SMT:Vengeance Demi-Fiend Hard Mode in 2 Turns No Drain/Repel Phys Adversity or Demon Levels Required

I know Nuwa's base level is 80, not 82 but this can be done exactly the same without those 2 levels.
I felt bad for posting such a rubbish Demi-Fiend clear a few days ago, especially since it used a very boring strategy that was very similar to the quick Demi-Fiend fight in base V. My new strategy was inspired by my Satan clear and is something that could only be done in Vengeance: the innate skills of the 7 demons used are all essential to the clear and the move and charge status I use are new to Vengeance.
Let's go over the team composition:
Nahobino (219 Magic)
His role is to build Magatsuhi bar and delete Demi-Fiend's health bar.
Skills:
Heavenly Ikuyumi - Contender for the best skill in the game, very good damage and doesn't require special set up since you always want max debuffs anyway.
Evergreen Dance
Both almighty pleromas
Both glee skills to increase crit rate
Abyssal Mask to prevent poisoning from Girimakhela using toxic cloud.
The essence used here is pretty important. In the video I used Demi-Fiend's essence thinking it didn't matter, however I have found out that your essence does play a pretty large role. If you have no dark nulls on your team then Girimakhela will always use Mamudoon and if you have no force nulls then Pixie will always use Mazandyne, otherwise they will act randomly as described (note that Nuwa's resistances aren't taken into account by the enemy as she was switched in). This can be used to our advantage if we want a more reliable strategy than what I showed in the video. Ideally, Nahobino should be equipped with Vishnu's essence (to null phys and dark) and Nuwa should use a force dampener on her first turn. This takes care of any Pixie randomness and leaves Girimakhela and Cu to act as I describe later. Alternatively you can put Girimakhela's essence on MC (it's buyable from Gustave) and assign null dark to MC, Baal or Yoshi, this will make Girimakhela use his "random" AI. It's best that Baal does not have drain force. You ca see this improved strategy here:

Nahobeeho
His only purpose is his innate skill which decreases the cost of using Omnipotent Succession. The amount of bar saved by this skill can vary and sometimes it doesn't save enough to let the bar fill up on turn 2, If the red bar is around the M on Magatsuhi then you have enough.
Yoshitsune
He also only exists for his innate skill to give an extra turn but we also need to kit him out with some skills from essences to survive, these are: null phys, enduring soul and endure
Baal
Needed for access to the racial skill Charge as well as his innate to generate extra press turns when he's debuffed. He has null phys (necessary) as well as
life spring which I don't think is necessary.
Nuwa
The star of the clear in my view. The reason I use her is because of her innate skill which generates an extra press turn whenever she resists or nulls two or more attacks on the enemy turn (it has to be resist or null and not repel or drain to activate). She is quite capable of handling the Demi-Fiend's attacks with both endure skills and great life spring, she also needs resist phys for her innate to activate. Mastema would be more reliable than Nuwa here but he's NG+ exclusive.
Kresnik
His innate skill is debilitate x4 whenever an ally dies, it's very good.
Kudlak
His innate is luster candy x4 whenever he dies, it synergises very well with his archenemy's skill which is strange but I won't complain. He needs a physical skill to be able to deal enough damage to himself and safeguard so I don't lose ally turns when the attack gets reflected.
Sandalphon
His existence allows me to crit with Heavenly Ikuyumi. As strong as MC is, he needs to average 2500 damage per hit for this clear to work and he can't do that without crits.
A lot of demons have null phys, to get this skill fuse Ongyo-Ki into an element demon and give it null phys, register that element into the compendium and then use it as an ingredient.
There is an annoying amount of randomness in this fight. I've already mentioned how the amount of Magatsuhi preserved by Nahobeeho and the skilful conversion miracle is random but Demi-Fiend's allies also move at random. Cu Cullain can use megidolaon (bad), a fatal sword on Nuwa (ok) or debilitate (very good). Girimekhala can also use megidolaon or debilitate and can also use toxic spray or toxic cloud. As long as either of them use debilitate or if Girimekhala uses toxic spray on Baal then the clear will work.
It doesn't matter what Pixie does except she can't use zanbarion on Nuwa if Cu Cullain didn't attack Nuwa and Girimekhala didn't debut Baal, their innates don't activate otherwise.
What happens on the next player turn is pretty self-explanatory though I will say that an ikuyumi crit will only generate an extra press turn if it is the first of the group of 4, this can be helpful if you failed to activate Nuwa or Baals innate skills.

