@@darkestrose9989 Isn't the goal to have zero butterfly effects, except for curing Goku's heart virus and preventing the androids' crime spree? Becoming a mountain recluse until the correct time would certainly achieve that. Would it be wholesome, though? If he had to interact with the main cast, maybe he could try to force himself into an Oolong or Puar type role. It would still cause butterflies, but maybe they wouldn't be as severe. Roshi would still sense he was hiding something, what could he say to that? Although... What if the goal isn't to eliminate butterflies, but to find out which butterflies Chronoa likes, and make those happen. Remember that Trunks didn't go to Bulma's Youth intentionally, it was an accident. He could have asked Chronoa to place him at Frieza's Arrival instead, but she intentionally placed him at Bulma's Youth for some reason. The real questions are "What does Chronoa want to happen?" and "How can I make that happen?"
How I think this series would’ve continued: A) Trunks actually tries again, making sure he doesn’t do the same things that landed him in the redo to begin with B) After being found by Bulma, he flies off (maybe bumping Bulma in the head first to make her forget seeing him), makes sure Bulma and Goku meet (somehow) and then hides away until when Mecha Frieza shows up and then he does what he was *SUPPOSED* to do and goes back, being practically the same age as Future Bulma as a result C) Infinite time loop. Chronoa lies to Trunks about making him start over, and makes him continue “redoing” the fixing of the timeline, but influencing him from afar to always end up in a bad ending. Punishment for Trunks’s recklessness and breaking of probably all of the laws of time travel. Meanwhile, he is used as an example by the time patrol for what not to do and what it will lead to.
I love the power scaling difference here being evident. Trunks can take out pretty much anyone in the world easily by just looking at them with their measly power levels at best under 300.

Yeah, I'd love to see a sequel with Future Bulma going to New Namek and seeing what happens with that alongside Trunks's redemption even though it would be kinda repetitive. I wonder if the video would just feel like a loop haha
I liked this but it did have a few plot holes. 1. Where's Kami? In the original timeline he took the guise as Shen to fight Piccolo, what happened to him here? Did piccolo still swallow him? 2. How did Trunks know where the lab is? In the original timeline he had no idea otherwise he'd just have gone there and blown them up. I definitely like it though, and would think a sequel could be neat.
I really loved this series, but there is one bit of all this that confuses me. In Part 06 Goku is able to find Gohan thanks to Gohan's energy spiking when he gets scared. But in Part 07, you say that the team just keeps looking for Gohan over and over and don't find him until it's too late. How does that work? Do Piccolo's words about Trunks really affect Goku that badly that he lets Piccolo fly off with his only son? I just can't see that happening. Other than that, brilliant What If.
I think that the idea is that Piccolo allows Gohan to power spike and knocks him out before fleeing with the kid. It would lead Goku on a wild goose chase that would ultimately be ruinous. Not to mention that Goku would have to learn the Kaioken technique and the Spirit Bomb much, much later.
@@rdp16rulez No, pay close attention at the end. Goku Confronts Piccolo and explains to him how it was Gohan that led Goku to Picollo. So Goku *found* Gohan, but then in the next part the God of Time makes it sound as if this never happened.

Masako in every other what if: the extra five minutes of training makes them 10x as strong... Masako in this story: the literal years of knowing a super saiyan and undoubtedly training to reach that power makes them weaker of course.
well keep in mind they WERE multiple times stronger by the age of raditz. but the distraction of gohan being kidnapped made them fail to prepare for the saiyans which now also included raditz.

It was literally in their DNA. (Also Vegeta being in space when he unlocked Super Saiyan was anime-only, in the manga he was likely training in the gravity chamber at Capsule Corps) Goku wouldn't have unlocked Super Saiyan just by seeing Trunks do it, especially if he didn't know he could.

What if Super Saiyan wasn't a legend? The transformation still exists, it would be so that the 1,000 year old story of the transformation doesn't exist. The main driving force of Freeza's paranoia of the Saiyans doesn't exist. How would this alter the story? I can imagine a story of Bardock still being paranoied of Freeza and sending Goku away like in the original. And Goku growing up and dealing with the Saiyan race later in life.
idk in the broly movie it was made pretty clear that bardock only got his suspicions of frieza after being told that he was asking about the legendary super saiyan. You could do something where he gets sent to earth to destroy it and bumps his head.
That means they all due on Namek. Goku needed that transformation to best Frieza. It's weird that people keep suggesting this as if it'd change the outcome of them all dying. Unless it can be tweaked some. Lol this what if just got me super sad

speaking of time travel i've always wondered about a what if scenario after bardock's battle with mira in xenoverse 2 where he was returned to where he was taken from. like he just pops outta the death ball and destroys freiza or something
I think that (hopefully) Trunks will actively think about how events are supposed to unfold and judge his actions based on that now, only stepping in to point the Z fighters in the right direction. If he wants to receive training, it should be through someone other than those whose lives he is influencing. Maybe he can convince King Kai to teach him Kaio Ken sometime when Goku isn't there to spar with...
I would hate to know that there is a "time god" out there, which i briefly talked to, only to be abandoned in somewhere in the past while not knowing what happened to my mother. I would become the villain of this story after meeting the kai.
So is there a sequel to this 👀 I need to know. Seeing Trunks mess up was one thing, and it was *dark* , but I want to see him fix things and see where we'll end up.

