The reason Roshi never learned to fly was that it was originally a Crane school technique, so he refused to learn it on principle. Of course, this is mostly forgotten by the time of Z, so everyone learns it except Roshi.
I still find it a bit dumb though. It's not like the crane school originally invented flying, Like what about Beerus and whis? I bet they started flying way before the crane school learned to fly.

Gohan kills Cell.
Majin Vegeta defeated Goku
Babidi was killed by Buu
Majin Buu was befriended by Hercule,
Super Buu turned into Kid Buu after Vegeta and Goku removed the fused heroes inside.

I cannot lie, this is a really good spin on things. You kept a larger portion of the cast relevant, provided alternative storylines, made interesting character choices (positive) and allowed diversity within the group. Vegeta, Kai apprentice, the strongest support character. Roshi, UI master. G.o.d. Goku lol. Gohan actually continuing training. Goten actually doing things-though sadly trunks fell off being full human, but it is what it is with the plot.
If youtube had number ratings I'd give this a 10/10

Anybody else realize that with Roshi having the ability to make dragon balls, and roshi's power being astronomically higher than Kami's, that the earth's dragon balls would be astronomically more powerful as well.
The power isn't Kai power. It's based on magical power. Dende was way weaker than Kami but his Dragon Balls was much more powerful.

This is the most balanced alternate universe dragonball ive ever seen.
I wish toei can adapt this version as a what-if version.
It does justice to all of the characters, even Yamcha.

Damn~ This is way better than I was expecting. Roshi being Kami is a godsend for future generations, surpassing his old Master Mutaito but continuing his teachings to the next level. Turtle school continues on for many generations going forward. :D Perfect ending for Roshi

Ima be real, having Vegeta become a Kai is one of the best decisions I’ve seen in a what if. It’s fitting, new, and I honestly like the Kais being utilized more. They always felt useless to me, so having one of the main characters become a Kai in training is great.
Funny enough it fits as a natural progresion for vegeta like in the og dbz before super granted super is slowly developing vegeta even more
Vegeta can't become a Kai. The Kai's are a separate species. It's explained in series by shin and elder Kai. Vegeta becoming a Kai makes no sense. It goes against the lore and his personality. If Bulma and trunks couldn't change his personality than killing a Kai wouldn't even phase him.

The minor problem around after the Android arc, which is probably modifiable: the Room of Spirit and Time had a limit of twice....ever. Go in it more than twice and you would be lost there for eternity. Now Roshi could argue with Kami about making it indeffinent; but this originally was done in Super with Dende removing that limit.

This was a really fun journey to go on, the idea that so much could change just because one old man decided to become young once more. I'd honestly be really interested to see how the Moro arc would play out in this timeline.

Roshi definitely would’ve taught Goku kaioken technique and maybe even spirit bomb thus letting him either being equal to or surpassing Vegeta. He would probably eventually get ui too seeing as his fighting style is similar to Roshi as he learned from him. Other than that it was a great story

Honestly ultimate Vegeta in itself is such a cool/good concept. He'd use that WAY more often then Gohan could have
My man, this is one of my FAVORITE fan-created alternate timelines in Dragon Ball! I was always intrigued by the suave appearance and attitude of young Roshi back in the Dragon Ball anime filler, and to see the experienced martial artist return to his handsome form but with hundreds of years more knowledge was great! The way you've masterfully conducted the story to feature him as a central figure that shaped the proceeding events had me constantly wondering what would happen next, all with a smile on my face from minute 1 to hour 2!
Things I especially loved about this alternate timeline: (WARNING- VIDEO SPOILERS AHEAD)
•How the Dragon Team remains working together throughout instead of Goku surpassing everyone, leaving them all in the dust.
•The bigger quantities of peaceful eras that they had. Something about OG DB/DBZ seems like they just can't ever catch a break haha.
•The new Vegeta!! I'm a big candidate of Team Goku, but this Vegeta being reformed and more peaceful was so refreshing and unique to see! The Kai apprentice concept was a great idea, and the way you wrote it amplified my love for his role. (Also love how both he and Zamasu became friends haha) He's no longer obsessed with trying to best Goku, but he's his own man with his own goals of developing himself and taking a different path of life!
•Goku: In this timeline, he is more connected to the family and friends he made from the very start of his adventures. From keeping up with his best friend, his former teacher, and even his children, this Goku isn't always the winner, and has clear goals he wants to achieve, with great but friendly rivals like Vegeta to keep him on his toes!
•Love how Yamcha and Bulma remained together. I love Yamcha, and not only is it great to see him get some romance, but also being in the Tournament of Power?! Sign me up anyday for that!
•ROSHI OBTAINED ULTRA INSTINCT LETS GO, ABSOLUTE GENIUS! Both Master and Student winning the TOP was the icing on the already stunning cake.
•Finally, I just love how Roshi became the guardian of Earth. As you mentioned, the role does suit him incredibly well.
(And I love how they all just dominated Frieza & his forces, haha.)
Some part of me kinda wishes these events are what actually happened in canon! But I'll end my incessant fan-gasming of this; You've earned a subscriber through this video, and I look forward to much more great work!

