    Dude, this has to be one of the absolute best review videos I’ve ever seen! On anything! You did a fantastic job man. Although I was keeping track of 3 specific heads and was hoping the Evo by Day Six would and wouldn’t be the first, and sure enough it was first.This is the first video I’ve ever seen of yours honestly, but I will be back. Keep up the good work, and I’m buying a pack of Evos! 🤣

      I totally agree with David,,, Man I have been browsing all kinds of tests through last 6 months, including broadhead test and there has been similar but yours was by far the most versatile.
      Couple things maybe I would like to have; comments of how did they perform with the hunting situation and splitting the hair... the noise test might have been made inside... but that is about it... I will give you score anyhow 10+ out of 10.. Thus I subscribed to your channel as well... keep up the good work... And since you were so good with this. Could you make the test for the release as well.. Although I made my

    First off..that was one of the best broadhead tests ive seen yet...and believe me, ive seen quite a pile of em. And secondly, when you get a chance to use the ramcats on an animal, i have no doubt you'll be quite impressed. Been using them for years and i watch these tests to see if any broadheads will persuade me to switch and haven't found any yet. Although your test and many others have shown that there are better performing heads out there, there havent been enough to want me to switch. Always phenomenal bloodtrails and quick deaths. You know the reason i watched this all the way through is because i was seeing other videos on the slick trick and was seriously on the fence about switching to them. Seen this great video by you and now you confirmed it...sticking with them ramcats.

    I'm also in KY! Great test man. I'm a huge broadhead nerd as well and I've watched every broadhead video out there and tested quite a few over the last year.
    I was interested to see that the Shuttle T shot so terrible. I shot it for years and the only thing that kept me there was the flight. It just flew great for me. The only reason I switched was because of quality and durability.

    • @bloodlinesarchery
      @bloodlinesarchery  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      T-lok was very disappointing. I knew it wouldn’t be very durable, but I expected it to make up for it with accuracy.
      I shot that Broadhead more than any other head for the accuracy test. I kept thinking “this has to be my fault, there is no way it is flying this bad.” I ended up keeping the best group, which was still horrible.

    Great video Brother, you missed out on a few that I definitely recommend. 1. Cutthroat single (weight is your discretion on all heads) 2. Tuffhead, any head should do fine but they are famous for their single bevels 3. Woodsman elite 3 blade 4. Magnus for the price point makes some incredible broadheads 5. If your willing to spend the $ (VERY OPTIONAL!!!) Bishop Archery any of their single bevels..... you may need to have your jowl put back in to socket after it hits the desk when you see the price of the Bishops lol. But a great company nonetheless, im sure there is more but these are some heavy hitters.
    I must say what a beautiful Kentucky morning from your neighbor down here in TN. Have a great day & God Bless Brother!

    • @bloodlinesarchery

      Thanks for watching! I do want to dive deeper into single bevel heads. I was going to get a set of tuffheads but they were extremely backed up. I didn’t have the time to wait for those to come in.
      Several people have mentioned the magnus, so I guess I better put those through the paces too.
      I cannot believe the prices on those bishops. I can’t imagine spending that on a head. Those things better be perfect in every category! Wow.
      Good luck this season down in the great state of Tennessee!

    Cool ass video! Lots of work went into this one. I am amazed at the results actually being so close. I use the Black Hornet serrated 125 with a 42 grain brass insert. Seriously, at 410 grains going only 260 fps they have blown thru deer and hogs up to about 200-225 pounds like hot butter. These tests are great for comparing in a known constant media but we know flesh cuts and reacts totally different.

    • @bloodlinesarchery
      @bloodlinesarchery  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah this will only show us the bottom feeders and the weak heads. When it comes down to it the top quality heads are all more than sufficient to kill most game. Each test on an animal may show us different results because there can be so many variables.

    I use G 5 montec fixed blades. Fly like field tips and ate darn near indestructible. Can be easily re sharpened on a flat stone or diamond hone. Shot through both shoulder blades and into the ground behind her. Still sharp enough to shave hair on my arm and perfect. Of course I re sharpened before using again, but performance and re usability are far better than expandables. Every deer we've taken have either dropped in their tracks, or folded within 50 yds. Devastating wound channels and easy blood trails.