Yoshitsune passive: Whenever an ally takes an action that consumes one or more press turns, you gain 1 extra press turn on the next turn.
Baal passive: whenever the user is the target of a debuff, they gain a press turn.
Nuwa passive: when an attack is drained/repeled, gain 1 press turn on the next turn.
Some things may not be accurately described but basically this is how he gets extra press turns
@@johnny8363 For the Nuwa passive it's actually if an attack is resisted or nulled twice that she gives an extra press turn. It doesn't work with repels/drains which actually hurts reliability in this clear as Pixie can target her with zanbarion and that would ruin the strategy.

The Deity Magatsuhi skill makes it so charge effects don't expire.

Ikuyumi with max debuffs does more damage than murakumo so you'd have to get lucky with crits.
@@GreatBigHill I think you'd do more damage with Murakumo in general assuming you don't just miss every crit (use murderous glee). You wouldn't need Sandalphon on the field hogging press turns, so you could get 12 more Murakumo off than in the video. Of course, both work great regardless

How do you guarantee the enemy will use debuff on only Baal to get the extra turn? Also I thought Demi Fiend resist Almighty too, how is Nahobino doing regular damage
I can't guarantee that, even using taunt wouldn't help. I mention this in the description but the enemy turn is not as reliable as I would like. What needs to happen is that either Cu or the elephant use debilitate or the elephant targets Baal with toxic spray for the strategy to work, that happened about 50% of the time while testing.
Only Mitamas resist almighty in V, I do a lot of damage because I have over 200 magic and Ikuyumi is a really strong move.
@@GreatBigHilli cant do the strategy because in all of my attempts, pixie keeps spamming mazandyne, which nuwa reflects, stopping me from getting more press turns
@@G0OG4 I never had Pixie use mazandyne in testing so I don't know how to help, she would sometime target Nuwa with zanbarion but not that often. The only thing I can think of is that maybe MC should null force but that's just a guess.

Hey, just curious, did you think about using Omnipotent Succesion + Omagatoki Charge yourself? Beacuse there was a recent post on the megaten subreddit that talked about how OP of a strat that was, while also talking about how it could be better if you use Bael and Yoshitsune's innate skills
I don't use Reddit. I came up with charge+succession idea for Satan after seeing how Alilat could preserve the succession status with her innate skill and I had been using charge a lot with figment slashers against bosses like Shiva, Tiamat and Samael. I then decided to redo my Demi-Fiend clear with that strategy as my previous version was pretty lame.

I pulled it off after many attempts. Most failed at the end because I could not get a crit for an extra press turn even with both glees so I just used Narukami on Girimekhala on Sandalphon's turn. Overall great strat with the biggest downside being Girimekhala and Cu Chulain being dicks with Megidolaon instead of debilitating

I don't get it how did you maintain your Omnipotent Succession? Was it sandalphon's passive?
He use Omagatoki: Charge, it keep all charge types effect for whole turn.
Sandalphon is use for passive enable all almighty damage to crit.
Omagatoki charge. Succesion is counted as charge skill.
As long as you don’t use an attack skill after using a turn to pop it, it will remain until you attack. This means you can pop it turn one and then wait until the next turn you have critical, pop critical and have Nahobino use a skill (Ikyumi in this case) 4 times which will always crit.
So just to be sure, you can do this strat and also have concentrate or charge? Cause that shit would be broke af
@@LuisRuiz-jq5er No, OS overwrites charge effects (Impaler's Animus, Charge, concentrate, donum gladi/magici and critical aura) but will stack with other Magatsuhi skills (adversity, critical, savage, etc) and it will not overwrite luminescent mirage.
Was so happy to find this video as it's all something I feel I could pull off, but... [Semi-spoilers below]
I am unable to get Nuwa in my NG run now because I didn't go visit the stupid school/temple before certain events happened in the sequence of final bosses. Seems like this locks one out from getting her in NG as a character who converses with Yakumo isn't around anymore.
Any recommendations, or do you think 6 turn icons will suffice somehow without Nuwa cooking up a 7th? I don't need a two turn kill, I just need a kill so I can finally go smoke the boss that leads to Godborn mode 😢 Seems like Demi-Fiend or at least one of his skills is the only way to no get one-shotted every fuckin' turn in that fight.
This strategy was meant more as a cool showcase than anything else, there are way easier methods. I have another Demi-Fiend clear on the channel, it uses snake Nuwa for drain phys but you can get repel phys from Abdiel instead and it does the same thing.
It is also possible that Impaler's Glory with figment slash could be a good substitute for omnipotent succession and ikuyumi since it generates extra press turns. Swap Baal for any Vile demon for the initial party and then switch Baal in on turn 1 on the vile's turn. Baal would need null or resist phys to survive and you could replace Nuwa with anyone who nulls or resists phys. Everything else would go the same but you wouldn't need Sandalphon.
I haven't tested that but it's worth trying if you want to use this strategy.

