What's wrong with real leather seats? You Germans are always insane. You destroyed this continent twice, now it's the third time with your ecological insanity.
Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. I also bought cars with animal skin leather seats before I did my research and got to know the industry. The most important thing is: With today's modern materials, you have nothing to lose, just to gain. You achieve the same kind of luxury and comfort or even better while having the same or better durability with less impact on humans, animals and the environment. You can use fabric/cloth, microfibre or leatherette. The classic approach is using oil/plastic as source material. Overall, a vehicle contains about 300 kg plastic. A car seat needs about 5 kg plastic. So the overall plastic share for the seats is very low and it is at this moment the most efficient way to produce a car seat. A couple of litres of fuel equals a car seat basically. So if you want to save oil/plastic, rather look at consumption for energy, fuel and heating and to other car parts than the seat. Note that animal skin leather also always contains a plastic coating for durability. However, long-term we should of course find raw oil alternatives. So going further, seats can be made from recyclables (e.g. from PET-bottles or old fishing nets) or even increased share of plant-based materials (like pine oil, canola oil or start-up materials like Pinatex from pineapple leaves or Desertex from cactus fibre or the mixed-plant-based Mirum, so be seen at th-cam.com/video/S1aNZeoatmE/w-d-xo.html). On a calculation base, by ditching animal skin leather from car interiors, the amount of emissions (CO2e) is reduced by 85 (!) % (www.press.bmwgroup.com/africa-dom-easteurope/article/detail/T0403389EN/on-the-market-from-2023:-bmw-and-mini-models-with-vegan-interiors?language=en) - and that is a very conservative calculation. So it is at this moment the most important thing you can do to make car interiors more sustainable. A good example for high-end luxury with ventilated animal free seats is the BMW X7 with Sensafin: th-cam.com/video/1pRNkW9nrrw/w-d-xo.html And the Kia EV9 with plant-based oil share: th-cam.com/video/6vXePQi_MAk/w-d-xo.html New leatherette materials can be superior in every aspect, even for cleaning: th-cam.com/video/u94YXJ72UTA/w-d-xo.html More and more natural materials are rising: th-cam.com/video/nRSsXEnwHDo/w-d-xo.html Also check out what the animal skin leather industry tried to with our channel: th-cam.com/video/nP_CvLlaFlI/w-d-xo.html For seeing how the animals are being treated and transported in the global leather industry, watch this footage: th-cam.com/video/tkjCAmq1_8E/w-d-xo.html Note that the footage is genuine and was recorded by a highly decorated investigative journalist in Germany I know myself personally. In a high animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat is the "first" misuse case, the hide remains a profitable body part. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you demand it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and harms the environment, you make them more profitable. Alternatively, you could support industries with your wallet which try to improve the sustainability of materials. Also, if you turn the argument around to "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize that it doesn't make sense (and is ethically doubtful) to discuss the primary use of individual body parts of mammals. Mind experiment: You are getting slain down on the street; would it matter to you if it was for your smartphone or for your purse? Not including those seats in US cars is probably due to a saftey regulation issue, happens a lot with performance seats coming to the US from overseas manufacturers... The companies then always say "US customers don't want them" which is total BS.

I’ve always wondered why the GT3 RS has the monopoly on sports livery? Glad to see a bold option. I like a good sleeper, but if I was paying that much money I’d want to show off a little. Very cool imo
Car prices for stuff like this has reached ridiculous levels. At some point all of these limited edition variants will have to depreciate is there's just so many versions.
Maybe an RS Etron GT Avant can carry the legacy in electric form. But man, what a way to go. So practical and brilliant. I like it more than the station wagon Taycans.

Thanks for reviewing this Audi . Great design Audi’s line up was starting to become a bit banal and in the United States it’s consumer base was starting to increase in age due to a design that was in desperate need of a refresh. Hoping Audi offers a variety of color combinations. Kinda cool updates but definitely not worth the price hike. The rs6 stock is better value besides who needs “racing wagon” when the rs6 is plenty fast already

Although not a big fan of the color scheme, the overall look of this version is stunning. And, as usual, great job on getting into the fine details of the vehicle. Also, great job on the shooting -- the downshot of the wheel at 4:23 really shows the awesome, concave shape. Love your videos!!
7:55 - that's a really odd throwaway line. The actual likely reason we aren't getting those seats is because they don't have airbags in them; making them verboten in the eyes of the DOT. (Same reason we don't get these seats in the RS5 Comp.) So I'm really not sure why Audi PR felt the need to bullshit there when the legitimate reason makes way more sense.