I originally wasn’t interested in this what if, but it’s one of the best ones I’ve ever seen honestly
I think this is my favorite "What if's" of yours out of all of the ones I've watched so far. I really like how you focused on the relationships between the characters, not only the friendships and rivalries but also the master-student relationships. I really enjoyed seeing each character pursue their own separate path to power with so many different cool forms and power-ups, and it was refreshing to see Goku share the spotlight with other characters for once. Well done once again Mr Salad!

This what if is my *favorite* with "what if gohan kept training after the buu arc" and "what if goku turned majin". I really like how the ending tied in to the canon ending of Super with Goku and Vegeta facing off. Outstanding job! 👍
Plot twist: universe 7 lost because of roshi having his rod in the Tournament of power
plot twist: yamcha joined the tournament and went ultra instinct
Plot twist the Rabbit Man who can turn people into Karrots walks over to Jiren before the tournament of power and shakes his hand turning him into a Karrot
This was actually a really cool scenario. I don't know why, but I loved the change in vegeta, and Roshi being relevant was extremely gratifying. Keep up the good work!

Bravo, Salad, bravo! I adore What Ifs, I've been consuming every one I can find, since i'm working on a sort of reimagining of the entire series on my own, but this is absolutely incredible. The idea of Vegeta being trained as a kai while Goku is trained as a GoD, using the Potential Unleashed form to bring an Earthling up to the level of the Saiyans, keeping the whole "Guardian of Earth" thing relevant throughout the entire thing...Honestly, it only feels right to call this an act of creative genius. The only other What If I've ever seen get to this level is the classic MasakoX What If Raditz Turned Good, but I think I like this one even more. Thank you so much for the incredible story!

Beerus could've technically made Goku an Agent of Destruction to subvert the candidacy he would otherwise need to be a direct student, since both have a direct connection to him.
Theres no precedent for this in cannon though. Too many assumptions and deviations from the original plot make it feel like too much of a fan fic (gokut23 Vietnam flashbacks)
THIS NEEDS TO BE AN ENTIRE NEW ANIMATED SERIES AS ITS OWN ALTERNATE TIMELINE. This is the best what if I've ever seen

You're easily the best what if maker. I love that you flesh out the future trunks timeline and make it similar to the original. I also love that you implement viewer voting and your own spin on things, this was amazing! You get the dragon ball lore and it shows especially with the beerus section
Vegeta should have been Rosė. The Super Sayian Blue form is tied to Destruction energy (Canon Vegeta and Goku have this) where as Rosė is Creation (Kais possess this). You do you, but I think this fits better.

Buff form is basically just increasing your muscles, we only saw roshi using it maybe as a form to conserve energy in his old state.

I'm so glad that this Roshi what if stayed true to being mostly about Roshi. At least until towards the very end. It's so easy to caught up with Goku and Vegeta being absolute monsters no matter what and accidentally making it more about them. Awesome vid!

Just finished this one after taking breaks. This was my favorite What-If Scenario! Over time I became less of a hater of Fan-Fiction. I hope this can become a manga series like the Yamcha manga!

@@charleswright8294 It is just a coincidence. Toriyama just wanted to outdo the last thing. Also there is no proof that Guru was more powerful than Kami. Guru was just an old Namekian. Kami was blessed with divine power when he became God of Earth.
@@CosmicGoku529 touche, tho guru is older than kami, and is implied to be powerful,(or mabye just knowledgable), due to his age. He was the leader of all namek, while kami was arguably only strong because of his godhood, due to only being half of a namekian. On top of this, theres really no implication that the nameless namekian, who kami was only part of, was anything special.

A fact to remember is that in the manga since Roshi reached the peak of martial arts a long time ago he can something like Ultra Instinct, but Whis still said before Goku also understood what trully was Ultra Instinct, Roshi was the closest of the the Tournament to master Ultra Instinct.

One thing is that in the raditz saga his power level was 1500 and together all of them is 1400+ meaning it wouldnt be that hard to fight them and the kamehameha doubles their power level so imo it would be easier