    OUTSTANDING TEST!
    I did my own test a few weeks ago. Not near as in depth. Mine was just accuracy.
    What fixed blade would not need Broadheads’s tuning. The ole “Field Point Accuracy “ claim.
    I shot:
    Magnus BuzzCut
    Magnus Black Hornet
    Annihilator
    G5 Montec
    G5 M3
    Would love to have tested more but it gets expensive quick. Lol
    Accuracy winner for me was:
    #1 tie with the two magnus heads. They hit exactly with field points time after time.
    #2 Very close 2nd, Annihilator
    Both G5 heads planed high left and flat right respectively.
    Keep up the great content!

    What would be a reason for a broadhead performing well in the blood drain test but poorly in the wound channel test? For example, the annihilator. I can’t come up with a reason for the discrepancy? Anyone have thoughts on this?
    Great test video! The hard work you put in definitely shows!

    • @bloodlinesarchery
      @bloodlinesarchery  ปีที่แล้ว

      Through my observation I think it would be based on the material that it penetrates through. Perhaps the plastic responds better to the shape of the annihilator, while the gel conforms around it better.

    Amazing video, but I think I know why you had issues with the crafted archery head. Your vane video said you use a left helical and that head is a right wing cut. This causes the head to unscrew as the shaft rotates counter clockwise and the head rotates clock wise ( as seen from the shooter). Look for left wing single bevels or change your fletch helical if you can or want to shoot that head. Again Great video.

    Awesome video and awesome very thorough testing. Just one question for you. Do you use different shafts when hunting and for target practice? I'm asking because I noticed that the shafts you were using are blue and yellow and white. Three colors that happen to be on the very high visibility range for deer. They see blue extremely extremely well as well as yellow and well white is a given unless during winter. And so I'm just wondering if you actually hunt with those same shafts and if you've ever been busted if maybe that's the reason Because their eyes are drawn to those colors. Just wondering. Was also wondering if you could test the G5. Or if you would be able to do a budget broadhead test such as those found in Walmart and Amazon for those looking to get started on a budget and still have accurate good performing broadheads.

    • @bloodlinesarchery
      @bloodlinesarchery  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello @jerichojoe307 so sorry i never responded to your comment I somehow overlooked it.
      I’ve hunted with several different shafts with several different colors of labels and fletchings. For the past couple of years I’ve ran Sirius Apollo arrows with royal blue fletching and even a blue string at times. I have not been busted due to visuals for a couple years. It’s still usually the scent that gets me when the wind swirls.
      Thanks for the idea of the budget friendly test.
      I do have plans to do a mechanical test hopefully in the coming months.

    Loved the slicktrick mags, some of the best blood trails I've ever had. (large 2 blades included) However, you found the reason I switched to Magnus heads. I broke that unsupported blade on a doe. Would still use them in a pinch though, that 2nd blade is rock solid and 1 1/8" 2 blade is more than enough to kill a deer.

    Can't stand ramcats. Shot them for 2-3 years and had terrible results. The blades rarely survived and the wound channel was bad each time, some as a result of blades snapping. Wife lost her first big buck despite a pass through with a ramcat right in the lungs. Started shooting Tooth of the Arrow this season, neither deer made it 30 yards away before dropping. So don't love the fifth place head but interesting to see the results.

      I understand that you are judging according to your test setups, but don’t discount such a solid head as the VPA two blade just because it didn’t impress in these tests. Shoot an animal or two with them, and you might just be impressed, especially if you happen to hit bone. 😎

    • @bloodlinesarchery
      @bloodlinesarchery  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would have bought other plywood, but couldn’t justify $50+ a sheet 😂
      I think Vpa is likely a great head in the instance that I hit bone. But in the instance I don’t, I want a quicker kill than what I think it’s offerings. That’s just my thoughts, I could be wrong.

    • @baraksinz2937
      @baraksinz2937 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bloodlinesarchery Haha! Yeah, I get it with the lumber price issue. Hadn’t thought of that. 😁 There are SO many factors besides the broadhead that factor into a quick kill. I know you only have so many things to go off of when testing heads, so I understand that you have to narrow it down somehow. I’m just suggesting that you don’t count out the rest of your heads, especially the one-piece machined broadheads, just because they didn’t do great on your tests. Personally, I would rather have a smaller cutting head that will likely bust through bone and make a kill if I happen to make a poor shot rather than an inferior head that *might* give a little better blood trail if I make a good shot. I shot a bull elk in 2019 with a double bevel VPA two blade, and he ran 40-50 yards, stopped, and rolled down the mountain.
