda like how Roy was in Smash Bros Melee before his game even came out).
Raidou just feels like he has much higher quality animations. I love Dante being in the game but couldnt they at least have added a voice line for his provoke? Raidous summons for his skills also make his moves look alot more powerful then Dante's
Well that's because Raidou is an SMT character and Dante is only a cameo.
Actually.....Dante plays the same way here like he did in dmc2 but we don't talk about that game, I still prefer Dante 2 voice over Reuben langdon

I just really really love this Dante design, he is so goddamn cool.
I wish he had a "Devil Trigger" buff skill. It would probably be all basic buffs at once but only on Dante. Instead of an extremely high MP cost, it would probably be a minimal starting cost and a slight cost over time.
Finally, luster candy in this game
How about a stronger Showtime skill where he goes hits a SSS combo, which would pretty much look like an Omnislash Lvl 5.

For me, it's not so much his difficulty, it's the fact that he always has a DT and he only doesn't in SMT.
While on the topic, I think that a combo meter would have been cool. Like as a boss mechanic. If he deals damage, then after certain thresholds, the skill Showtime gets better.
At B, it's identical to Meggido, A, it's identical to Meggidola, S, Megidolion, SS, S+50% atk boost, SSS, S+100% atk boost.

Although I do find it nauseating that Debilitate is in the game but not Luster Candy.
Odd fact about Luster Candy: It's Japanese name is something like "TuRaSu Candy".

Dante in the OG Nocturne was great but here in the remaster with the Pierce skill added he's an absolute monster and one of the strongest demons in the entire game, such a good change for him along with bringing back his VA from DMC3 onwards! *SMOKING SEXY STYLE*

@@luismachado1934 I do. Holy Star's animation actually works properly on the PS2 (Dante holsters one of his guns, then raise his hand in the air). Here he just raises his hand while the gun is still there.

Thing is he was added to nocturne in a later version of game. They probably had more time to tune his aninations and demons. The fact we have both now is crazy. Can you imagine a game where we have the legendary devil summoner raidou and the legendary devil hunter dante team up?

No, it wouldn't. The novels made it clear that Dante needed Devil Trigger to beat Beelzebub. SDT wouldn't even make him Metatron level.

In nocturne you can't fuse dante or buy in compedium
It would make more sense if you could get him as a secret unlockable party member.

In the original he didn't have suns oath ie pierce and since he's so late game and can't be fused away the end game bosses made him an active hindrance now he's like Raidou busted af and definitely worth bringing to the party
@@joshuamedina6807 I won't lie. Back on the PS2 when I played this the first time, I kept Dante as part of my team until the very end anyway despite the lack of Pierce, but yeah, he wasn't the best party member to have. It mostly worked out due to Showtime being an Almighty Skill that hits all enemies, and Holy Star getting rid of debuffs, but Metatron and Beelzibub had to pick up the slack in buffing and dealing out damage.
I will be fair, I wasn't going for the "True Demon" route anyway, so mileage may vary.
Hes so much better than raidou. Worth the $10 upgrade.

For most of the video it's the normal battle theme, for the part where they recruit Jack Frost it's the Town battle theme

The hardest part is to keep only 8. Ok, the 1st one E & I is pretty useless, but the rest are all pretty good.