Honestly this got really dark and existential and I kinda love it, it was interesting seeing Chronoa being so cold and even intimidating. I think we forget sometimes how scary she really is. I'd love too see some more stories with her acting like this.

I find your what if episode not only entertainimg, but frankly quite fascinated by it. Your passion and knowledge of the DB universe is clear as day from any DB fan, and using your knowledge of DB character how the story turns out is simply priceless. I agree with a lot of aspects of the story and what would happen, but I think Goku would be able to copy and do the Super Saiyan transformation as he did with the Burning Attack, Kamehameha, Afterimage, Drunken Fist, Hakai, etc. Although, I don't see why the Z-Fighters wouldn't use the dragon balls to find Gohan And I feel like too much of the blame was put on Trunks as opposed to any on Piccolo lol
super saiyan does not work like ki attacks, you have to actually earn it via training and emotions, as evident when vegeta after seeing goku go super saiyan needed training so he to could go ssj

Just needed to say that this was absolutely amazing, and you're clearly a talented story-writer. I love what-ifs like this: Something that is all about Dragon Ball and has realism to the franchise, yet so clearly your own with your own twists/spin that make it interesting. What an incredible series this was.
There’s a problem with your what if, trunk’s doesn’t know where Geros lab is at any point they don’t know where it is until they chased Gero to his lab.
I feel the ending of this was actually the ending, a dark ending, I mean that Cronoa put Trunks into some sort of time loop that he will redo his mistakes over and over again forever as a punishment for his actions. This What-If? was one of my favorites in this channel, but there are some plot holes that I really don't understand: 1 - Why it was stated that they couldn't find Gohan since Goku itself found him by sensing his energy even before the scene of Trunks going to Gero's Lab; 2 - How does Trunks know about Gero's Lab location? If is that so, why he didn't go to it in his own timeline to search for some way to defeat the androids?; 3 - Why the Z Fighters didn't used the Dragon Balls to find Gohan if they couldn't do find him by seaching? They could even had wished Shen Long to bring him to them.
how would he go about doing the time-line the correct way? just give goku the capsule the way he originally did, then dissappear to train for the androids, or just be an observer over everything then step if when things go wrong.
Reminds me a bit too much of my first Dragon Age Origins playhtrough... and Mass Effect 1.. though not as excessively. That whole thing about mistakes snowballing. EDIT: Also the whole no consequences thing. I remember when i wanted to try out being a bad guy in Watch Dogs 1.... not realizing that WD1 has autosave...
Personally, I didn't like the tone given to Chronoa. It came across as entirely too much like a mother who is hellbent on punishment without reasoning what that would do to a kid's mental and emotional stability for a punishment of that scale. Even if she did give him another chance, now he has to live in fear of screwing up yet again. Some may see that as a challenge, but that sort of thing just gnaws at you in the back of your head until it's resolved, which for Trunks subtracts from the "good life" that's dangled as reward in front of him. And his goal wasn't exactly "good life", it was "defeat evil with the tools available", which included a time machine. Yes, he screwed up, and some measure of consequence was necessary. But that in turn should not invite further emotional and mental pain (in addition to what he saw back in his own timeline, which was HIFL enough) in the form of "keeping up with a time-lord". Aside from that, an excellent exercise/adventure/exploration in time travel.
He doomed everybody because he didn't want to stop getting involved in a timeline he wasn't supposed to be in the first place. To me, Chronoa was being very generous by showing him the consequences of his actions, and *still* giving him a second chance.
about trunks flying to master roshi's droping turtle off, you forgot how master roshi knows that only members of the crane school know how to fly, trunks appearing the way he did might have put roshi on edge.
In all honesty, the ending is weak. Sure Gohan gets captured, but most of it wasn't entirely a screw up. After all, Trunks was stuck in the past. So him tampering wasn't entirely his fault.
I feel there should be way more trauma Bulma would have for wanting to sleep with her son for all those years. He was the guy of her teenage dreams. She most definitely spent alot of sleepless nights thinking of him and I imagine a few times she called out trunks while she was with Yamcha

Nice man love this story telling I feel like a kid again sitting in a circle hearing the teacher reading the book to us out loud while also making it more immersive by sometimes doing certain gestures to make it more effective haha.
What if GT was purely about the new generation? Same kind of plot as GT, but instead of Kid Goku and trunks coming with the crew, it's Maron, Bra, Pan, Goten and Trunks.

What if Super Saiyan wasn't a legend?
The transformation still exists, it would be so that the 1,000 year old story of the transformation doesn't exist. The main driving force of Freeza's paranoia of the Saiyans doesn't exist.
How would this alter the story?
I can imagine a story of Bardock still being paranoied of Freeza and sending Goku away like in the original. And Goku growing up and dealing with the Saiyan race later in life.
idk in the broly movie it was made pretty clear that bardock only got his suspicions of frieza after being told that he was asking about the legendary super saiyan. You could do something where he gets sent to earth to destroy it and bumps his head.
That means they all due on Namek. Goku needed that transformation to best Frieza. It's weird that people keep suggesting this as if it'd change the outcome of them all dying. Unless it can be tweaked some.