Love it, Thomas. It reminds me of the original Volvo v60 Polestar, but on extreme steroids. But the best part for me? No electric power plant. Just ICE and biturbo. Lovely, but "end of an era", huh? 😢
I prefer mercedes amg gt63s e performance which is 863hp 0-100: 2.8 seconds..so for this look of audi i am so dissapointed about horsepower of the car..why audi why ?? You can easily make this car 800hp car but why keep it 630hp..😢
Putting this beast aside for a moment, there was a great point made at 3:35. I often can't believe how little distance many drivers keep when driving at high speeds on busy German highways. I recently drove through entire Germany on my way back home from the Austrian Alps and I felt like I was leaving too much space between the car in front of me (driving most of the time 130-150 km/h), which invited others to cut in. This is also not ideal. Is there a solution that strikes a balance between the two?
Quite often when a car maker makes designs a car to be reminiscent of a racing car of the past, it looks pretty crude and OTT. On the other hand, this RS6 GT looks pretty damn great ☝😉👍
6 hundred and a half horses are way too much for any normal driver to handle, and not all drivers are michelle moutons, even on racetrack, not to mention on regular roads. this car is pure collectors' item, with great financial potential in the future. for me, a golfR variant / evo IX wagon / cupraleon estate are good enough both for cruising and fun on twisty roads. btw, any plans for a future classic review with an evo wagon? :D
a porsche 911 was always the sports car I dreamed of owning...I now own one...but the Audi RS6 and now the RS6 GT....will make me throw my Porsche 911 to the curb for one of these.....
Uh, yes of course we want those sport seats! And in addition, we want the flat bottom wheel, 360 camera, garage opener, and rear trunk kick open added back to the U.S. market ‘25 RS3! Please
Audi RS6 is the only car in this world I wan't to at least drive once in my life for a day. I would settle even with previous generation. No other car or super car ever comes close to this wish. I'm probably the only guy in this world with an estate car beign his dream car lol. And this one in the video, oh man :)
For our Chinese 666 is not a bad number. In the contrary, it's like 'oh damn it that's pretty COOL🤙🤙🤙'. If Audi make NO.666, I think so many rich guys are willing to pay extra price for it😎😎
@ryu411 yes rs5 has different drivetrain RS7 is a sportback more practical than a sedan and looks better so best of both worlds really but the avant rs6 is the best one. I currently have a rx 450h and 535d touring but might replace the touring for a c7.5 rs6 if I find one with low mileage and good spec.
Used to love the RS6 but this area is over. While these last fossiles are coming out of factories : it is Time to look at the future of power delivery and performance from EVs.
what a machine, as much as i also like electric cars, these cars will be deeply missed in the future, knowing no other auto maker will make a wild wagon or sedan is sad, maybe a suv here and there but it will mostly be small efficient engines that might be powerful but will never match the true monsters
Beautiful car. It's a shame the whole Volkswagen group portfolio in the US limits animal free interiors to base models (at best) whereas BMW and Mercedes offer premium non leather interiors all the way up the stack including sport and ventilated seats. They have no problems telling a sustainable story with their EV interiors but if it runs on gas they don't even pretend .

For seeing how the animals are being treated and transported in the global leather industry, watch this footage: th-cam.com/video/tkjCAmq1_8E/w-d-xo.html
Note that the footage is genuine and was recorded by a highly decorated investigative journalist in Germany I know myself personally.
We cannot change what we have bought in the past, but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.
Stunning model!! A real family car!! LOL. Great review!!
This Audi RS6 GT is impressive, indeed. Immensly so ! Styling, trimming and motorizing are immaculate ! Terrific job by Audi !!!
Thank you Thomas,
Although that car is impossible for I am very thankful that you are bringing that masterpiece close to us.
Thank you.
Looks great! Love it
Thomas and his team always bringing the best Audis to us! Thank you! 👍🙏🖤
Coolest RS6 ever, but if i could choose i would take the IMSA GTO, the sound of that racing engine is just out of this world.
I've seen so many comparison between old cars and new cars. It's crazy to me how the new cars are huge in comparison. Specially the Mini coopers.
I would totally want the microfiber option for the seats! coming from an American lol
everyone gangsta until Kerosene starts playing! 😱
This is the real MASTERPIECE...
Ich freue mich jetzt schon auf den RS 6 GT Competition! Das wird ein Fest!
