i think its pretty clear the wings are all decorative on every skypeian. urouge's wings change halfway through the series. none of the skypeian's wings move or react like king's or tenguyama hitetsu's, etc. i think they can all just take them off and they're accessories and not real wings. the skypeians are also just normal humans.

When I was watching OP as a kid, after they introduced giants, I always figured huge/tall/weirdly proportioned humans were all explained by having some amount of giant's blood in their family. Like Luffy, being one of the most petite humans, would be pretty thoroughly human, but Brook or the admirals or Whitebeard must have some giants in their family that results in their huge size. The canon answer is probably as simple as "oda drew them that way" but I like that you can put two and two together in a connected world like OP
Yeah i agree i like to think of it as a recessive gene or something that can pop up between generations like big mom who has 2 normal sized parents but is huge. Or i like to think in one piece world they just have a much wider range of normal height like Doflamingo being on the higher end of it and luffy being on the shorter end.

Loki the prince of Giants from Elbaph could be a Buccaneer, as Buccaneers is said to have blood of giants, and Loki seems to be a dwarf sized compared to the rest among race of Giants.
Aside from Kuma who is canonically a Buccaneer, who else could it be other than Loki.
I love how the Straw Hats are "normal" in size compared to most of their opponents. (Technically Brooke and Franky are freakishly tall compared to real life, but not OP.) It makes the antagonists more imposing and it makes you root for them more. Just look at the size difference between the Straw Hats and the Blackbeard Pirates o_O.
Shanks and his crew look relatively normal for an emperor's crew though which is a bit weird.

I started watching One piece about a month ago, l started with the water 7 arc.. Its all thanks to this Chanel. Iv always avoided one piece, even though l knew its one of the best anime of all time, because its soo long.. But now l don't even notice how long it is

@Celestial Vestibule that was my point with looking at a picture. I don’t think many pictures survive from Cleopatra marrying her two brothers or ancient Incan nobles marrying their sisters. Royals all over Europe were marrying family members off all over like crazy since before Charlemagne until it really culminated in the early 20th century when the “noble’s” family tree basically turning into a family wreath as a whole.

The long-arm, long-leg and snake-neck tribes are basically references to Japanese yokai, interestingly enough. The first two are based on the Ashinaga (long-arms) and Tenaga (long-legs), whilst the snake-necks are based on the Rokurokubi. Interestingly, in mythology, Ashinaga and Tenaga are actually very friendly towards each other, to the point that they are usually found in teams made up of one of each tribe and thusly they're commonly referred to as a single unit - Ashinaga-tenaga.

I'm not convinced. The Tenaga sounds like a tall story, while the Ashinaga is a bit of a stretch. I wouldn't stick my neck out for the Rokurokubi either.

I've never understood why fishmen aren't more important to the series. Like Arlong is a bad guy but he's right, fishmen are better than humans. There isn't really any disadvantage to being a fishman other than the racism. Even fishmen that eat a devil fruit don't have to be super scared of the sea because they can still breath underwater.
Honestly though I would be a little bit more scared of the sea as a DF user Fishman because since i wouldn't drown there's a chance i would be stuck at the sea floor for however long it would took for me to die of hunger

I find it so interesting that so many of these races were referenced in the Sabody arc before they were even introduced. There was a list of most of the races and there prices that was shown before the rescue at the slave auction house.
I wonder if Chopper would be considered an honorary Mink? He may not have electro, but he can control his Monster point making it a kind of Sulong transformation

Isnt it strange that there are giant fishmen as big as normal giants but they are considered the same race? Makes me think that humans and giants are more closely connected in the one piece world then we think especially considering how the kids on punk hazard were being turned into giants

I have a theory that there is a nose tribe. Montblanc Cricket is one of the most important ancient characters and he had a round nose. And I think Buggy is from the same tribe cuz his nose is round and maybe red because of inflammation (idk).
For some reason, I feel like Buggy have a big role in LaughTale and the treasure One Piece.
One Piece is said to make you laugh. Buggy = Clown. Clown = Makes you laugh.

They state Kaido was most likely a dragon turned human probably by vegapunk. Probably a human human fruit type of some sort can be an option. Shapeshifiting is a option too. Just like Momonosuke would ate the articfical dragon fruit. Power he has yet to tap into just yet.

You forgot to mention that Magellan is also some type of unique race that I think is spotted among a few others with the devil features.
There's probably already a tonne of theory crafting put into King's race by now, but my money is on him either being a Demon or Elemental (think like the Genasi race from Dungeon's and Dragons)

Since we were introduced to a cheeta mink way back on long ring long land as a part of foxy's crew. Also a human and other race hybrid is kinda common in OP's world, since we've seen some in the story before, the likes of delinger who's a fighting fish-human highbreed and chimney, kokoro's grand-daughter and along with bigmom's long-arm, long-leg, snake-neck, dwarf and all other of her hybrid children
