    Just did my exodus heads to 2000 grit then stropped. I am obsessed with my blades being razor sharp, and I think my broadheads are miles ahead on sharpness. All due to the repeatability of this jig. Bravo! Absolutely ingenious!

    Do you recommend your diamond plates or sandpaper for these broad heads?

    Detecting a burr is the most important and, sometimes, the most difficult part of sharpening. Painting the edge with a sharpie and then using a jeweler's loupe is a good way to determine if you're there or not. I'm sharpening my Exodus blades on my Wicked Edge sharpening system.

    Any tips for sharpening the tip itself?

    • @BallSlickerous
      @BallSlickerous หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! So I realize your comment is 2 years old. However, if you never figured it out, you can sharpen the tips the same way you would with a normal 3 blade cut on contact.
      I started with 240 for the bulk, then ran it through the paces with 400, 800, 1200, 2500, and a good stropping.
      My Exodus are stupid dangerous now.

    I read on their website that the tip IS stainless steel (SST). I assume it is simply not polished as to why it is not shiny.

    Shame the swept ones can't be sharpened in this sharpener, but I guess there isn't enough material there.

      Contrary to what he said this works fine for the swept blades. Just set the exposure the same as the full blades. I just did mine and you can shave with them.

    Hello, I was planning to buy your replaceable guide to sharpen my Thunderhead and Rage replaceable blades and then saw the combo packages you offer. I have a question, have you found that some blades work better with your system or hold an edge better using your system than others? If so, can you make a recommendation?
    I was planning to try out a fixed blade broadhead next season and was able try out several. The ones that flew best from my bow setup (I am shooting a compound with these) in order of how well they grouped were 1) QAD Exodus, 2) G5 Montec, and the 3) Magnus Black Hornet. The Exodus was identical to a field point, the Montec and Hornet were also very close until I got out to 50 yards which is beyond the range I shoot when hunting; however, even then they grouped well just different from the field points.
    I am open to other broadheads, but thought that when I buy the replaceable blade sharpener it would be a good idea to get the one that would work with whatever fixed blade I may go with. I was looking to see if you had any input on this you would be willing to share. Thanks

    Does sharpening to this extent ever make the blades more brittle on the edge? Or is it just as durable as out of the box sharpness? Thanks!

    I absolutely love these heads. Obviously, the QAD aren't as sharp out of the package as you can get them, but would you say that they're sharp enough out of the package to affectively hunt with? They're one of the few heads I've cut myself with even after practicing with them.

    • @innovativeoutdoorsman5067

      The ones Ive tested were plenty sharp out of the package and with strong, thick blades as they have, they are worth restoring after use..

    I was able to use the jig to sharpen my 125 grain swept blades after practicing with them had made them dull. There isn't much material to grip, but in my experience there was enough for sharpening. They went from bending/tearing paper to slicing the paper when I tested their sharpness.
