This what if is giving me an idea "What if Toriyama thought ahead whilst making the series" How drastically would the story change, what would stay and what would be cut It would be interesting to see for sure
I think something like that is a lot easier to write in retrospect. If none of the lore existed and Toriyama was a diligent and motivated writer, I think there's a good chance that a lot of the hallmarks of the franchise wouldn't even exist. Things like the original Super Saiyan transformations only look the way they do because it saved him and his artists drawing time by not having to ink the hair color in. Not saying this is a bad thing, but it seems likely that the franchise would look completely different to what we got - for better and worse.
@@kingkurok3149 Namek and Frieza is probably too well-written to change. The Buu saga and Super would definitely change for the better, I dunno about Cell though.

One thing that I think was glossed over in this story: Goku probably still has a tail, there was no Kami to permanently remove his tail, and he'd probably work on finding a way for the tail to be less of a weak point...
Goku and gohan in this timeline would all still have tails( except Goten and trunks I guess) but great ape would not be a transformation anymore if they train themselves to not look at the moon except as some last resort. I also don't think future trunks would have tail do to Bulma remembering Goku's transformation.Goku and Gohan probably would remove their tails between the frieza and cell arcs or between the cell and buu arcs due to finding them a hindrance.
The OG multi-part What If. Ah, this brings back memories. Glad to see it all put together as a full-length video. It's interesting to see how much Masako's storytelling skills have improved over the years.
BUT MASAKO What if you went back to this story and fixed it with your honed talent as a writer? What if Masako fixed "What if Kid Goku went Super Sayian?"
There would be the change that #17 & #18 would not be in the Tournament Of Power. #16 and Yamcha would take their places. Universe 7 would lose to Jiren since #17 isn't there to put them in energy barriers on Goku & Vegeta against Jiren.

@@spowden Nah Dr. Gero made each his cyborgs have distinct differences. #13 - #15 were stereotypes, #16 has blaster arms, #17 can make shields, #18 can bear children, #19 can drain ki, #20 has the brain of Dr. Gero as well as a backup brain, Cell has the fight patterns of the Z-fighters & Freeza.

I just realized something. Bulma's Time Machine is very similar to the Epoch in Chrono Trigger. After all, Toriyama was involved in the creation of the game. Bulma and Lucca share a lot in common, being the resident geniuses of their stories who discovered time travel. Yes, I know Belthasar actually created Epoch, but Lucca still had the Gate Key. Hmm, a Chrono Trigger/Dragon Ball crossover would be kind of interesting, now that I think about it! Chrono and Trunks would probably hit it off, both being sword bois.

Even if he got it when he was younger (like if he had a power level of 10) then he would have a power level of like 500. Getting that would instantly make him stronger than canon Goku before anything actually big time important actually happens.

I like that this version has normal timeline future cell, but I see cell being much different in this timeline’s Gero’s designs, thus he would probably note some inconsistencies to *his* cell and the normal timeline future cell

(currently at 21:50 at the time typing this) I noticed in the part 1 section you left in a line that went something along the lines of "I'll leave a poll in the top corner." This doesn't effect the viewing experience at all but 'tis something i noticed. I'm really liking the streamlined way the parts are being edited together. It has the effect of it being a single narrative that I can listen to while dealing with my schoolwork. Really helps that I dont have to wait for the auto-play feature lol

Those little guys are Half-Saiyans with their fathers’ Super DNA in them already. Goku is a pure Saiyan and this (in this timeline anyway) is his first time being one.

I personally think Gokus power would have any up much more than originally during his increased gravity in this new scenario. Having access to SSJ would allow him to do much more training which would in turn make his base form stronger. He'd also be able to turn up the gravity to 50x almost immediately however that probably would not happen because of the others being present. Honestly I think it's a huge saying they would increase as much as he did in the canonical manga because well, when have they ever kept up with Goku?
Why would him being super saiyan and training super saiyan 50x faster be any faster than training in base and using super saiyan to multiply it by 50x?
I remember in the original video someone commenting "Oh Masako, I can't believe you really kept 18 alive for the sake of the Krillin/18 relationship!" Then immediately in the next video she gets munched as soon as she's out.
This one is good. It's a classic. However, I think Masako has improved dramatically since this one came into existence. I would like to see a slower pace, redone version of this one.

I've always wanted this to happen when he was a kid,he would have been twice as powerful if he went super saiyan as a kid,he wouldn't know what a super saiyan is until years later still so he would probably call it golden hair form for the time being

Awesome vid. I’m still surprised that even though Piccolo’s essence was in an egg and Kami could’ve technically watched the whole fight. Yet the balls did not get affected which made me wonder, for a time, how did this actually work? Is it a gray area? I like tuning in to these what if’s as I do my daily routines.
So... what happened with the Cell embryo that was never blasted into dust and why wouldn't Cell just absorb his alternate time line self? given the studies and data the doctor had it would render a Cell far beyond Perfect Cell and possibly equal to if not greater than Kid Buu.
technically yes but Masako has a rule of to keep the trunks timeline the same one we are briefly shown in the anime, for most of the what if's at least (Like the what if Vegeta turned super Saiyan first) so Cell would be part freiza because he's not form this timeline. (again just watch what if frieza turned good)

6:31 zenkai boosts don’t happen with self harm, the more damage a saiyan takes the stronger the boost is when healed back. it will be to easy to exploit the zenkai with near death experiences and just eating a senzu bean and continuing to get stronger.

I would have thought in this scenario, Raditz upon seeing how strong Goku was would have told Goku everything. Raditz being the cautious fighter he is would have tried to have gotten on Goku's good side.

technically yes but Masako has a rule of to keep the trunks timeline the same one we are briefly shown in the anime, for most of the what if's at least (Like the what if Vegeta turned super Saiyan first) so Cell would be part freiza because he's not form this timeline. (again just watch what if frieza turned good)

6:31 zenkai boosts don’t happen with self harm, the more damage a saiyan takes the stronger the boost is when healed back. it will be to easy to exploit the zenkai with near death experiences and just eating a senzu bean and continuing to get stronger.
I'm pretty sure the body doesn't differentiate where the damage comes from ...

I would have thought in this scenario, Raditz upon seeing how strong Goku was would have told Goku everything. Raditz being the cautious fighter he is would have tried to have gotten on Goku's good side.

Well cell was as strong as fused piccolo and android 19 only beat goku in this what if cus of heart virus so I guess it makes sense
