    I haven't forgotten this game. I actually liked it for what it was. The guns were so much fun to use, I always like when body parts go flying when you shoot someone. And the suicide attack never got old. Only thing I hated in the game were the boss fights. Those were really bad.

      same. I was so hyped for this game, got it and LOVED it. Just wish there was more replay-ability and the boss fights weren't as bad. I played on PS3, with a friend mostly, which was more fun than solo. Still I really liked this game.

      The only goodboss fight was the first one sinceit was a true one on one wih guns. The gunship was kinda dull, and that jumping motherfucker was dogshit. The last boss was lukewarm at best since you fought two agents that revived eachother on top of a minigunner on your ass.

    • @gabbo7101
      @gabbo7101 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      if you like the aesthetics, play the original syndicate. The original does what this remake was afraid to do. In that game, you live on a dying earth, stuck in late stage capitalism, serving corrupt corporations to silence protestors, rival corporations, rebels, etc etc. You are not the good guy in that game, and I think thats excellent, and perfectly suited for the genre of cyber punk (most modern "Cyberpunk" settings arnt cyberpunk)

    I didn't forget it. It was pretty okay but it was so different from the other games in the series. It obviously had its problems, some big but it did a lot of cool things and everything fit the theme they were going for well. Very interesting game. If I remember, apparently a lot of the people who worked on this game actually went to Machinegames and worked on Wolfenstein, so that's cool.

      Going off of starbreezes past two riddick fpses before this, I wonder how much EA had a hand in limiting development time and resources, alongside terms and conditions, sticking to the trends of the era and micromanaging the developer.

    I enjoyed this game quite a bit, if only because it was the only "corporate war" themed FPS on the entire 360 (unless I'm wrong, please someone tell me I missed something), but frankly it could have been so much more.
    The world that was built through the frankly absurd number of codex entries seemed so interesting!
    My favorite bit of lore that still sticks with me is how the CIA, after the United States functionally ceased to exist as an entity, fought a brutal shadow war against the new corporate power structure with assassinations, bombings, kidnappings... off the wall shit. However, they eventually realized that it was a hopeless conflict, and to survive became what they had so brutally fought against: a private, corporate army for hire.

    I replayed it just before Cyberpunk 2077 release. The solo is meh at best, but the multiplayer is surprinsingly satisfying, with more weapons and weapons and builds customization, more enemies(-ish. It's new factions with gangbangers, policemen and a third corporation. The only true new enemy is a riot shield guy and the bosses). More skins and environments as well.
    It feels like a prototype for Payday in certain ways and it's a shame the game flopped this hard. This multiplayer really had potential, yet barely anybody played it.

    So I recently went and started assembling a massive collection of 360 games. A lot of them are games no one remembers at all. Some are hidden gems while others are obnoxious as hell. Here's a list of games you might be interested in doing a video on. A lot of these I have yet to play. But are in the back catalogue.
    *Secret Service: Ultimate Sacrifice* : I saw this once or twice in the past. Came out in 2008 and was published by Activision. You are pretty much a Secret Service Agent going on a bunch of missions around D.C. Some big military attack is happening on the day of the inauguration. It's not very clear but either the President or President-Elect is shot and so on. After me finishing Turning Point Fall of Liberty, the controls of this game were a breath of fresh air. But they still aren't solid. Kind of stiff. Keep in mind this is on the 360 with the controller so no idea about PC.
    *Battleship* : Yeah remember that movie? Well, this actually got a game tie-in. But they decided to also include FPS moments into this. I have yet to play this one. But man, looks pretty bad. Part of the reason I overspent 24$ and got this brand new. Not sure it even be of interest as I don't know how much FPS is part of the game.
    *Section 8* : I barely remember playing the demo for this game. Decided to get it and try it out. I highly doubt the multiplayer is gonna be active and the game was marketed around that. But there is a campaign. I get the impression they were going for a type of Crysis type of game. Just minus the graphics.
    *Clive Barker's Jericho* : I remember as a child, I was terrified of this cover. Yet I always wanted to play it. This is also one of those games I hear people talk fondly about a lot. It's a Horror game with FPS in it.
    *Blacksite: Area 51* : I played the first mission of it. And man is it cringy and kind of boring. The dialogue is awful and is kind of a stereotype of FPS games with how much action and on rail stuff is in it. I tried a bit of the MP in local coop. Seemed like it'd of been fun back in the day. But the first mission left a pretty bad impression on me.
    *History Channel Civil War: Secret Missions* : This and the next game were some of my childhood memories. I used to be obsessed with the Civil War and I was so excited to see not just one, but two civil war games! Coming back 11+ Years later, I can't say it holds up. The timing is awful, and the developers knew this and gave the enemies these giant hitboxes. You don't really have to be shooting close to the enemy for you to kill them. But this is definitely the better of the two Civil War games as compared to the next.
    *History Channel Civil War: A Nation Divided* : This... there is just so much wrong. The aiming is really bad. They seemed to only have enough budget to hire a narrator and one dude. But this one dude voices every single line beside the narrators. You constantly hear the most obnoxious lines such as "We got them runnnning!" or what I believe is him yelling " This is for uncle Roland!!" But sounds like he's saying, Uncle Ramen. It seems that this dude's VA is also tied to one character model. Some old-looking dude with a pure white beard. There are two campaigns and both are short. A Union and Confederate campaign. They all pretty much play the same.
    *History Channel: Battle For the Pacific* : One of the last History Channel games made. The last two being a game about WW2 and the finale being Pawn Stars the game... But I remember always wanting to play this as a child. Doing so now, it's alright. Better then any of the Civil War games they put their name on. You at least have full auto guns in this and a better pacing. All three of these History Channel games have eh to alright graphics. AND-SM-BFTP in that order.
    *Hour of Victory* : I find it a bit disappoint I just found this as an adult. While the FOV is obnoxiously low. The gameplay is quite fun. You have three classes from three different nations. The Sniper, the CQC, and the heavy. At least I think. I played the first half and got distracted elsewhere. But it's a pretty fun game from what I played.
    I don't know if you'd be interested in doing any of these. But would love to see it if you do.