That was some legitimate intel. I was already running Figment Slash, so I just had to slap on Evergreen, grab some spare compendium demons, and teach Vampire Man Safeguard and a physical skill. Think it took like five or six hits and Demi-Boy was roasted! Didn't even get Baal to proc his extra press turn either. Had no idea you could just camp Succession/Impaler's and double dip with charge (so damn stronk).

@@Gundmi It's good to know that Impler's Glory works with this strat, I thought it might but it looks like it's better than ikuyumi since you don't need Nuwa and it works on NG Canon of Creation.
Both Charge and Impaler's Glory are very slept on, even when you don't combine them like this. I think Glory is something like a 3.5x boost and Charge is really good with every charge skill.
I don't think I can pull that Off.
I'll try to find a more accessible strategy.
I didn't make this to be a guide, more of a cool showcase of what you can do with innate skills. If you get the drain/repel phys skill you can easily do it with the beast Magatsuhi skill adversity. People have also said to me that a slight variation of this strategy also works if you replace succession and ikuyumi with impalers glory and figment slash which eliminates the need to have Nuwa and Sandalphon.

I believe the idea is you start with 4 turns, but Change your party back into the stock, so all these extra turns go back to Nahobino/remaining members to use. (Or something like that. I need to try the strat to understand it lol)

My turn end when the kudlak die, 6 turn in stock but its finish when he die. Dont understand. I not use your all strat but i have take your Idea for thé combo kresnik/kudlak. Juste work on your build or i have a bug?

Omnipotent succession works with the deity race skill that makes charge effects not expire.
Is this possible without Nuwa?
From what I've heard, the general strategy is possible without Nuwa but you'll want to use impaler's animus and figment slash instead of omnipotent succession and ikuyumi. Naho will want the generic figment slash build (figment, pleromas, beast + dragon eye, crit zealot) and you can replace Nuwa with anyone who resists/nulls phys. Replace Baal with a vile demon for the initial setup and swap Baal in on the vile's first turn.
The reason this works better than ikuyumi is because you don't need Sandalphon and you can generate your own press turns with crit.
The reason this video is with ikuyumi is because it's cool and I never see people use magic for superbosses even if it is worse than figment slash (I also didn't think of the figment slash version until a few weeks ago).

You can get Nuwa in the Vengeance route by talking to a Bethel researcher after you meet Yakumo in Taito and then watching some cutscenes with him at the school and the temple. She is not locked to NG+ in the Vengeance route.

She is unlocked after beating the game on Canon of Creation or by checking up on Yakumo after you see him in Taito in Canon of Vengeance.
In CoC she was locked during netral endling, but people say she can be unlocked by beating normaly CoC. Personally in Vengeance path i just meet Yakumo near entrance to Shiva demons teritory, talk with people in Lab, then seek him at school, then go to Tokyo Temple and receive access for summoning.
If you use Figment Slash instead of that with Animus it's much Faster

Question Ikuyumi or Murakumo which one better?
Ikuyumi. I have another video where I use Murakumo on DF and a crit with critical zealot does around 4k per hit. That might seem better than the 2.4k I do with Ikuyumi but you're basically forced to use critical aura to get that kind of damage with Murakumo meaning you can't use it with donum magici or succession. The requirement of getting enemies to max debuffs isn't an issue since you want to be doing that anyway.
If you want a strength build then figment slash is a lot better than Murakumo.
It depends, if you rely on critical aura then you can't use other buffs, Ikuyumi is better, however if you can maximize your critical chance effectively without relying on critical aura then Murakumo is better
@@johnny8363 Even with both glees which is a significant investment your crit rate still isn't high enough to be reliable from what I've seen. Are there other ways to increase crit besides Glasya-Labolas?
@@GreatBigHill Not really also people have datamined the crit formula and lets say you need to have up to 3-4 times the enemy luck for consistent crits and the glees are never good. Also agility is pretty worthless as a stat too outside of increasing that and luck to lower ailment susceptibility and enemy crit chance.
@@GreatBigHill Lucifer passive also increases crit rate apparently for the entire team, but... so far lucifer passive appears to be bugged or works in weird ways / translation error from japanese.

I do have Heavenly Ikuyumi like you but all I do is let Beelzebub debilitate while Konohana Sakuya use Bowl of Hygieia and Sakuya Sakura or JUST the latter and my last party member is Agrat with both Almighty Pleromas restores and glees to compliment her Queen’s Decree. As for my protagonist along with Heavenly Ikuyumi I also have Moonlight Frost, Elusive Eclipse and Intercalation. I think I need to change my strategy…

How did you get Japanese voice?
You can select it from the options menu. If you play on Switch then you might have to download the Japanese voices as a free DLC.
