Uhh no to Naoki it was a test to see if he's able to kill YHVH or not. Lucifer (the true lucifer) as shown in smt 2 is the dark counter part of YHVH. He's slightly weaker than him. If demi fiend can best lucifer no problem. He can best YHVH no problem. And as for Dante. Even dmc5 smt version of events would destroy him.

I'm also at 115 hours? It's honestly a blast, just exploring, doing quests and getting to know the areas, I love the direction they're going with the wide scale exploration. The essence system also has vast diversity, for both demons and Nahobino, it really lets you sit to craft your own builds and everything. The cutscenes are amazing, music is absolutely beautiful, and it's just wide spread. I'm definitely going back to do every route this time around, SMT V is just what I needed, and was worth the wait, to me, my goty

the thing that really makes this fight tough that no guide seems to mention is that Root of Evil has a Dekaja effect to it. if he Dekundas into Root of Evil then High King the next turn, you're basically 100% screwed.
Really late i know, but its not the worst part, root of evil can leave you at 10% of health and just a double attack on demi its a game over, this fight itsjust rng, they should make root of evil a last turn move otherwise its just bs. Btw, he is playing the maniax versión so root of evil don't have the dejaka effect
Lucifer in Nocturne was just straight up The Dark Side of God and the Shadow of Creation. Bar SMT V's Lucifer, Nocturne Lucifer held far more metaphysical weight compared to his other SMT versions.

And according to IV, he'd rather destroy humanity than the entirety of the world. And that's proven further in SMTII when it's a plot point that he can't wipe out all life on earth. Instead, he charges up a massive space laser to wipe out the life on earth, not even earth itself. Kagutsuchi by himself has done all that and more with sheer power. And Lucifer here is far stronger than Kagutsuchi.

I mean the only benefits you’re getting by purchasing the Maniax DLC is getting a reskin of Raidou and an easier hard mode Lucifer fight. In Chronicles hard mode Lucifer has Diarahan and Root of Evil has a Dekaja effect. In Maniax hard mode he has none of that.

Exactly my thoughts, the presence of Lucifer, the deserted Tokyo, the announcement trailer having a nod to the title screen of Nocturne and the sudden need of a Remaster all seemed very intentional to me. Let's see if this is pure coincidence or will go somewhere
This was what made me want to try it for myself. Finally did it today, what a way to end 2022! I used Dante too, but gave myself more breathing room by levelling up to the 90s, and bringing Vishnu and Metatron. Yours is more impressive because it shows a Demi-Fiend in the late 60s can pull it off with the right setup. And yours reminds me, I haven't evolved my Suparna yet!
I agree on that front because Pierce isn't used for magic spells. On the flip side, it's cool to see Dante actually fight in the battle instead of being a placeholder just to pass turns.
I didn’t bother with grinding out Freikugel and just stuck with Spiral Viper and Pierce. Didn’t even have Focus on MC, but did have it, Pierce, and Dark Sword on Ongyo-Ki. FUN FACT: although Dark Sword never hits usually in regular combat, IT NEVER MISSES IN THIS FIGHT!!
This makes me wana load up my main file and have a go. Iv engineered move wise and made my main guy over powered with loads of incense but iv never done this battle.
So i went and did just that. Now i am way too strongk and i have a party with a move list making me invincible lvl 81 and rising, just about to take on the trumpeter and abused everything from mitama to correct demon stat deficiencies and cancelling weaknesses with null skills particularly gogmagog but now he is albion he is my roronoa zoro. I need levels so it learns hades blast and player demon is going to learn it about the same time and i have all the buffz debuffz and anti buff anti debuff and full revive skills on 2 demons, one has mediarama and the other prayer and mediarahan, all have high lvl magic attack all spell besides albion but physical does nothing and he will learn soon phys drain so he heals from being attacked and that takes all moves from enemy not just 2. And my player demon has all stats close to Max early thanks to white box gift and grinding for weeks in low level areas which also gift high munni proportionally speaking. Lots of reloads to get exactly what i wanted from white boxes and don't get me started on what it took to bring over the best skills of all demons fused since i was level 10. It can take several hours for one fusion.
@@Darth_Bateman i had pierce on 2 of my demons thanks to girimehkala fusing lol, the diarahan literally just dragged the fight out and didn't introduce any new interesting mechanics
I had a strength build with pierce, avenge, and focus in my skills. I was doing most of the damage since I didn’t have any other party members with pierce, with the battle culminating in Lucifer smacking me and I beat him with a counter attack
He has Son Oath's which gave you 50% boost of Physical damage + pierce which dealin higher damage. He ain't useless without focus but he just strong as he is.
Hey, since you have Pierce, Focus and Magma Axis in the same build here, can you PLEASE tell me if those skills apply to Magma Axis? I already googled a lot and have found very mixed responses and I don't want to accidentally screw up my build. Thank you ^-^ (If anybody else knows, feel free to tell me too!)
pretty sure that pierce does, as it's phys-fire, like surt's regular attack, and from my last play through i can say definitively that focus does not work. I applied focus, used magma axis, and was unable to reapply it because it wasn't used up yet