      On the PS3 side, I could contribute a few. Dust 512 (Online is dead), never actually played it, but from what I've seen of gameplay clips, It seems very ambitious at the time. Another one is Enemy Front, haven't played this yet, and from what I gather, It's a glitchy and bland open world world war FPS, should be fun. What I've played is Wolfenstein (2009), pretty much forgotten by most people, as you could no longer purchase it anywhere any longer, except by other means, sporting hub-world where you could travel and run around exploring in-between missions, it can be frustrating for some and to traverse because enemies always spawn in your ways, but I can tolerate due to how fun the gunplay is, also worth noting is how the game blends supernatural elements like older Wolfenstein does, and I especially like the designs for non-human foes, they're clearly inspired by xenomorph
      There's only two FPS that I have played from your list and they are Area 51 and Clive Barker Jericho. Honestly the former was just so generic and not that fun for me, and the latter... , I give up after 30 mins, the frame rate was horribly optimized and unplayable, do not play it on PS3, trust me

    That bloom is so bright it's like the game version of JJ Abrams using lens flare 😄

    It's a mediocre game but the shooting is so punchy, and I love the aesthetic. Don't give a rats ass about the forgettable story
    Edit, it also has some really damn good weapon sound effects. That handgun actually sounds like a handgun and not a stapler or a laser pistol.

    Wow, I can see how the same people went on to make the new Wolfenstein games (as part of a new studio). The "button machine to open doors" the general use of lighting and approach to violence. This feels like a deeply flawed prototype of Wolfenstein: The New Order.

    This really was one of those games you would rent (remember renting games?), play for a weekend and forget about, which is what I did. I remember the gunplay being good but not much else, I'd have probably had a much worse opinion if I'd actually owned it

  • @Zestence
    @Zestence 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I actually kinda liked Syndicate. Sure the story is forgettable and it has some jank, but it was "okay". Granted I didn't pay much for it, so I wasn't exactly expecting a masterpiece. I've played it to completion twice, both times in a single sitting because it's so short.

    Congrats on the twitch progress! It's a shame you didn't like this one but I can see your points. I generally enjoy the games I pick up for a few dollars, so that helps I suppose. But otherwise I had fun. Looking forward to playing it again anyway, but now with this analysis in mind.

    I echo the people saying the co-op was great. To expand on it though, it's simple missions ending with a boss fight. Like escorting a drone or stealing briefcases. The things in other co-op games that slow it down like reviving other players is done at range via hacking, and you can still shoot while doing that.
    The progression also works better in co-op. Not only do you character buffs, but weapons get better too, with you doing research that won't be complete until you complete a number of missions.

  • @pum8661

    I remember I used to think this game black and white. Not only because of it's cover art but because the few times I would see gameplay it was just dull areas with insane amounts of bloom hiding any potential color .

  • @jackmcmorrow9397
    @jackmcmorrow9397 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    conceptually, i love the idea of a military cover shooter where you break the rules FEAR style with a bullet time implant. But the cooldown on it is just WAAAAY too long. Most of your time is just sitting behind cover waiting for the cool mode to recharge. IDK maybe its more fun on lower difficulties...

    I actually wouldn't minded this game if it had a squad you could command (Gerabox's Brothers in Arms style), or multiple diverse dedicated squadmates between which you could switch on the fly (Clive Barker's Jericho style) - because in the Bullfrog's original there were 4 of you.

    Most Forgettable Game
    What a damn shame....I still remember foundly having a good amount of fun playing this game which is best pro i can say about it...Fun
    The Graphics is Eye candy to me since i played it when i was a kid and i didn't bother about the story like at all becuse it's boring...Cept that one boss with that badass sountrack.
    But the Gameplay is what got into liking it.Guns felt so satyisfying to use,Powers despite being okay i've enjoyed it nonetheless so it werid hearing that its the main con of the game when it's tottaly fine on my side...I think it's fine.
    It's not THAT underrated but it's certainly a fun experirence,For its budget ..It tried its best and i enjoyed and that's all that matter.

    I can probably guess what happened to this Starbreeze/EA spent toooo much money on Voice Actors The final boss is voiced by Michael Wincot, the Eurocorp CEO is Brian Cox and the Head Scientist is Rosario Dawson.
    It's really cool but maybe to much money for a one time game, also why play this when Deus Ex Human Revolution is a thing?