I am in ❤ with this car. Not much has got me this excited in recent years 😂
Craziest car ever 🤩🤩💯💯😯😯🔥🔥🔥🔥
Perfect design I like the wild style.
🤤 Audi well done! Keep it up!!!
I prefer mercedes amg gt63s e performance which is 863hp 0-100: 2.8 seconds..so for this look of audi i am so dissapointed about horsepower of the car..why audi why ?? You can easily make this car 800hp car but why keep it 630hp..😢
Merc also probably has 400lbs of extra weight on it.
I wish the Audi Rs7 gt could come out
Putting this beast aside for a moment, there was a great point made at 3:35.
They finally fixed the bumper and gave it a real wing.
Wow...!! 😮 What a car... 😎 I especially love those wheels which remind me S4 B6/7 Avus wheels... 🤩😍
Quite often when a car maker makes designs a car to be reminiscent of a racing car of the past, it looks pretty crude and OTT.
On the other hand, this RS6 GT looks pretty damn great ☝😉👍
If only they made this as saloon would have made it so exclusive and more heritage
I really wish they had the IMSA style wheels on it
What a car Thomas was it comfortable to drive as good as an s class
I guess this wagon has Thomas approved grotesque emissions per km.
This is not a car. It is a holy place to go and pray for the future of car enthusiasts.
Holy Molly 🤯
Yes, indeed, it is a car
4k,full screen,full length 😂❤
OH, its a dream car. Looks fantastic as it is. Can I get one, please?
shoutout to the german guy who measures racing car trunks 👽💯
"most screaming-out" I love that haha xD
Matt Watson needs to contact Audi so he can get this one for drag racing. 😊
I celebrate this new understeering machine! 🎉🎉
For our Chinese 666 is not a bad number. In the contrary, it's like 'oh damn it that's pretty COOL🤙🤙🤙'. If Audi make NO.666, I think so many rich guys are willing to pay extra price for it😎😎
They should make 888. The 888th would be an extremely prized car.
They take a Trade in for Audi A3 TDI?
Something to give the M5 CS a run for it’s money.
It’s FABULOUS
I hope this will come in sedan form too!
I’m not a fan of hatchbacks. 😢
But that front end is just brutal!
Thats the whole point of RS6 get a RS7 or RS5 instead.
@@alexc5228 I’m pretty sure the RS7 is also a hatchback. I’m also pretty sure the RS5 has a different powertrain from the RS6/7.
@@alexc5228 Good luck on your search!
Those wheels are from the 2000 s3
Unnecessary car i prefer rs6 performance with same horsepower less cost this is a bit robbery for me
Used to love the RS6 but this area is over. While these last fossiles are coming out of factories : it is Time to look at the future of power delivery and performance from EVs.
wow....this is amazing!
Kerosene starts playing*
Co2 overall increased even with ECar as Cars get heavier, more power and bigger. We have to build more small and LIGHT cars @Lotus
There will be a driving video. Right?
AVUS S8 D2 iyknk
Stunning 😮
Looks great!
Hey Thomas, is there a sunroof as option?
beautiful monster
RS6 GT and B5 GT will be missed
cool livery
Better than that same clowned m3 touring
Considering the previous GT badge was in the R8, this is getting a little out of hand…
what a machine, as much as i also like electric cars, these cars will be deeply missed in the future, knowing no other auto maker will make a wild wagon or sedan is sad, maybe a suv here and there but it will mostly be small efficient engines that might be powerful but will never match the true monsters
When someone asks to see a friendly German, I show them Thomas 😂
😂
The suspension tool looks like Audi's attempt at a hammer and sickle logo
What a whip…
Design literally could not be any more perfect. Should have had 700hp though along with some more weight saving.
I could put all my groceries in there, gimme that naow!
🇺🇸 price ?
Quickest powerhouse estate.
thought it was sth much smaller like i20n when it's next to Thomas lol
Beautiful car. It's a shame the whole Volkswagen group portfolio in the US limits animal free interiors to base models (at best) whereas BMW and Mercedes offer premium non leather interiors all the way up the stack including sport and ventilated seats.
They have no problems telling a sustainable story with their EV interiors but if it runs on gas they don't even pretend .
yap indeed!
Holy He'll ive not seen such an aggressive & awesome car like this for a very very long time & omg its absolutely stunning WOW!!!😱👌🏻👍🏻😁
I now drive an EV but I would ditch any EV for this car. RS6 is my dream car! ❤
Wicked looking, it looks like a hot wheels car!
What an animal ☠️🔥
I can hear Kerosene playing from this car.
It's awesome. 0_0
