I would say its different from person to person but in this case i bet he just zoned out like most? people do, since you also get "used" to it i would argue its just white noise in such a speedy run where your brain has to cut out many things in order to just concentrate on ur task. I also think it can boost your confidence

Try mountain biking, I'm an architect and I was always in the office, drawing plans etc.. Then I got myself a mountain bike, and I actually feel so good whenever I'm on the trails, It made me realize that there's more things like this outside my studio that are so much more enjoyable. I'm obviously not even a percent close to the guy in the vid but yeah, I still enjoy it lol.

Everyone advances at their own pace, that's true, but nobody starts on world cup trails. I was recently informed by a good online friend that my pestering got through to him and he acquired a bike that could hold his weight (very obese). Told me he's enjoying offroading a lot, even if it's just flat fire roads for now.

Super intensive. I got the feeling that after two minutes there is no oxygen left for the brain and hands feel numb.. just follow the plan and pedal as hard as you can.
That looks like a lot of fun, and so easy. I bet if I tried people would say things like: "I've never seen anything like it." "He'll probably never walk again" or maybe even, "It'a impressive how someone with such a slow time could take out that many people at the finish line."

Maybe he needed to slow a bit to get the right path for the wheels. You can also not steer when flying over the bumps and notches. I don't count slowing down for that as losing time. But maybe you are right :P It's impressive either way.
Bruh I flinched and leaned back on that first turn!😂 I’m not even sit here & gonna lie!! Those trees scared me towards the last half, one slip and your clavicles are gone! This is the real definition of intense! That rider deserves more than just his sponsors in my opinion. These riders risk there lives just for this sport and all the other sports out there.

I struggle to sense the speed these guys race, except for this run. The only way I could genuinely tell the difference in speed on this run was the way that the air horns sounded when Amaury went past. I've never experienced audio like that on a final bike run. The sound is unreal just hearing all of that whiz past you and keeping your focus. Some of those lines weren't even lines! Madness, big up

I've been riding MTB for years and I'm more of an XC rider. I've bombed down hills before but every time I see these folks shred the hell out of downhill like this, it just blows my mind how quickly they're processing what's coming at them. Good stuff.
He's probably done the track before, and might have done it so much that he has the whole thing memorized. It's not that long a track, and from his name he probably lives in France, and thus can get to it for practice without vast trouble. Which isn't say that it didn't take considerable skill and courage.
the world cup level instructor i had one year told me that you don't process it. You keep your chin up and use the bottom of your vision, which is reactionary. processing takes to long. you memorize the course then react almost automatically
That was flat out AMAZING!!! the praise was well deserved, that was an insane ride that made you cringe and turn your body with every movement. One wrong turn and you could have been either seriously hurt or in the cases of the trees, dead!!! Thanks for this.

I know the fish-eye effect add on speed and narrowness but damn that's impressive. He is litteraly at max speed almost everywhere. The level of concentration and the curves cutting are insane. Truly a run for the legend.
I bike a lot, and my GoPro footage makes me look slower, this guy is going so fast it's insane. It's even crazier when you've actually ridden one of the world cup descents, they are hard as hell and it's impossible for me to imagine going down them at such speeds
Holy Sh¡t, that was AWESOME¡! The feeling of going all out like this is indescribable... It's a massive rush of adrenaline but it's also super calming, I can't explain it but it's as good as a therapy session. LoL
I normally watch these as is, but I had to shift to a skiing mindset and tried to see the path rather than the obstacles. Even then one of those blue boundary posts seemed to pop up out of nowhere. What insane concentration and skill

From 1:15 till the end of the race, if you stare at the track your element goes in to an element of focus and everyone sounds like background noise it’s crazy

I bike a lot, and my GoPro footage makes me look slower, this guy is going so fast it's insane. It's even crazier when you've actually ridden one of the world cup descents, they are hard as hell and it's impossible for me to imagine going down them at such speeds

Holy Sh¡t, that was AWESOME¡! The feeling of going all out like this is indescribable... It's a massive rush of adrenaline but it's also super calming, I can't explain it but it's as good as a therapy session. LoL

I normally watch these as is, but I had to shift to a skiing mindset and tried to see the path rather than the obstacles. Even then one of those blue boundary posts seemed to pop up out of nowhere. What insane concentration and skill
