    She’s quite brilliant yes. Have been following her for years. Add Dr. Healy, Dr. Breggin, and Dr. Gotzsche and you have yourself a graduate level course in exactly where we are right now in mental health. Thank you Dr. Josef for educating all of us. I so admire your work. I am a clinical social worker and most clients are taking psychotropic drugs. It is very hard to help them leave this toxic matrix.

      @@claireh.7605 Agree to disagree. Dr. Healy and Dr. Peter McCullough have done the research and both agree more research needs to be done before they can be considered safe. Like the psychiatric drug industry, the vaccine industry has been built on cherry picked data and lies.

      I also have friends who are in the toxic matrix. It's impossible for me to help them. They take a lot of lithium, neuroleptics and antidepressants and believe in the myth of chemical imbalance because their doctor told them so. I am suffering from PAWS from Effexor and I tell them to quit this dangerous poison before it's too late. In their opinion though, I am just depressed and I should listen to the doctors and take more drugs.

      @@FreeWanderingThinker if you call something an “antidepressant” the way people think about it changes from “chemical with different effects” to “something that just undoes depression.” The whole language and catchphrases about it taking time to work, about bad damaging effects being “side” effects and temporary and bla bla is just marketing rephrasing of normalizing poison.

    When you take a SSRI, and your blunting really starts to hamper you, they just give you a higher dose. A never ending circle.

    • @natnat8733
      @natnat8733 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Very true. This can be true for medications prescribed by doctors across the majority of [or all of?] the disciplines of medicine. "That's not working for you? You're not getting better? That's Ok, we'll just increase the dose. See you in .... [x weeks or months]". But the damage with psychiatry is that the 'patient' has to live with a seemingly perpetual cycle of trial and error mixed with periods of waiting, waiting, waiting while often living with horrible and distressing symptoms that can severely impact their quality of life or indeed their will for life. And for a very long time 'we' have been sold this myth that the problem was chemical imbalance - therefore the aforementioned trial, error, wait, rinse, repeat cycle was necessary. Many have continued on this path, or have supported our loved ones on this path because we believed in the inherent authority and respectability of medicine as an institution. The causes of mental illness are highly complex and unique to each individual and while medication can be helpful for some, there is *so much* that has not been properly explored. Instead, for many decades this lazy attribution to 'chemical imbalance' has been used to justify the writing of prescriptions and indeed people have become conditioned to the notion that a successful visit to the doctor requires a prescription of some sort.

    I think your narrative here is very telling. It's as if there's an overall callousness in society which deeply damage some individuals that are more sensitive in nature. And then, as a solution (which then to the person in question becomes very palatable) the idea is to make them callous too, rather than to offer emotional support and questioning society as a whole. I had callous parents with no emotional intelligence, so to me, always being "the too sensitive" one, it wasn't that hard to brain wash me into believing an adhd diagnosis, EVEN with a bachelor in sociology (which is very critical in nature). But like Peter Breggin says, when you turn to psychiatry (which I actually didn't willingly) you are hopeless; and in that state you are vulnerable.

    • @FreeWanderingThinker
      @FreeWanderingThinker 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, exactly. They take advantage of hopeless people, that's criminal. I am a physicist, and I was a researcher in AI before going through the hell of PAWS from Effexor. I used to question everything. I still do not know how I have managed to believe in the fairy tale of the chemical imbalance for over 12 years!!

    • @natnat8733
      @natnat8733 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Very true. And your vulnerability when in front of a member of the powerful institution of medicine can lead you to trust and believe what you are told regarding the medication that is offered. Betrayal of that trust [i.e. "I've been sold a crock of crap" re the medications I've been prescribed can be pretty crushing {I'm speaking as both a non-doctor mental health professional and as a client}. Also, Re your comment that "as a solution .... the idea is to make them callous too" instead of addressing causes - or even demonstrating an awareness of and a willingness to address the cause(s), *Gaslighting* is also a potential solution or option ... [to be clear, this is said with 'tongue firmly in cheek']. I have personal experience of this.. For example, making *you* the problem or the cause/source of the problem thereby resulting in a life of shame, secrecy and fear. The good ole DARVO: Deny Attack Reverse Victim and Offender. Both 'solutions' are especially effective tools [among others] for destroying mental health.

    • @TheDavveponken
      @TheDavveponken 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@natnat8733 hadn't heard of darvo before, but that is indeed a perfect descriptor. The shame of having been tricked and permanently damaged is crushing. I don't know how to live with it. And I am no alien because of my experience of neurological damage. I've already lost a friend (but good riddens). Thank you for your insights

    The providers in the US system exhibit a certain pathology - certainly qualifying for treatment with psychotropics. Many patients are not surprised as we are told that sick and dysfunctional systems attract certain kinds of people (I remember this from my psych100 class and any therapist would likely agree). These guys saw the US Healthcare system and said , "Sign me up for this!" ?????

    Hi Joanna, I really thank you for all the good work your doing. I would like some advice regarding my sons situation. My son is currently on a community treatment order which is due to be renewed in July 24. My son is really struggling with the meds recently informed me he wants to come of the meds as he no longer feels emotions. I spoke to a mental health nurse last week.regarding this she informed the psychiatrist has the power to recall my son into hospital to give him the meds. Where do we stand legally regarding this. My son is currently a shell of his former self.

      He is doing this to spread awareness. We have the internet as a tool to do this. The internet effectively spreads awareness on many things, so he is tapping into that. I am beyond thrilled that he makes all these frequent videos. I want to see change in my lifetime. We have the opioid crises which is common knowledge, & someday this will be common knowledge. The fact that prescribers are missing the side effects of these drugs, and instead adding more drugs when they should be safely tapering their patients off as soon as the harmful effects start, is going to become common knowledge. The fact that prescibers hand psychotropic out like candy and they are hurting people & injuring them will also become common knowledge. My mom went through this in the 80's & 90's and she healed, but there was no internet for her to research on. She would have suffered way less, or probably never took a benzo at all if it was common knowledge how horrible psychotropic meds are. The internet is the way to spread awareness. Dr. Josef has made a video explaining that.
