Another fav of mine is the half-square triangle set on the diagonal - I made a top like that and it looked SO COOL! (Except for the fact that I messed up the end blocks and cut off the points. 😭😭😭

Another benefit? You don't have to piece the back! I always use 100% cotton, but tend to pre-wash these because I find the Target sheets shrink quite a bit.

I've been following you for most of the year and am thrilled to see you make a quilt. This is the first time I've seen anyone glue baste either piecing or binding. It was a bit shocking and I don't think it's for me but more power to you since it works for you.

Big hello to Jen and all the quilters in the comment section. I have never made a quilt before but am inspired to, by this channel and its supporters. Couple of things I've been wondering about.
    1. Has anyone ever made a quilt with the top layer and backing, both pieced? Not just the top?
    2. Can an old quilt get a new top and backing?( Of course, provided the batting is in good condition). Would it make any sense quilting on top of something that's already been quilted?
I would really appreciate any replies. Thank you.

Typically I do gently wash quilts after they're completed, especially since I've been manhandling it so much. Elmer's Washable School Glue is really just starch and it washes out in the laundry. Even if I didn't do that, it's sandwiched in the seam allowance (no glue is on any part of the quilt that's visible) and isn't noticeable.

An almost lost art-form. As a child in the Pennsylvania countryside, I had several female relatives that were into quilting. By 1985, most were dead, and NOW, no one quilts in the family. Pennsylvania is now an economic graveyard and quilting people are mostly found at the local craft stores.
