The Blue Trail With The Unrideable Feature

  • This trail is awesome for two reasons. First, it's a fast and fun trail with a mix of terrain and optional features. Second, it has one of the coolest stunts I've ever laid eyes on. For the past two summers, I've driven out to Calgary and made a point to stop in Revelstoke for a quick lap or two to break up the drive. On both trips, I've scoped out what I call the "Elephant Trunk," an elevated kinked skinny jump with no landing. As much as it hurts my soul to skip it, I just haven't been able to wrap my head around it. I'm fairly certain I could ride it in a trialsy way without too much difficulty, that is to slowly ride down it and pedal kick off the end, but I'm not sure it would do the line justice. Nor would I ever try that on a solo ride away from home. I'm not even sure I could get my bike up there by myself. Also, thank you for helping me reach 2,000 followers! Glad to have everyone along for the ride.

You need those three plus great reactions, timing, spacial awareness, flight path negotiations a split second before... And on top of all that, more bottle than the vast majority of us could ever muster. This sport and riders like you definitely deserve more coverage. You're pushing the limits of human maneuverability. Big respect from me.

I'm thinking it probably has a video camera on it and just like the squirrel that wants the bird seed only to either successfully get it or to fail multiple times..
I wonder if it was an experimental thing for an agility course for a trail dog...(and dogs ONLY) Haha!

My normally low blood pressure goes up watching your videos, because I can imagine myself being killed repeatedly.
I’m thinking that unridable section is someone’s attempt at humor.

I find it funny that, as someone who only saw these types of clips of rides in the past in really old meme compliation.
I find it funny that a ubisoft game has brought me to just watching these rides casually.

Would be interesting to see that feature in it's original configuration. I am assuming it used to have a proper entrance ramp and probably some sort of landing or roll down at the finish. The old shool stuff (double black) on the Shore wasn't that different, with super skinny squirrel catcher enterences to stop most people (see Flying Circus).
