- In this video, we're going over each member of the Charlotte Family from One Piece.
After rewatching the anime and getting caught up with the end of the Whole Cake Island arc, I found myself having a better understanding of who was who when it comes to Big Mom's various children, but even so, it was still hard to remember who was who? Along with what each of them was all about.
So in this video, we're taking a look at all 85 of Big Mom's children, in terms of who they are, what role they serve in the crew, and what each member is capable of if we've seen even that much.
With that in mind, I hope each of you walks out with a better understanding of who these characters are.

Now for this particular video, even though it wasn't necessary I decided to go that extra mile and spent a TON of time on it. I can't even tell you how much time it took to just crop out ever character manually alone... So needless to say I really hope you guys enjoy this one! Big mom's various children were something I really enjoyed about the arc, but I was a bit disappointed that we didn't get to see the majority of them in action. So I wanted to take a second to learn more about each of these characters and what they're all about. Needless to say after spending countless hours with research and editing, I have a much bigger appreciation for the Charlotte Family. As Oda really went all out with each of their designs, and even their roles within the crew.
Hopefully we get to see more of them in the future, and hopefully, you guys now have a better understanding of who is who within the family!

I bet Big Mom's Grandchild was scrapped because her child's is too many. Katakuri supposedly had Grandchild at his age. I also think katakuri (and other sibling) partner killed, just like they almost did to Sanji.
Realistically, Big Mom would have like two dozen grandkids but 85 character designs for her kids were enough for Oda
yeah her whole crew must be so large by now and is ever expanding with her arranging political marriages and her child getting married left and right to different pirates, and considering her children's age, she may even have a great grand chldren by now.
It is said at least in the manga that the older children already have children of their own, they just weren't shown
The 85 children of Big Mom show how creative oda is. These are just inconsequential characters yet Oda managed to imbue them with their own identity and characterization. They all have their own character designs that are very unique to their own.

Honestly they are mostly just throw away characters. They don't really have any personality. Only a handful will actually have any importance.

Kaido is 59, the eldest triplets are 48; the two first met in the rocks pirates when big mom was 26 and kaido was 17 (or it was 19 i cant remember); big mom is too possessive to share a kid and kaido is too controlling to let an equal take care of his child; and finally big mom's desire for a family and kaido's respect of strength gives the two of them a sibling bond... so no big dragon kids. I shot that down early.
She also specifically "Little Brother" zones him lmao too much of an age difference for her I guess. This theory is easily shot down.

And Shanks and Kaido will be another duality. Kaido has meaningless subordinates who he treats poorly and doesn’t value, but can hold parties. Shanks has valued Nakama who he parties with and treats well.
What’s Blackbeard gonna be like? Less brutal then Kaido, but nowhere near as familial as Shanks or WB

Luffy can stretch himself in any direction, Blackbeard can pull objects toward him.
Luffy earned the respect and loyalty of his crew. Blackbeard got their loyalty after breaking them from Impel Down.
Luffy trained himself to get stronger while Blackbeard took a shortcut and used devil fruits to become strong.
Luffy deeply cares for his crew. Blackbeard, outside of the initial members, doesn't care unless you're strong (Impel Down level 6 prisoners)
Lastly, both crews are relatively small, compared to WB, Kaido, and Big Mom who have an entire armada to go to war at moment's notice.
I’m by now almost sure that whenever a new kid is born and Big Mom needs to think of a name, she just opens a cookbook, closes her eyes and randomly points a finger on the page.
Why do I oddly picture the other kids place bets on which name(s) that their mom will pick?

I don't personally have anything against Flampe, sure she was bitchy toward Katakuri but she was barely present in the story, so I don't really hate her that much. Besides, at 15, her behaviour is pretty normal :D

When you look what abilities she had as a kid, defeating full grown giants, I have no doubt pregnancies even slowed her down. In most cases, they might not even have been visible except with like the 10-ling due to her own size and the size of most of her kids.

I don't know what is more astonishing about this video, knowing that Big Mom had gazillions of children and husbands or the fact that you were able to memorize their names, the order they were born, and the number of whose fathers they were born to.
I don't think Katakuri will get the Snack treatment for two reasons :
1- the entire Big Mom crew got owned and Big Mom herself was embarrassed so I don't think she's in a place to judge Katakuri who actually did the best out of the bunch.
2- lack of a replacement.
3- it's Katakuri
4 - He looks badass
5 - dougnut
6 - he cool
And he is canonically her strongest fighter. Wether he lost or not doesn't change that fact. So it's not like she can get someone better.
I love being french for this. For example, Amande means Almond in english, and Mondée, Hachée and Effilée are three different ways to prepare almonds (peeled, diced and sliced respectively)

Given moscatto lost 40 years of his life and he already was 40 at the time, that'd put him at abt 80 years.
It was stated by Oda that humans in One Piece can live up to 140 years, so it'd be assumed Moscato still has about 60 years to live

In Wano, some of the big mom pirates point out that Katakuri still outranks Perospero, and thus in the wake of big mom’s presumed death, Katakuri would be the next captain, not Perospero, so it seems that Katakuri maintains his rank. Maybe Snack was demoted because unlike Luffy, Urouge was quickly defeated, and it was decided that Snack lost to too weak of an opponent.

I just recently realized something. Every one of Big Mom's Children up to Snack and Bavarois(depending on the date) were on the Rocks' Pirates Ship before the crew disbanded.
Great video, but I think it would’ve been nice to also mention the origin of their names. At least the less obvious ones

So unless he got with hot giant 20 year old Linlin when he was 11 years old 😕 he’s likely not katakuri, daifuku, and ovens father, or the father of any of big mom’s oldest children. Still could be the father of some of the younger ones, but doubtful Oda will do that

well... seeing how they have things like book book/heat heat/mirror mirror no mi an alike, it could be possible just being lucky lol
my theories :
1. they invite someone who has the food & candy themed df to whole cake island with a sweet negotiation to gave them a better life / alliance support from big mom pirates, but the truth is they lied
2. they kill them there so after they died, soon the devil fruit will bloom in nearby island (still in whole cake island)
3. they command the entire country to search for the fruit
Had been suspicious about this. My suspicion is that every devil fruit appears closest to the places that uses stuffs that resembles its power so much? Cos big mom's always eat sweets so much, maybe those cake ingredients& sweet types of devil fruits appear by themselves just there.. in Totto Land!
And maybe that's why Doflamingo easily found Ace's devil fruit cos he knows about this fact (and search it in a place of where it's likely to appear)?

Only Katakuri is a Sweet Commander, Oven and Daifuku aren’t. Though they are probably strong enough to be deemed ones.

The joke here about Pudding getting married at 16 isnt illegal in many Asian countries and THAT doesnt make it morally wrong too. Even so, Big Mom is a pirate. She doesn't care about any of her husbands so I doubt she cares about age and probably has them marry as young as 15 considering thats the age they actually get to do stuff.

I do don't think Katakura would had been demoted. I think Katakura is a special case. Just because it happened to one of big mom's kids doesn't mean it will happen to the other. He was considered as a similar as a legend in Big Mama's Kingdom.

About that whole theory of Kaido being one of Big Moms husbands, Kaido is 9 years younger than Big Mom and since she had her first kid at 18 and assuming she had at least one pregnancy every year after since Katakuri was in her 3rd-5th (Depending on when the oldest daughters where born) that would mean Kaido would have been her husband and knocked her up when he was 11-14
I was surprised you didn't mention Perospero dad possibly being Streusen. There's a lot of similar features and it's been a pretty popular running theory right next to the Kaido one as well.