I personally think that Roshi might've done some secret training with his Ki sense or just secret training in general during the 6 years where Trunks was gone. *maybe* it was partially due to Trunks' influence and how he made the old man look like a fool?

I think that (hopefully) Trunks will actively think about how events are supposed to unfold and judge his actions based on that now, only stepping in to point the Z fighters in the right direction. If he wants to receive training, it should be through someone other than those whose lives he is influencing. Maybe he can convince King Kai to teach him Kaio Ken sometime when Goku isn't there to spar with...
I would hate to know that there is a "time god" out there, which i briefly talked to, only to be abandoned in somewhere in the past while not knowing what happened to my mother.
I would become the villain of this story after meeting the kai.

Honestly this got really dark and existential and I kinda love it, it was interesting seeing Chronoa being so cold and even intimidating. I think we forget sometimes how scary she really is. I'd love too see some more stories with her acting like this.

Your passion and knowledge of the DB universe is clear as day from any DB fan, and using your knowledge of DB character how the story turns out is simply priceless. I agree with a lot of aspects of the story and what would happen, but I think Goku would be able to copy and do the Super Saiyan transformation as he did with the Burning Attack, Kamehameha, Afterimage, Drunken Fist, Hakai, etc.
Although, I don't see why the Z-Fighters wouldn't use the dragon balls to find Gohan
And I feel like too much of the blame was put on Trunks as opposed to any on Piccolo lol
super saiyan does not work like ki attacks, you have to actually earn it via training and emotions, as evident when vegeta after seeing goku go super saiyan needed training so he to could go ssj

@@xin215 both gotem and trunks had stronger genes since they were the latest generation, also that was in the buu arc. trunks in this timeline went ssj in late Dragon Ball, goku wasn't even married yet nor did he have gohan

Just needed to say that this was absolutely amazing, and you're clearly a talented story-writer. I love what-ifs like this: Something that is all about Dragon Ball and has realism to the franchise, yet so clearly your own with your own twists/spin that make it interesting. What an incredible series this was.

There’s a problem with your what if, trunk’s doesn’t know where Geros lab is at any point they don’t know where it is until they chased Gero to his lab.

I feel the ending of this was actually the ending, a dark ending, I mean that Cronoa put Trunks into some sort of time loop that he will redo his mistakes over and over again forever as a punishment for his actions.
This What-If? was one of my favorites in this channel, but there are some plot holes that I really don't understand:
1 - Why it was stated that they couldn't find Gohan since Goku itself found him by sensing his energy even before the scene of Trunks going to Gero's Lab;
2 - How does Trunks know about Gero's Lab location? If is that so, why he didn't go to it in his own timeline to search for some way to defeat the androids?;
3 - Why the Z Fighters didn't used the Dragon Balls to find Gohan if they couldn't do find him by seaching? They could even had wished Shen Long to bring him to them.
It seems Trunks has found himself in a McFly conundrum, except this time he doesn't know his mother is his mother, (7:53)

how would he go about doing the time-line the correct way? just give goku the capsule the way he originally did, then dissappear to train for the androids, or just be an observer over everything then step if when things go wrong.
Reminds me a bit too much of my first Dragon Age Origins playhtrough... and Mass Effect 1.. though not as excessively.

Man, this story is really really good. It shows what kinds of things could happen if Trunks had messed up in the journey.
Personally, I didn't like the tone given to Chronoa. It came across as entirely too much like a mother who is hellbent on punishment without reasoning what that would do to a kid's mental and emotional stability for a punishment of that scale. Even if she did give him another chance, now he has to live in fear of screwing up yet again. Some may see that as a challenge, but that sort of thing just gnaws at you in the back of your head until it's resolved, which for Trunks subtracts from the "good life" that's dangled as reward in front of him. And his goal wasn't exactly "good life", it was "defeat evil with the tools available", which included a time machine.
Yes, he screwed up, and some measure of consequence was necessary. But that in turn should not invite further emotional and mental pain (in addition to what he saw back in his own timeline, which was HIFL enough) in the form of "keeping up with a time-lord".
Aside from that, an excellent exercise/adventure/exploration in time travel.
He doomed everybody because he didn't want to stop getting involved in a timeline he wasn't supposed to be in the first place.
To me, Chronoa was being very generous by showing him the consequences of his actions, and *still* giving him a second chance.
And some how The literal god of time ends up being more caught up in their pride than the SAYJIN

In all honesty, the ending is weak. Sure Gohan gets captured, but most of it wasn't entirely a screw up. After all, Trunks was stuck in the past. So him tampering wasn't entirely his fault.
I feel there should be way more trauma Bulma would have for wanting to sleep with her son for all those years. He was the guy of her teenage dreams. She most definitely spent alot of sleepless nights thinking of him and I imagine a few times she called out trunks while she was with Yamcha

Same kind of plot as GT, but instead of Kid Goku and trunks coming with the crew, it's Maron, Bra, Pan, Goten and Trunks.
