I don’t hunt water jugs, so much inaccuracy in the plastic, it flexes back and forth, closes up can peal away, just not a good representation. But hey it was very informative and you can take a lot away from this to make a change. Thanks for well done video.

I feel like he should have went for more of a behind the shoulder replica for those arrow heads. As a hunter I do not try to aim for the scapula.. I only made this comment cause I just watched my favorite head fail miserably haha

Good job. Very thorough. Did some testing myself about 6 years back. I switched to the Toxics as a result. I haven't shot through any shoulder blades as of yet, nor have I seen any deer wearing plywood camo. What I can say is I hate trapesing through the woods trying to follow blood drops. Those Toxic blood trails can be followed by a blind man. I'm just saying what works for me. Every hunter must be comfortable, competent and confident in his or her own equipment. I have bagged Whitetails, Blacktails, Hogs, Stone sheep and a few other critters that got close enough for 40+ years now. I wish you all the luck in the world and a full freezer come December.

Red dawn G34x they all seem to go for those gimmicky broad head, hybrid, weird looking flying things and complain about a bow that is not tunable, lol. Give me a straight up fixed blade with no gimmicks and watch ‘em drop.
Ok as a guy who went to PSE bowschool and shot with Pelegrino and Don Parker I can say 2 things. 1 this video was the best I've ever seen period. Seriously man I hope I get the chance to meet you and shoot together. 2 you missed that buck for one of a dozen reasons. Bro it could have been anything, and honestly we ALL get exited and miss sometimes. Anyway great video and keep them coming!

Man this is a fantastic video. Excellent job. I recently had some annihilator broadheads given to me. They shot amazing for me - accuracy is my #1 priority when hunting. I've been concerned about the cutting diameter not being big enough, but they out-performed my beloved muzzy trocar in the bleed test. Again, great video and test.
Great video, very thorough....! Although there is 1 test that a lot of people use, that really galls me...I've never seen a deer walking around with a 1/2 inch plywood armour and I have never skinned a deer with a hide that thick or that hard in my 52yrs...!!! You want to test quartering deflection of penetration, then get yourself a 3D deer target and wrap a deer hide around it....!! OR an even cheaper option would be to just turn that orange target of yours 40 degrees and voila quartering target...!!!
One of the best broadhead tests I’ve seen! They just made mechanicals legal here in Oregon this year. Please do the same test! Incidentally, I have killed everything with the original two blade Magnus stinger. But they’re very difficult to spin tune.

It would be great to see some traditional 2 blades tested including single vs. double. I understand you are a compound bow guy, but your test would be super meaningful to traditional archers.

I only use fixed blade broad heads and my friend only uses mechanicals. His choice makes sense for him and he kills plenty of game animals. I liked the deer scapula/hide test. Although it's a stationary target, it gives a decent example of real world scenarios. I came across this video after I decided to try out some Annhilators this year as well for elk out here in WA. Looks like I might have made a good choice. Me too, its what i will be using this year, used the regular black honets on a doe last year, quarter away pass though, she went between 20 & 30 yards. Give the ser razor a try this year. Would love to see these tests done with that head

All I shoot are Montec CS and I've never had any issues and all deer have dropped within 30yds of getting hit I'm not changing what I shoot because of his results in this video.
Finally someone doing a useful tests at a useful range.. Most others do the 'tests' at a useless 5 or 6 feet. Which lets face it, is pointless waste of effort.
Very nice video, thanks. I've not much experience Bow hunting, did very little 35 years ago. Now that I'm older I've just decided to go the crossbow route. Crossbow folks are having the same conversations what broad head is best? Fixed or Mechanical? Same debate. Lots of talk yea or nae for both.
This review was awesome. It especially helped me because I have a Hoyt Axius at 65 lbs and 27" and we shoot similar sized arrows so it really shows me how these perform with a similar setup. I have heard nothing but great things about those Annhialators, think ill get some for next season!

I'm thinking about getting those annihilators, largely because of this video. But I'm going to be bowhunting deer for the first time this fall, with a 40 pound longbow, and I'm concerned about penetration. I know your shoulder test was amazing, but I'm worried that if I get a good hit, all that scooping from this broadhead will cause enough drag to prevent the maximum penetration through meat?
Thanks for taking the time and effort to research undoubtedly one of the most critical factors in killing a big game animal with archery equipment. Curious if you tested “out of the box” blade sharpness and also ability to resharpen?
May I make a dumb comment. The basic broad head I shoot from my crossbow, even if deadly dull, goes right through the deer on a side shot and keeps on going another 50+ feet. Penetration is never a problem. Shot placement is. Creating a blood trail is. I think I could put a blunt stone on the end the bolt and it would be effective.

I'm thinking about getting those annihilators, largely because of this video. But I'm going to be bowhunting deer for the first time this fall, with a 40 pound longbow, and I'm concerned about penetration. I know your shoulder test was amazing, but I'm worried that if I get a good hit, all that scooping from this broadhead will cause enough drag to prevent the maximum penetration through meat?
It's a great question... the guys at Annihilator have had some really good reports from low poundage shooters. I think you'll be in good shape.

I saw that clip and thought it was a Texas deer farm till he shot at him..
May I make a dumb comment. The basic broad head I shoot from my crossbow, even if deadly dull, goes right through the deer on a side shot and keeps on going another 50+ feet. Penetration is never a problem. Shot placement is. Creating a blood trail is. I think I could put a blunt stone on the end the bolt and it would be effective.