Also, surts normal attack can be focused if I remember correctly, and it would be a bit weird if phys-fire damage wouldn't work the same for everyone. But thank you already, now I already know that it doesn't work with focus! Pierce I could try out myself on my save file, I just already threw away focus-

Guys i'm playing the HD chronicle version on hard and Lucifer keeps spamming dekunda/dekaja on repeat, leaving me unable to counter his strongest attacks properly. What should i do? Maybe limit the buffs/debuffs to the bare minimum might help avoid him casting those?
In the SMT series, "YHWH" is one of the avatar created by the "Great Will", which is the true equivalent to God. Except that in this incarnation, the Avatar YHWH scheemed the fight between Law and Chaos, so that he would always remain in power. That's what i've read about. Can someone correct me if i'm wrong?
Bro how tf? I had maxed stats for all my demons, max stats for me, max health, and mp Each one had debilitate, tarukaja, and rakukaja, and had masakados equipped and I still got one tapped I had to have been like level 200 too
@@delgande Sun's Oath is one of Dantes final skills. They gave Dante pierce to keep him on par in endgame with Raidou because in Raidou's skills he had pierce back in original Nocturne
Well, it's kind of a shared quirk with Raidou. The balance of the game is based around the Chronicles re-release, and they added a Pierce passive to Raidou (who replaces Dante in said version). It stands to reason that they'd give Dante that same skill so as to not make one of them just outright better.
You know, I've never really noticed until now; is the lady behind him supposed to be what turns into Lucifer there? Or is the old man/child what turns into Lucifer? I know the old man/child have obvious visual references to Lucifer, but I'm still not sure what's really happening there. Or maybe Lucifer is neither of them but the old man/child just has the power to summon him?
@@danthovict381 the lucifer design with her and the old/young lucifer is supposed to be a reference to twin peaks. There are fan theories speculating who she is but i don’t think devs intended her to be anyone given there being no significant plot point or interview regarding her

I need levels so it learns hades blast and player demon is going to learn it about the same time and i have all the buffz debuffz and anti buff anti debuff and full revive skills on 2 demons, one has mediarama and the other prayer and mediarahan, all have high lvl magic attack all spell besides albion but physical does nothing and he will learn soon phys drain so he heals from being attacked and that takes all moves from enemy not just 2. And my player demon has all stats close to Max early thanks to white box gift and grinding for weeks in low level areas which also gift high munni proportionally speaking.
Lots of reloads to get exactly what i wanted from white boxes and don't get me started on what it took to bring over the best skills of all demons fused since i was level 10. It can take several hours for one fusion.
I'm still a little bummed that they removed his Diarahan. That's now a feature exclusive to the original Maniax Chronicle version.
Honnestly it was kind of pointless outside of making you waste time + it was random in Chronicles sometime he wasn't using it at all for some reasons.
i get it was supposed to make him imposing but good bosses know when they've taken enough of your time

@@ApexGale They probably had to do it because they wanted Lucifer to have more HP, but integer limit didn't allow for it
I had a strength build with pierce, avenge, and focus in my skills. I was doing most of the damage since I didn’t have any other party members with pierce, with the battle culminating in Lucifer smacking me and I beat him with a counter attack

Without Focus, Dante looks really useless.
Not really. He innately gets Pierce, and has a very high crit chance, allowing him to generate turns
He has Son Oath's which gave you 50% boost of Physical damage + pierce which dealin higher damage.
He ain't useless without focus but he just strong as he is.

pretty sure that pierce does, as it's phys-fire, like surt's regular attack, and from my last play through i can say definitively that focus does not work. I applied focus, used magma axis, and was unable to reapply it because it wasn't used up yet

Also, surts normal attack can be focused if I remember correctly, and it would be a bit weird if phys-fire damage wouldn't work the same for everyone. But thank you already, now I already know that it doesn't work with focus! Pierce I could try out myself on my save file, I just already threw away focus-

Guys i'm playing the HD chronicle version on hard and Lucifer keeps spamming dekunda/dekaja on repeat, leaving me unable to counter his strongest attacks properly. What should i do? Maybe limit the buffs/debuffs to the bare minimum might help avoid him casting those?

In the SMT series, "YHWH" is one of the avatar created by the "Great Will", which is the true equivalent to God. Except that in this incarnation, the Avatar YHWH scheemed the fight between Law and Chaos, so that he would always remain in power. That's what i've read about. Can someone correct me if i'm wrong?

They gave Dante pierce to keep him on par in endgame with Raidou because in Raidou's skills he had pierce back in original Nocturne

Well, it's kind of a shared quirk with Raidou. The balance of the game is based around the Chronicles re-release, and they added a Pierce passive to Raidou (who replaces Dante in said version). It stands to reason that they'd give Dante that same skill so as to not make one of them just outright better.

how did u get dante to pierce? i used focus+freikugel, dante using holy star+stinger, metatron using debiliate+tarukaja, and fairy healing

I think the old man and the blond child is the lucifer. I think they are supposed to be Louis Cyphre. In smt 2, he is the avatar of lucifer.

The old man/child turns into Lucifer, because Lucifer is them. As for the ladies in black, it's never really explained what she is.
