Why do i feel calmer and less depressed after coming off of snri?
They make people depressed and they make people off themselves.
My son has been on clozapine and risperdal for 20 years. He went cold turkey off for 3 weeks and was very manic when I started giving him a small amount of these meds every day crushed in a protein shake. He isn’t too bad now that I’m out of risperdal. I’ll make the clozapine be 25 mg now for the next month. I have lots of extra haloperidol for stopping mania. I can’t get any help from his counselor or the crisis line so I’m winging it hoping for the best.
Honestly, you should tell him that you put it into a protein shake, otherwise he might get paranoia about his drinks/food being poisoned, if you did this without his knowing. It's also important to take the same drug regularly and not switch to another drug (receptor bindings differ too much). And never cold-turkey, this damages the brain, they need to be tapered slowly, get more information online. Maybe you should consult a psychiatrist with your withdrawal plans? Best wishes for you both
i have sleep and memory problem i got after stoppet taking anti depressiv medicin i stoppet it 2019
🙏
If it’s proven to be no more effective than a placebo, how is the withdrawal so bad if it’s not doing anything?
It's creating a problem that takes a while , something months to get back to NORMAL at bes antidepressants blunt emotions.
because it is neurotoxic. It sedates you and when you wish to come off of it, your brain is left with rebound shock and trauma
Only a little more effective than placebo up to 4 weeks. In trials She hasn't gone beyond that really. 12 weeks ideal wait time SSRI. 4-8 weeks SNRI.
It's doing something, just not what it's supposed to do. It's the measure of effectiveness against "depression" that is a placebo. Other things are going on.
